Did you put a SSD in it?
I have a four year old C2D mini that just sits in the closet. But it's starting to get a bit flaky and the mini display port is giving me fits.
I don't need the latest, but I am all for having the latest. Last revision was July 2011. Time to step it up Apple.

I would consider even putting in a cheap, but reliable SSD. I really only need a boot partition as I have an 8TB Raid 5 enclosure that sits off the mini now that holds music, photos and does all my backup shit.
That's overkill for what I need and 256GB is just going to sit there unused. I really need a small SSD. Maybe an Intel 40GB if they still make them. All the disk that is in the mini is primarily used to boot, run carbon copy cloner and all the mountain lion server tasks, logs, etc.
man i gotta say i'm really happy with my MBP.
Its fast, really great for multitasking (which i do a lot of) and the battery life.... I'd buy this thing over and over just for the battery. I can go to school, have pdf/word/chorme/matlab all open and be working without even pulling out my charger or go looking for an outlet. Amazing.

Ha...my wife accidentally discovered a feature on the apple tv I never knew about.
If you select an icon (like an iPhone/ipad) and hold down the enter button...it "shakes" and you can rearrange the icons to your liking on the home page.
sweet.

found a cool widget called istatpro. It monitors a lot of things on the computer, the best one of which is the battery. It lets you know the batter health and how many cycles you've been through and such.
for me it says i've already gone through 154 cycles and my battery health is at 98%.
According to apple 1000 cycles will decrease my battery health to 80%...
here it is, its free to download.
It also does temp, fan speed and regular cpu monitors

damn thats nice, i got my HDD at 90 degrees, with my CPU at 148 degrees
The comp i had before this, was having some heating issues and it would push close too 200 degrees haha, i've hit 212 when playing a game, this was when the laptop was 4 years old though

I thought the 13" notebooks were too small at first, now that I've had a 13" MB and 13" MBP, I'm used to the size and I love the portability. When I'm home and need a larger screen, I plug it into the desktop monitor or my big-screen LCD TV. Although 15" is not too big by any means.
For anyone who has an iMac

Apple's hard drive replacement program for 2011 iMacs has been expanded after discovering even more machines may be affected. The company has updated its support page about the program to note the 1TB Seagate hard drives could be faulty in iMacs sold as early as October 2009. Apple will offer free replacement hard drives to affected customers for three years after the first sale of the device, or until April 12, 2013, whichever is longer.
Apple first announced the program in July of 2011, saying that the 1TB drives in iMacs sold between May and July of that year could be subject to failure under "certain conditions." (Coincidentally at the time of that writing, I complained it was too bad the recall didn't seem to cover my 27" iMac purchased in October of 2009, which has experienced regular hard drive fan problems for years.) Now, it appears as if Apple discovered the Seagate hard drive problem goes far beyond just iMacs sold in 2011. The program now officially includes those sold between October 2009 and July 2011.
This replacement program was originally set to expire earlier this year but was extended, and has now been extended again. Unfortunately, my aforementioned 2009 iMac still appears to fall outside of the recall—but you may have better luck. In order to find out if your iMac qualifies, enter your serial number into Apple's support page. If it does, Apple will offer a replacement hard drive for free via one of Apple's retail stores or an authorized service provider.

new mac mini also rumored for the event
for now i think i'll stick with a 15inch. Well this thing better last me 4 years.
If i want something smaller I may eventually (when i graduate and get a job) get a windows 8 tablet.
