Android: Phone News and Discussion Thread
So my Note has Android 4.4.4, and when I keep looking at Lollipop videos, I see lots of similarities in terms of the Material Design... So why should I be so excited about Lollipop? My only hope is a less laggy TouchWiz.
that could be one of the reasons why you dont see a difference.
However; this is the biggest update since 4.0
so, there are going to be a lot of under the hood changes that you dont see.

So glad I got my white N6. Wanted 64gb but I will settle for the 32gb I got. Have 3 cases ordered that will arrive before the phone. Just need to get a screen protector ordered and then I am all ready. Hopefully I will have on the 22nd or before.
Those wanting a white Nexus 6 should also check Motorola.com every Wednesday morning.
So far only Play Store and Motorola.com are selling them, especially the 64GB versions.
I found it really odd that a ton of sites that are usually in love with Apple products are praising the Nexus 6, while some hardcore Android sites are not loving it, possibly even bitter about it.

How do you like the finger scanner?
Is there a certain time we should be checking?

I have this external battery charger:
Got it for $30 a while back, but looking for something a lot more portable. Sucks that USA doesn't sell the Xiaomi Power Bank. They have a very compact 5k charger for under $10
Nah I think Nova Launcher might be a better choice but the only widgets I use on my launcher is the Google search and the full page calendar on another page. I am pretty minimalist in my settings.

Finally updated my Nexus 7 2013 to Lollipop and loving it. Also for the guys running Lollipop, check out Google's Messenger app:

Its one pretty looking app. I wish Hangouts was updated to Material Design soon because I just left it for the messaging app above.
Also people are messing with some of the RAW capabilities that Lollipop brought to Android. Unfortunately it only seems to be working on the Nexus 5 right now. But someone on Reddit did a comparison:

I was going to flash 5.0 on my N4 this weekend but some people have been mentioning storage issues, so I think I'm going to wait for the OTA. I'm chomping at the bit to get it though.
My phone is basically unlocked all the time (well, as long as it's connected to my watch via Dislock). I use fingerprint to run lastpass and unlock various apps from being opened (like gmail).
I registered and always use the fingerprint scanner two handed (hold phone with one, swipe with other hand). Also I'm kind of used to these swipe scanners since I use the one on my Lenovo laptop for login/lastpass as well.

Thx for the apk, Frank. Redbox seems to work ok as I can navigate through it. I just have to go through and order a movie which I didn't have time for this weekend. Strange they don't have it compatible for the Note 4.
No prob, let me know if you have any questions on it.
