Only the NHL puts Mario on the ice at 9:30 What else do they have going on there today that forced them to be this game on at 9:30.

Alumni game was cool, although all I could do was listen to it. Anxiously waiting to see if I'm going to be out in the rain tomorrow or if there will be rain delays, I'm betting on the game being played on Sunday, but just have to wait and see

and Hawks are in 8th? No wonder this thread died, yummy isn't whoring it up every 5 minutes

It's called being out of town. I'm not a fair-weathered fan. Nice try.

I'm hearing 8:00 tonight due to the rain. Tough day for the winter classic, it's 50+ degrees in southern NH.

Too bad about that ice. May as well have played with a tennis ball.

I get its a great event to be at, but it must suck to actually watch the game. Even the angles on TV were terrible.

Don't think I heard any of the players say it was that bad.

Viewing on TV was a little off, with cameras being further away from ice, but I loved the overhead camera shots.

You could see they were all struggling with the puck. It wasn't sitting still.

I wish they had left it on the overhead camera the whole game.

Caps are an interesting team. Tons of talent but it seemed to be the role players getting it done yesterday. And that's a good thing. I don't think I heard Semin or Backstrom the entire game.

Well for yesterdays game you didn't hear big names from both sides. I watched a little today with the CBC feed, they have the biggest hard-on's for Crosby and Pittsburgh, so they talked a lot about them.

Really? I hadn't noticed.

I watched a lot of the NBC feed because the leaf game was on CBC but there's only so much Mike Milbury I can take.

But they're getting better and better.

According to the experts the Americans are better than than were last year and Canada isn't so I'm not expecting much. But it should be great game as they always are.

Last year in Boston it sat still too much and it took the players a while to adjust to push the puck harder when passing. I think the elements is all part of the fun and challenge of the classic. It's colder, you may have snow or rain, you may have the wind in your eyes. Winning it seems to come down to the ability to adapt to the conditions or possibly pure luck.

I think Moog should lobby for one in Los Angeles on that synthetic ice.

Don't know about that. But if you say so. I could have sworn they announced he got poked in the eye. Which is why he never returned.

Yeah, Erskine's left hand jab him twice in the face, then Rupp called mercy.

Thanks for clearing it up, thought it was his bra strap or his panties started running up on him. What a pussy to start a fight and then ask to stop, because he wasn't going to win.

It was a good fight. Dood got poked in the eye, couldn't see and stopped the fight. Not sure what your point is if you have one.

Refresh my memory. What did he say on 24/7 that got your panties in a bunch? B/c this is the first time you've mentioned it, yet it seemed to really upset you.

Players stop fights all the time when they're bleeding or when they get tired, from what i saw, Rupp couldn't keep his eye open, but hopefully we'll see more on Wed's 24/7.

Regardless of who won the game, it was an awesome once in a lifetime experience, and I had a blast at the game. Our seats were great, and I could see everything. Heard that the TV angles sucked, that's really a shame, because the vantage point that we had at the game was incredible, even people in the 500's said that they could see everything. I have a ton of pics, I'll post some up in the next day or 2

Luc Robitaille and the Kings have been lobbying the NHL and Bettman for quite some time now for a Winter Classic in LA. One of the sites would have it at Dodger Stadium.

Irony: It was colder in LA this year than it was in Pittsburgh.

No need for synthetic ice......heck the Kings and Ranger played outdoors in Vegas in 90F back in the day....and the ice was better than it was in Pittsburgh
