Upgraded to Lollipop, lots of random app closures and crashes... Still better than my N5, but damn. Where's my 5.1 update Google!?

 

I gave up and ordered a Nexus 9. Picking it up today and selling my samsung galaxy tab pro 8.4 for cheap.

5.0 makes the phone unusable. i had to actually use it as a phone - strictly calling.

 

I assumed that 5.1 was out for the S5 already, I was sadly mistaken.

I got mine this morning. Guess it hit the east coast today. Good thing I took the day off or else I'd be updating on the way to work so I slept through it as well.

 

Nexus 9 still on 5.0 huh. Wow.

 

Yeah. The Nexus 4, 7 and 9 are still on 5.0.1/5.0.2. The 4 and 7 use the same SOC so when one gets it, the other should follow. Not sure what the deal is with the 9. But it does look like Google just released a new Lollipop update. New build number is LMY47I. What's new? Not sure. I just flashed it though using the commands above and removing the "-w".

I like how on the calendar widget it shows the weather forecast in the next few days.

 

I no like lollipop. Everything is laggy, especially the Messaging app. I switched from Textra to it since it has those new nifty notifications features on the lock screen, but I can't stand of how slow it is.

 

I found an easy way to switch sound from On, Vibrate and Off, on lockscreen just swipe from top to bottom to get the quick settings menu and tap on sound. Works from any screen.

I find my Note 4 is more zippy. App switching used to be laggy. Its much faster now for me.

 

moto is still testing lollipop on the 1st gen motoX.

some of the features of lollipop would render motoX's features useless.
and that's the best part of the motoX, the moto designed features/apps

 

Need help. I've disabled Messaging notification for the default app but when I get a txt message, I receive both the default and Textra notification. Grr.. Help.

Enjoy it, my S5 was a lot more stable on 4.4

 

I'd probably uninstall Textra. Restore messaging as the default. Then install Textra again.

 

have you guys ever click on the "On This Day" feature in FB? It tells you what you posted on that day in previous years.
