$600 laptop... wow.

Only 8GB RAM though. I wonder if they planned to do 16GB but price increases forced their hand.

8GB on a Mac is a little rough. I'm curious how the reviews will do

not even an option to upgrade to 12-16GB of RAM.

Only upgrade is $100 for Touch ID + 512GB of Storage.

This would've been perfect for me to replace my 8GB M1 MBA but noooo

Fuck it, we ball 14in Silver M5 Max 36GB 2TB MBP.

They're giving me $450 for my M1 Pro which about the same as I'd get after fees if I sold it on eBay

I don't got exact stats yet (token/sec) but this thing feels almost as fast as my 5070 Ti. Then it gets warm after a couple questions in Ollama gptoss 20B

I can run macOS, Windows 11 in a VM, and run gptoss 20B locally all at the same time, and do it well. Love this thing

They got tensor cores (neural accelerators) in their GPU now, no need real need for a dedicated GPU now. The unified architecture is a huge benefit, very hard to beat. The M5 Ultra is going to be a beast.

I love my M5 Max
