Cool. Thank you. I've moved most of the shit to my SD card and it still comes up with that message. The only reason why I bought a fancy phone was because I needed my work email. I have maybe 200 pictures and I have downloaded Words with Friends, one Kindle book, and Angry Birds. Otherwise, it is pretty much same as when I bought it.

Which phone do you have again? If you're rooted you can install apps that can clear cache files, etc. But I don't see how that could cause your low storage space. I've only seen it happen with Apps install and certain custom ROMs. I personally use these two to clear my cache and other crap on my phone once in a while when I run a ROM long enough but they need root:

Haha. I've been using Android for a while so I know it fairly well on a non-programming level. Not enough to create my own ROM yet but I do have an idea of how to do it. Just have no programming/linux background and really don't have much time to. I really learn by trial and error as everything is reversible and its fairly hard to brick your phone if you know the basics. I've also been flashing/modding all my phones that I've ever used back to my flip phone days so luckily that sorta helps my understanding of how some things work. Its really amazing how young a lot of the ROM devs are at XDA. The majority of the devs are in their teens just FYI!

Yeah 4.0.5 is the next supposedly but also the minor 0.0.1 updates usually correspond to hardware/processor configuration which is why most devices are still at 4.0.3 and probably will be until something major changes. Unfortunately, people think automatically a higher number equals a lot of whole new changes which isn't true. If your hardware/configuration doesn't need that 0.0.1 change then its the reason why you're not on that update yet.

If you are stock and rooted, it may not install the update file. Usually, the stock update.zip does a check of some things in regards to the system files, recovery and other things before flashing to avoid any bricks. If it detects an anomaly, rooting in this case, it won't continue with the flash. Its always best to unroot just to avoid any issues with stock updates.

Ahh okay. Yeah HTC and their partitioning issues. Fixed it in their recent phones but the old phones can't be fixed with an OTA. A custom ROM can fix it. My suggestion is to root the phone and run SD Maid Manager and Cache Cleaner once in a while. I bet it has something to do with cache accumulating over time and not being purged. You could manually go into each app in the settings --> Applications --> All and "Clear Cache" on all of the apps which does the same thing without root. From my quick search, HTC Mail, GMail, SMS cache get too big so just clear them and it should free up some space.

Ahh ok. It's weird. Says there is a shit ton of space but then shuts down apps at the same time. Just annoying. I like the phone but this may drive me to buy a new one.

I thought it was a little on the big side when I played with one my buddy just got the other day. It isn't unbearable by any means but I am actually rather happy with the form factory and size of my GN. I always thought my Thunderbolt was to chunky coming from my Incredible which I absolutely loved but desperately wanted a bigger screen on.


Not very happy that right now there are no plans for a HTC One device on Verizon. I hope something with similar specs comes out from HTC for Verizon soon as I really want to get rid of my GN as the signal issues are starting to drive me nuts as well as the camera sometimes. Other than that I love it.

Have you tried the different radios/modems out there on XDA? Supposedly 4.0.5 will be fixing the radio issues on the CDMA version. I have no issues on the GSM version so I'm guessing Verizon's network is messing up somewhere.

I wish Otterbox would make a 3rd model that's even less bulky... but still have ample protection. When I picked up the "like-new" Galaxy Nexus last week, it came with the Otterbox Commuter (the previous owner had it since day 1), while I like how much protection it has, it's just too bulky, it's making Swyping rather hard one handed (I don't have big hands), at the same time, I'm paranoid about dropping it. I've since... bought 2 other cases only to return them within 24 hours because while they were slick and a lot less bulky, they just didn't protect enough (corners were kinda exposed). I'm probably going to order that SGP Hybrid, I just hate the wait for delivery (here in Canada).

So you picked one up? How you liking it? If you haven't already and are planning to root, I suggest you take a look at AOKP and Franco's kernel. The phone is amazing with both on it. Custom 4.0.4 ROMS should be coming soon but I'm going to wait until Franco builds a kernel for them. As far as case suggestions, the Neo Hybrid works great and since its dual layer it should protect it from drops. Its pretty slim as well so its a plus. The Diztronic case is pretty slim as well and slightly feels better since its more rubbery. The Neo Hybrid would probably fare better when dropped though.

Its a lot simpler with a Nexus device. Lol. Plus the factory Fastboot images can be downloaded directly straight from Google if you ever want to go back to stock.

These allow you to flash to stock from any state using Fastboot if you ever mess up your custom ROM. I just updated my bootloader to the latest version, PRIMELA03, just because. Probably won't notice too much of a difference. Contemplating on flashing the XXLA02 radio but currently running UGLA04 and having no issues as the "UG" correspond to North America while "XX" correspond to Europe so not sure if its better.

For the people who are interested in Rooting and installing a custom ROM on the Galaxy Nexus (GSM and CDMA), take a look at WugFresh's Galaxy Nexus Toolkit:

Everything you need to unlock the bootloader, root, flash a custom ROM, and go back to Stock is all there in a click and go method. Just make sure to back up your IMEI just in case. Otherwise, use the factory images as the last resort (which is the same method WugFresh uses) to return back to stock state.

man 4.0.4 is sooooo much better. This is what should have been released back in december. No more horrible lag with the browsers, while i havent yet fully tested the battery I think its a lot better.

I'm gonna be sticking to stock ROM for a while.

That's what I'm hearing. 4.0.4 is supposedly a lot smoother all around. I'm also waiting until AOKP updates a more stable build with 4.0.4. Franco's kernel with 4.0.3 is awesome on my phone right now and I haven't felt the need to flash anything else. Although, I'm hearing the 4.0.4 ROMs with Franco's kernel push it even faster if that's possible.

ASUS seems to have fixed the Random Reboots that people were suffering from on the Transformers and some of the devs got Overclocked kernels running which was expected. Running a modded stock at 1.5 GHz and I love it. Its so smooth right now compared to HC. ICS feels so different on the Tegra 2s.

I was reading sommething about the kernels and that actually none of the kernels really do much for performance or battery. On demand is the best for battery and smartassv2 was best for performance.

Yeah that sucks. He's been making kernels for the Galaxy Note and the Nexus. I guess he's been too busy working on both cause his kernels kicks ass on the Nexus.

Yeah. Posted it a few pages back somewhere here. The conclusion was that UV yielded very little battery savings so its really not worth it unless you need every minute of your battery life.

ohh didnt see that, some dude on the NS forum in xda posted benchmarks for all that stuff he said that UV at most will save you 2%, but your phone becomes unstable so if you get a reboot its much worse.

UGLC1. Flash using CWM or fastboot. Just flashed it over UGLA4. Had great results with UGLA4 but gonna try this for now. My WiFi seems to be a bit stronger but from my understanding the radios shouldn't affect that. Its usually kernel related but I'm not gonna complain. lol.
