Im still learning everyday... thats GB my friend... just needs to be tweaked alil it seems...
May take a few weeks before they get the main bugs out... it will happen eventually...
this is why I went with root, to avoid the waiting and being able to customize way beyond the norm...

is it only your lockscreen that lags?? Because I get that sometimes too but I have my CPU go slow when the phones asleep so when I turn the screen on right away and swipe the thing doesnt move right away with it. But I've never had any screen lag on my phone.

What does it do when you try to connect to a computer? I had to enable "Video Chat Enhancements" in my GMail Mail Settings --> Labs for it to work Phone <--> PC. I couldn't see my phone's video on my computer before I ticked that setting for some reason and it is off by default. Otherwise, everything works perfectly on my Galaxy S, Phone <--> Phone and Phone <--> PC.

Here's a video demonstrating the Google Video Talk on a Galaxy S running CM 7.1 Nightlies:

The latest hacked Google Video Talk update allows you to switch between the cameras. It works perfectly on my Galaxy S exactly like the video above.

Ugh. I was excited for the Galaxy S2 but it has the same speaker design!! It's still at the bottom!! I really hate that because I play music a lot and I don't like to face the phone down. I guess I'll just skip on the S2 and look for something else.

edit: just tried that, forgot my schools email uses gmail servers. Doesnt work still. Same problem.
edit again: Interesting, I think I know why thats happening. CM7.1 is still not out for the NS. This ROM is using one of the nightlies thats based off of 2.3.4 so 7.1 should be coming soon and hopefully then it will be fixed.

ohh interesting, how did you call yourself haha. And I'll try that, I called up a friend and he said that all he saw was my avatar, but I was able to see him perfectly fine. He was able to hear me, just got no video

If you don't want to flash the whole GApps, then flash just the modified/hacked 1.3 Google Talk from this thread. I'm using the Xilard's v3 version found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=433
It contains 3 files: Talk.apk, libtalk_jni.so, and GoogleFrameworks.apk
You have to try each zip file at the OP though and test which one works. To call myself, I have multiple GMail accounts. So I'm signed into my primary on my phone and then signed into another on my PC. I call myself phone to PC or PC to phone and it works perfectly.

New Droid Bionic leaks:
Source: http://phandroid.com/2011/06/06/even...medium=twitter
Looks pretty slick. Hopefully, Motorola follows through on the possibility of unlocking that bootloader.
A 4.5-inch qHD display will bring a new “3D” MotoBlur interface to our eyes, a version of Blur that will run on top of Android 2.3.4. We also get a peek at the Bionic’s new Droid Eye, which looks as menacing as ever. Motorola wasn’t kidding when they said they were revamping the Bionic we first saw at CES, and they have at least accomplished their goal for one Android blogger. I am officially excited about the Bionic after being slightly unimpressed during its initial showing.

Also, the team responsible for bringing CyangenMod on the Galaxy S phones just received a Galaxy S2 from Samsung. They're already working on porting Cyangenmod to the Galaxy S2. Hopefully, the US variant won't be too different from the international version like how it is now. It looks like Samsung is starting to support devs like HTC so this is good news.

^Pretty cool. Have you tried the Google Video Talk Hack? It seems to work fine on Galaxy Tabs running Gingerbread according to XDA users. More info here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&highlight=tab
The noob-friendly method:
https://market.android.com/details?i....talkinstaller (Make Backups!)
Also give CyanogenMod 7 a try. It'll blow your mind even more if you think a stock custom build is fast. The great thing about the Tabs is that they don't have to worry so much about the Modem issues so almost everything works already.

What's your About Phone say. If its 2.3.4 it should work. All CM 7 nightlies are 2.3.4 right now I believe. You have to use the correct GApps. The one from 0503 is the one with the working Google Video Talk. CM and team pulled that one cause they said some phones had incompatibilities. I'm not sure which ones cause it works perfectly on mine and has been ever since. You can get that 0503 GApps from here:

Looks like the Sensation has the same signal issues as the iphone...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQaBK...layer_embedded
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ruc1U...layer_embedded
the iphone does influence other manufacturers.
Remember when Steve Jobs told everyone that the iPhone 4 had to be held correctly to avoid signal loss and dropped calls? Well, it looks like that same “death grip” problem may be affecting the HTC Sensation. When the Sensation is held in a certain way, it loses signal as well as its Bluetooth and WiFi connection.
According to some tests run by Nordic Hardware, the problem may be caused by the phone’s back cover. The unibody design of the HTC Sensation is actually a removable battery cover made of metal and a few plastic patches that function as antennae. If you hand covers one of the patches, the radio performance of the Bluetooth and WiFi are noticeably reduced.
The video below demonstrates how laying the device on your palm, covering the back plate where the antennae are located, can cause Bluetooth audio playback to stop. It’s not clear at this point if a phone case, such as what was given for the iPhone 4, will help with the matter.

but the death grip has always been there right?? Its just in different places in different phones and you literally need to give it a death grip.
that whole iphone thing was blown out of proportion

i'm seeing all these new phones out, I still think I'll take my NS device over everyone of those. And I'll probably keep updating to each new google phone in the future as long as the hardware is relatively good.

One of the Engadget comments captured it best with Steve's year of the Copycats quote. lol. Guess he didn't mention it would be them.
But seriously though, the gray background in the notification dropdown is downright fugly. It doesn't even seem Apple like. Maybe there's a way to change it or you'll probably have to jailbreak it.

Gingerbread doesnt show much of speed increase I hear, the major improvement on speed came with froyo, GB is probably tweaked a ltl better. If you want more speed, root your phone and put on a custom ROM.

And this is why I don't wait for manufacturers to update their firmwares. They bring bugs and issues then take a while to fix them even after waiting for them. With custom ROMs, bugs and issues get squashed almost instantaneously because the devs are customizing the phones that they are using on a daily basis.
I know custom ROMs aren't for everyone but its really not that hard if you take some time to read. They made it so much more noob friendly nowadays to flash a custom ROM with ROM Manager. XDA has had a Sense 3.0 build for almost all the HTC phones since last month. Something you'll never see HTC do because they'll lose sales on the HTC EVO 3D. Cyanogenmod Nightlies have been running 2.3.4 since last month as well and a good majority of Android phones are capable of running it. Most custom ROMs are as stable as stock ones, if not, more in my opinion.

Oh and yes, the Gingerbread update for the Evo 4G does kill Netflix. Only for the stock Gingerbread update for some reason though. It still works with Cyanogenmod and the many other custom ROMs on XDA. They said they're working to fix it though so I'm sure it'll be updated any time now.

If you have EVO yes thats a prob and no 4G. HTC will be updating again to Android 2.3.4 as the 1st update was 2.3.3. We'll also see updated Sense interface as were still on Seense 1.0. Rumor is we'll see Sense 2.1 with some 3.0 features as well. This update is to happen June 9th. My phone is showing 4 VM's also the netflix app doesn't work on 2.3.3 but does on 2.3.4. HTC and Netflix are working on this as we speak. The Nexus phones are the only phones with 2.3.4 so far. Why HTC pushed out this half assed rom is beyond me but Sprint states its so people could report back what isn't working on the phone. I can't wait for the Sense 3.0 features if they are true. I love the speed of 2.3 and how the frames fade when u switch screens. I don't notice anything yet that's different. I can't for june 9th.
I did notice the fading of the screen. Did you set the phone to switch to speaker when you flip it over? Pretty neat feature. Handset SMS also improved as are Cut and Paste function.

Verizon just confirmed Galaxy S2 shipping some time in July like Sprint:
Source: http://www.computerworld.com/s/artic..._start_in_July
The devs are working hard on CyanogenMod for the international version of the Galaxy S2 ever since they got phones from Samsung. Hopefully, the US variants will be just a kernel change like how it is now for the Galaxy S for the most part.
A Verizon spokeswoman said via email that the device is expected to go on sale by the carrier in July, but added that there's "no date just yet." Verizon is reported by Engadget to be using the name "Samsung Galaxy S 2 Function," for the device. Engadget adds that AT&T will use "Samsung Galaxy S 2 Attain" and Sprint will use "Samsung Galaxy S 2 Within."
