Second, probably waiting for T-Mobile to do it or for you to leave ATT.

^Beats was MOG which was better than Spotify IMO. Beats curation is nice and for 2 lines it's $15 via ATT. Plus they do offline SD card high quality downloads which I do through my Wifi. Beats gobbles data in high quality mode.

On Saturday I allowed my droid maxx to update and it got stuck on the reboot screen. I've been trying to force the update now but don't know where to find the code.

If stuck at boot screen, just hold down power button to force it off and then press it again to turn it back on. It'll boot up again and resume process of optimizing apps.

I tried that many times but with no success. Nothing worked. Asurion is sending me a refurbished one for free and it should be here later today.

Random question, how do I assign text tones to sms? For example, I receive bunch of SMSs from Amazon, UPS, EZpass at night, I want it to be silent... I don't see such option.

Lollipop?

when you press volume down all the way to vibrate, there will be a tab for "none"

none = no interruptions. even alarms.
Priority = you can set calls, messages, or events and reminders.

you can set it for indefinite or for a set time

it's really dumb how TW did this on the Note 4. It was easier to find on the Note 2. Anyways go to a contact. Click the pencil at the top which means edit not write a message Then at the bottom Add Another Field. At the very bottom will be message tone.

Thank you, I feel like a dumbass as I've been to this menu a million times. But I still need to upload my own silent tone? So backwards.

With Textra (which is a far superior messaging app vs stock and allows for quick replies/ignore without leaving app) you can assign tones including silence for each sender. It actually supercedes your stock Contacts setting for text tone.

Plus when you long press the contact in the main menu, the 3 dot menu pops up and one of the selections is notifications. You can get cute and modify the vibration, change tones, colors, etc for each contact.

You had other options, like to wipe cache partition, which wouldn't have wiped all your saved data.

And final option was to factory reset.

Motorola is offering a $140 discount on an unlocked 2014 Moto X this Monday. It's nearly impossible to pass that up. I think that's my next phone.

Who here has one? Thoughts?

After some system updates it typically takes a LONG freakin' time to boot up the first time. I'm talking like 5 minutes or so as it rebuilds cache or something. So let it sit for a bit before you panic and reboot.

Even after it boots up it still grinds away in the background doing stuff, so performance is sluggish for a while.

I don't do it all the time but I do use it fairly frequently when making plans on phone calls or when talking about something tech related and need to look something up to help answer their questions.
Also very annoying for driving - talking (hands free) and using nav at the same time is fairly common.

Cochese does

I thought about it, but the only real thing about it that bothers me is the battery size. That is very tempting though, and it'll be hard to get a N6...

The battery isn't an issue. It typically lasts longer than my M7.

The turbo charger will give you a pretty good boost in fifteen minutes. Plus, I can stretch my Nexus 4 battery to 16 hours, so its not a big deal.

Cochese - since multi quote doesn't work on the mobile site, I'll ask here; how do you like your Moto X? Good build quality? How's the camera?

My typical battery life is over 17 hours. I can go a full day (7am to midnight) with over 3 hours SOT. The battery typically charges fast as well. Tempted to get the Turbo for 50% off.

Camera is a good deal better than the M7 as well. Focus can be spotty, but typically good and fast.

I just dropped a bill on the ProClip mount and charger, this thing is going to stick for some time.

I'm not seeing the need much because most things are streamed for me. I have a 32GB phone and one year later I still have 7.5GBGB left.

On another note. I am getting real annoyed that my N7 still doesnt have lollipop....

my M4 is 16gb and I have around 4gb free. I will be going for the 32gb X though, just for a little more breathing room.

Best overall Android phone out there right now.
If you want a superb camera phone, then the Moto X is not for you.
If not, then it's a fantastic phone. Get the 32GB version.
Post up your design

Good luck on getting a code.

I so wished that the Nexus had that active display the motox has.
that's the best feature of any phone.
just pick it up without touching the power button to see notifications

I mimic that feature as best as I can with a flip open magnetic case. flip it open and the screen comes on with my nexus 5.

Well, the Nexus Ambient Display is pretty good too. Does the same 'pick up without touching buttons to see notifications'.

I just wished they enabled "tap to wake" by default on the Nexus 6

Ambient Display gives you so much more information than Moto Display does at initial glance though. That's the one thing I don't like about Moto Display.

The iPhone community on AZ is terrible, unhelpful, and filled with assholes. Thought about getting an iPhone 6 as my new phone, but now I'll just wait for the 6s or whatever they call it next year and probably never post in that thread on AZ.
