Android: Phone News and Discussion Thread
My Note keeps switching WiFi for no effen reason, especially when it's sitting on a good paid one it switches to some free public bullshit one... What gives?
When I'm out, I'm forced to use my LTE since wifi keeps hopping.

FYI, some retailers are now blocking NFC payment systems Google Wallet, ISIS/Softcard, and Apple Pay because they compete with their future payment system CurrentC. Some Android, Apple, WP users are starting a boycott in protest.

Places blocking any of this technology in anyway is why this will unfortunately never take off till they all come can come together and agree on something.
I wasnt sure but yeah looks like it. Both Sprint.
I normally am really satisfied with sprint in my area. Always have service and such.
You guys think its just an issue Sprint has?

Got my Note 4 yesterday but was so busy couldn't activate it till late. Fuck even with the bloat is this bitch fast. It's basically a Note 2 on steroids and HGH. Screen resolution is amazing. Some apps are missing like ATT Visual Voicemail but maybe because the phone is so new not sure. The settings are so customizable and easier to find. A lot of the hand gesture stuff that kills battery I turned off because I'll never use them. I need a case, I'm so scared.

Register your device on Samsung site they will give you 50% off code, shop for the case and everything else.
Getting used to the former (left) menu button as the app switcher. Hated holding the center button and the stupid Google Speak comes on. I miss a menu button though. The LED's on the Note 4 are way lighter than on the 2. Plus less customization for it so I had to get Light Flow again.

I may sell both my Moto X and Nexus 7 2013 to get the N6... hmm. I am still worried about everyday usage with something so big.
The N6 won't fit in my cubby or cupholder in my car, and maybe barely in the suction cup phone holder. If only I could borrow one for a week.

Tried to pre-order the N6 yesterday which seemed to be a complete failure. Had a couple opportunities to get a 32gb one but was looking for the 64gb and it was basically never in stock at all. Seemed like a pretty bad effort on Googles part.

the little kids in China need something to do
Welcome to Google Play.
I'm not sure what apple and samsung offer in this aspect, so I don't really know what I'm missing out on
Welp, after a trip to argentina, I think it's time to for me to change my phone.
My oppo N1 is one of those phones with the stupid 'separate' memory area for apps. In my case, 3 gig. I've been able to ignore it since I've been using Android, but now my (numerous) apps are finally causing me grief. Lately whenever I update it's failing with 'insufficient' memory and I have to uninstall one or more apps to proceed. This has happened several times, and it's getting old real quick.
I've been looking around, but after the time with my Oppo I really want:
1) A fingerprint sensor - typing in my obnoxiously long lastpass password gets old REAL QUICK. I don't generally use phones one handed, so I think the accuracy of the sensor will be better for me, kind of like how it works great on my laptop.
2) External SD. Mainly for phone backups, if I hose/break/brick my phone. Cloud storage isn't an option.
That basically means it's galaxy note 4 time for me, I guess.
I was hoping to support another company, actually, but aw well.

I haven't tried it on my Note 4 but overall it's a fantastic phone. Be warned Frank, the Note 4 is missing some stuff from the Note 2 like icons on the lock screen, menu button, and a few other nuances that I got used to. But easily overlooked with its speed.
instead of counting calories (its hard converting food to steps)
ive just tried to beat my daily steps, well, daily..

this stupid basic program is making me want to convert to apple.
I hear their iHealth app monitors food intake and calories, ya know...the important stuff.
I've seen a lot of posts complaining about that over at Android Central forums but personally haven't had that problem where it's noticable. Maybe going from a Note 2, temporarily to an iPhone 4 for a week, then to a Note 4 messed up my timing.
My review of the S-View Padded Case for the Note 4... Beautiful, elegant, slim and annoying as f@ck! The flap never stays closed. The S-View screen on the Note 4 is useless. I can take a photo, I can browse my favorites, I can use a flashlight and I can take my bloody heart rate after I'm irritated. You'd lose your LED notifications, and you still need to open to case the see who called or texted. What's the purpose of this? I'm going back to my Spigen Tough Armor case though it's bulky
Love the phone, love the battery. My favorite app always crashes (NY Rangers)...so I have a hate and love relationship right now. I'm truly hoping for Lollipop to be available soon....

Seems to be working for me (although I restored it using titanium backup). what problems are you having?
I had some strange issues with storage, although I have done the full monty on my note 4 (root, TWRP, custom rom) and I think I messed that up at one point. I also did the change that allows programs to read/write to the external SD card.

Picked up a Droid Turbo because I knew the N6 would be too big. Very glad i did, this thing is a beast. I haven't charged it since yesterday morning and have plenty to get through the rest of today.
