How you liking AOKP? Unfortunately, the Wallet update didn't fix the prepaid yet. Guess its more waiting time for me until I get confirmation that Money Network or Google fixed it before I try a new ROM. Gotta stick to Apex for the time being but I guess it isn't too bad.

First time I heard of Wug tether. I usually just use the built in tethering on my phone and use a user agent spoofer on Chrome for my laptop. Also stay away from using more than 2 GB of data a month so it doesn't throw any red flags. I'm on ATT though so maybe they detect things different. There's also Koush's tethering app which supposedly also bypasses detection.

That's why I love my Sprint Everything plan. I don't know how you guys stay with companies that slow down customers that use a lot of data or slows down their bandwidth.

As far as roms I'm using a newer one on my HTC EVO 4G that was ported over from the HTC View 4G Tablet. Everything (including HTC widgets) rotate to horizontal like on the tablet. It's still in beta as I'm a beta tester for it but its awesome. This ROM is also available for HTC EVO 3D as well. if any of you want the link so you can check it out, let me know.

Try a different modem? Did it start out of nowhere or was it always like that? If it just started recently maybe it just needs a restart or an app is not letting it get it. Different modem will help as well.

Speed Test Run just a few minutes ago.

UGKK7 modem with 3 runs average of 7 Mbps. Not bad for being on the wrong data plan. My Galaxy S never got above 5 Mbps so maybe AT&T removed the cap recently?

Finally got around to installing the Official AOKP for the Galaxy S with Glitch Kernel and I must say this ROM is flying! This is the ICS I was expecting to see on the Galaxy S. It feels so different and quick all around. If you guys have a Galaxy S (Captivate, Vibrant, international version) and looking to updating to ICS, this is the ROM to try. Speed and battery life seem to be great so far and AOKP is full of customizations.

Damn...Did you update your bootloader and modem as well since you moved up to 4.0.3? Supposedly it improves reception and other things. ATT recently got LTE in LA but the speeds were unimpressive. Maybe I was just doing a speed test in the afternoon but it was nowhere near LTE speeds and that was in their store. I know every time I walk into a Verizon store, that's the first thing they show. Its not what they did at ATT, I wonder why. lol.

One question, my coworker has been whining about the battery life of his new Galaxy Prime from Verizon. He said the battery life sucks and the main reason of it is that whenever his phone is out of 4G range, the phone constantly trying to find that signal, so that drains his battery a lot or something. I don't know. He's been saying like it's like the biggest POS.

Is there any solution to this other than carrying extra batteries?

Thank you guys.

Tell your friend to turn off 4G when not being used. Biggest battery drain ever especially when its looking for signal. The long way:

http://www.gottabemobile.com/2011/12...-battery-life/

There are widgets in the market that do the same function with one click on the homescreen but you'll have to ask the other Nexus users here about that. Another option is to flash a custom kernel with more power savings.

That was with everything on 4.0.2...Is this in addition to the rom I am running now or is it already built into it?

Have him do the Franko kernel app like I was told to us where it turns 1 core off at sleep. Also toggle 4G off and on

Google released different bootloaders per version. For 4.0.3 ROMs its PRIMEXXKL01:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1403133

You flash it using fastboot at the fastboot menu when you hold Volume Up + Down + Power. Just make sure you follow all the directions properly. 4.0.4 ROMs have a different bootloader I believe but I haven't tried any 4.0.4 ROMs since they're not officially in AOSP yet. Also flashing radios/modems is safest using fastboot instead of CWM but I see the thread say to use CWM. lol.

The bootloaders supposedly enhance the radio, wifi, and other things but there's no official changelogs so who knows.

Better thread for bootloaders, radios for LTE/CDMA Galaxus Nexus:

http://rootzwiki.com/topic/12866-rad...ed-feb-4-2012/

Command to flash. Must have fastboot installed in your tools directory of ADB:

Code:
fastboot flash bootloader nameofbootloader.img

Any one try TSF Shell yet?

Its $17 in the market but if you know the right places...Gonna give it a run just to see how it is but I doubt I'd keep it. Been switching between Trebuchet and Apex Launcher at the moment since they get the job done.

I know rumors should be taken with a grain of salt, but if the GSIII rumors prove to be true, holy hell.

Latest Ive heard:
-Quad core
-4.8" 1080p(!) screen
-ICS
-Ceramic casing
-Smaller then Galaxy Nexus
-Debut sometime this month, UK release in April

-8mp rear camera (thats the most frequent spec Ive seen)

My decision to wait for the SIII may be a good one.

God damn! The specs....

I don't regret not waiting for the GSIII. Cause I waited 8 months for the Nexus and multiple times before it came out and wanted to throw my iPhone out my window many times before that.

My only regret is not buying unlocked.... should have done what you guys do, buy and sell phones unlocked...

Speaking of TMo (somewhat old news) - theyve recently canned plans to release HSPA+ 84 and are instead going straight to LTE

Speaking with us this morning at Mobile World Congress, T-Mobile USA's Andrew Sherrard confirmed that the carrier would proceed straight to its just-announced LTE network after wrapping deployment of 42Mbps HSPA+, already a high watermark for HSPA+ in the US that'll be supported on upcoming devices like the HTC One S and Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G.

........

To be successful, both 84Mbps and LTE require the same surgical refarming of PCS upfront, which will reduce the network's total 2G capacity as its subscribers transition to 3G-capable devices. Sherrard notes that T-Mobile won't be selling any more handsets that don't support 3G, which means that the total 2G load on the network will reduce over time; in other words, no one should feel an impact from losing that 2G capacity
http://www.theverge.com/2012/2/28/28...usa-84mbps-lte

I honestly had no idea that they still offered 2G phones.

You need to flash GApps on top of the ROM without wiping. Get the appropriate one from the thread or here are the universal ones:

goo-inside.me/gapps/

You'll probably want the latest one with ics in the name

Yes. Its pentaband so it'll work on pretty much any GSM network in the world 2G, 3G, "4G".

Its going to take a while getting used to calling the Market the "Play Store". Kind of a dumb name IMO, and the new "Play Music" icon is ugly.

Seriously? I guess AT&T must really be congested here in LA cause their "4G" doesn't even get close to half of that.
