It wasn't even boarding as he didn't hit him from behind into the boards. Had it happened anywhere on the ice besides right by the dasher I don't think there is any injury or any penalty call.

No bias from me, I don't care about either of the teams or players involved. I'm just calling it like I see it, and I'm seeing a minor push from behind with no contact to the head that unfortunately happened in a bad spot on the ice and lead to an injury.
On Sportsnet here, they were showing a similar style "light" hit from behind that Lapierre did just a couple years back to Nichols who also went face first into the boards. That got Lapierre 4 games.

So, it'll be interesting to see what Shanny does here.

Well apparently they are offering him an "in person" hearing so it could exceed 5 games and he's suspended until the hearing (which hasn't been set yet). I feel they are taking a pretty liberal interpretation of the rules though because his hearing is for boarding. I don't see how boarding can apply in a situation where both players are traveling parallel to the boards.

Shanny has been handing out some big suspensions so far this year. What we've seen him do in the past apparently sets no precedent for what he's going to do this season.

I consider ending 0-0 with a 5 on 3 for 1:30 a won period.

What's the difference between a triangle and the Flyers?

A triangle has 3 points, and 3 strong lines...

Now I'm curious to see who gets a longer suspension, Lapierre or McLoed. To me McLoed's hit was much more violent than Lapierre's. Kronwall got absolutely crushed on that hit.

Lapierre get 5 games. Honestly, I like Shanny's explanation on this one too only because he saw it pretty much the same way I saw it (except I missed the toe pick on the kick plate).

Since Moogelino claims that Shanaban is shameless Detroit homer, I expect nothing less than 10 games.

I've heard McLoed is a pretty straight up player and this hit was out of character for him. 10 would surprise me (not that I'd disagree with it) but I expect him to get more than 5. 8 is the magic number to make me think Shanny head has successfully been pulled from his ass.

Compared to Lapierre's hit, McLoeds was more brutal and had no "hockey play gone bad" factor plus he directly crushed Kronwall's head.

After watching the highlights against the coyotes I understand why Alice Cooper abandoned Detroit and the wings.

Fleury tries it every now and then, usually doesn't get it out of his own zone though

When the other team pulls their goalie, I'm the guy in the garden screaming, "give it to Tuukka!"

Doesn't surprise me that Smith was able to score a goal...he's one of the best puck-handling goalies in the League.

It's neat when it happens.
