Soupy with the garbage at the end.

Went tonight, was a great 56 minutes played by Fleury and the Pens That call on Orpik and then Staal really sealed the deal. Didn't have luxury of replay really at the game so i"ll refrain from commenting lol

That staal penalty was garbage and definitely sealed the fate of the game, but Pens only played 56 mins.

From what I saw, the Pens got more than their fair share of gifts from the refs.

I seriously think that they have tuned out Terry Murray. Seriously.

This team is sinking fast....seriously fast.

Something serious needs to be done soon....very soon.

New coach? Big trade? Both?

Do something Deano....because all I see now is the Kings moving up the draft board.

Seriously.

Wow...you really must be upset.

Well, slumps happen, dude. They just need to make the playoffs and anything can happen there.

And honestly, I think Lombardi has a shot at some decent players coming up. He just needs to decide how much in-love he is with his pipeline.

I'm not a myopic fan....I'm a realist....always have been.

Coaching is the bigger problem IMHO.

This team has shown it can be a top team in the league (early this season they were a BEAST!).....but now they are Jekyl and Hyde.

That screams coaching failures.

I dunno about that. Maybe I don't watch as many Kings games as you...but, in the games I've seen, I think it is more the growing pains of a young team that does not bring it every period.

That being said, your problems do somewhat mirror Chicago's. They are horrifically inconsistent. Their inability to hold 3rd periods is hair-pulling...and so is the terrible PK percentage. But, is it Coach Q's fault? I disagree...It is still more the inconsistent play of the newbies and the players still trying to get everyone on the same page (i.e. role).

So, we're going to chalk up your thinking of Poni and Mitchell as being keys to the Kings success as you being a non-realist, yes?

Cuz, c'mon!

I'll see losing to the Leafs and raise you losses (twice) to the Oilers and the Devils.

So, when I went with stats last season about how a no-name goalie could do it, I was myopic...but, in your case, it is not?

Well...I won't argue any more with you on this one (RE: Mitchell and Poni). Just still think it is more a coincidence than anything else.

But, in all seriousness, I don't think Waldorf is myopic.

Seriously? Seriously?

No one ever said a no name goalie couldn't do it. What I(we) did was point to stats and history that showed its not as likely. Not impossible but you'll have a better chance with a proven goaltender. The stats prove that did they not? or are you denying that as well?

Didn't mean to strike a nerve. But, I never believed the past systems to work well considering how the recent trend had proven otherwise. And I kept saying that the recent winners were not using a franchise-type goaltender.

Look at your own goalie who was a Cup winner. He was a no-name until his play in the 2 Duck runs...

And besides, we all know Chicago was trying to be Detroit Part 2 (i.e. with Osgood)...and so, the success of the team was predicated on one thing: a puck-possession play that was supported by a swift and mobile D.

Chicago didn't need a name-brand goalie.

Anyhow, friends?

And really, I think that debate is never going to go anywhere. I just recall you guys kept harping on Chicago's impossible chance on winning a Cup and me saying it was possible. Traditional stats versus recent trends.

Anyhow, water under the bridge.

And there we have the root of our problem. Revisionist history. I would never say anything is impossible. Leafs making the playoffs this year excluded.
