Any mac with the TB connector can do that. I would notice the difference, but not sure if its worth getting a new Mac over.
Keep in mind the 13" and some 15"s without retina comes with the Intel HD4000 for graphics. In my experience, it heats up quickly and the fans kick in anytime you do anything resembling a Youtube video.
On the 15" retina I own, the fans have only kicked in (quietly too) once. I tried out Diablo III.
In fact, my laptop never gets beyond slightly warm. Not sure if that matters or not to you.

$2,999.00 for the same config in the US.
But my wife would notice if I flew to the US to get a new laptop. Plus you cant think about the conversion, Im still charging 30 pounds an hour for consulting.

hmm.. am i mistaken here? but i just priced out a non-retina 15" to the same specs as the retina model and its actually cheaper to go with the retina version by 200-300.
but when i price out the non-retina 13" model to the retina specs, its an additional 200 to go with the retina.

anyways im just thinking out loud.

Been reading reviews on the Intel 4000 graphics chip in the 13"....ugh.
Why apple....why did you think that ALL serious pros wouldnt want the 13?
Personal testing must be done...problem is I doubt they'll actually load up any pro suites on those machines...if I could find one with final cut and aperture...I could at least "play" with apps similar to what I use.

The more I think about it....the more I think I realize the internals of the 15 are what I will need for long term use...
Its annoying as shit...I REALLY want the 13 form factor.
Still have to take a SD to an apple store and play more...but Im in no rush, not a financial investment I'm in the position to make right now...especially if I have to go 15....fuck that bums me out.
