Still not sure if I agree with awarding Ellis the top D-man award for the tourney...
Senior Moderator
I'm pretty sure Waldorf is in Cloud 9 with Schenn getting the MVP award...
The sizzle in the Steak
My guess is that during the tourney you guys were not drinking the usual oat sodas before the games.

You mocked Poni....so the call was placed to Kitsyn and the Ruskies to turn it on in the 3rd.
dom....don't mock teh Russians The old ties never die.
You were so close to teh goldz......but you had to mock.
Your angy Leaf hatred of Poni lead you down the wrong path.
'tis a shame.
In the end the Kings have 3 medal winners.
I'm happy the Kings have Little Schenn & Gold medal winner Maxim Kitsyn

Nice article written by McKenzie over at TSN about the debacle yesterday...For the bitterness, there are definitely good memories. Mine: 2007.

Um...Kitsyn had less to do with the win than the Canadians big-time choke job, dude.
But, I suppose you need a new prospect crush now that Schenn can't lead a team with a 3-0 lead.

folded....anyone can see that....but then again...maybe not
Kitsyn and Little Schenn in the system = priceless!
Who cares who won the junior mess.....in the end, Kings win
The sizzle in the Steak
...now if only Poni and Mitchell were not made of glass

The chances of the Kings signing Kitsyn high...? Russian prospects seem to be very hard to get over to NA these days...
The sizzle in the Steak
Picture of Burke this morning when he heard the news that Little Schenn was named MVP..........oh wait.........never mind. This pic is from when Little Schenn was drafted by the Kings.
meh....either way, same expression.....you get the idea.

first game not for over a week and you think he missed the flight and didn't go back to the motherland to celebrate? that's as likely as Poni being the Kings MVP...... just sayin'.. the bong.. put it down.. you've smoked way too much this week.. Soooo much so you forgot all about Schenn....

Leafs just couldn't stand team Canada having all the attention could they.
They went and blew a 5-2 lead in the 3rd with 13 minutes left just to prove they're the biggest chokers in Canada.
Someone please revoke this franchise so I'm forced to cheer for a decent team.
Yet they were lucky enough to win it in a shootout. And what a shootout goal by Grabovski

And another underrated Canadian named Sharp...who is probably one of the most underrated 2-way forwards.
I mean, you could cheer for Waldorf's Kings. But, all they got is Doughty. And a choker named Schenn.

Devils trade langenbrunner to stars
DALLAS -- Veteran winger Jamie Langenbrunner is returning to Dallas after the New Jersey Devils traded their captain to the Pacific Division-leading Stars.
Langenbrunner was drafted by Dallas and began his career there. He was part of the Stars' only Stanley Cup championship in 1999, then was traded to New Jersey in 2002 and part of the Devils' championship in 2003.
New Jersey gets a conditional third-round 2011 draft pick in the trade announced Friday. That could become a second-round pick if the Stars win a first-round playoff series or they re-sign Langenbrunner, who can become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

*The Leafs and Kings are talking. Positive about this. I am not going to say they are talking Schenn, but they are talking.
*The Kings are also talking to Columbus...this could be a blockbuster..more on the details to come.
*The Sabres are talking to the Flames and perhaps the Kings as well. Nothing will happen until the Sabres sale is official...I don't think so at least.
* Teams are scouting Sheldon Souray...however reports are that Sheldon isn't really blowing the doors off in Hershey. NJ is among the possible destinations for Souray.
More to come today including at least 4 podcasts...
1. Kevin Allen about 24/7 and where the next Winter Classic may be headed.
2. Mark Spector on the WJC and what hockey means to Canadians as opposed to Americans.
3. Hockeybuzz Live recorded a few nights ago.
4. A new podcast I am calling, "This Week in the NHL" featuring a round table discussion with three veteran hockey reporters discussing the subjects at hand. This episode featured myself along with Kevin Allen, Mark Spector, and Tim Panaccio. Taping this one at 5pm May be able to listen in on a feed of that recording. Not certain yet.

A guy at the local taco bell told me Schenn to Toronto for a bag of pucks.....since he has that whole shoulder separation thing, and since he clearly failed Canada.

Good News!!! Poni and Mitchell answered the plea!!!
They both will be back in the lineup for Saturday's game
