If its around $2500, fvck them. I might as well get the 15" rMBP at that price or something else.
I'm with whiskers, they over priced the rMBP. And honestly its not worth that much more. I'd rather get the 15" with the same specs non retina.
I love my display on my MBP already. And i've seen the rMBP at best buy briefly. Its not a drastic change as it was on the iPad, iPhone.
I mean they have marketed the Retina brand really well so i'm sure people are easily willing to shell out the money, based on it having that name in the brand line. But thats just the amazing marketing geniuses for you.

Im curious what I can sell my 2007 24" iMac for....and my current mid-2009 13" MBP....only problem with my laptop is I dropped the fucker a few months ago and dented the top corner of the casing...screen is undamaged...damned soft metals...
Hope so considering the fully loaded 15 is about $3700. Me and you need to come up with a wife plan to get these bad boys. I can probably sell my 2011 15 inch for 1K ish.
If I could get 1k combined for my two machines I think Id be lucky
2.7GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.7GHz
16GB 1600MHz DDR3L SDRAM
768GB Flash Storage
Backlit Keyboard (English) & User's Guide (English)
maybe thats what I did when I built it....I do want to dump my imac and laptop and consolidate back to one machine...where I can dock it to the t-bolt display when I need a bigger work area...
sadly a t-bolt disply would be much later down the line.

what is a c2d?
Its the very first AL bodied iMac...maxed out at 4GB of RAM....hard drive dumped out a few month ago so I put in a 1TB barracuda drive.
Its so slow for what I need it for I just never use it....hell now that Im shooting 36MP photos....my mid-2009 macbook is choking on them as well.
