Strong words from a guy who was a healthy scratch in the Finals.

Ah...yeah, heard that.

Not exactly what you'd expect a gracious winner to say. Then again, Pronger did his part of -stirring too...and I'm sure he'll have a comeback come tomorrow's press conference with the Flyers.

Pronger was voted the most dirty player by his peers, no...? So, it's not exactly that he was well-liked...

Heck, we don't even know if him and Richards truly did get along. As Farber of CNNSI said, when Richards called out his team after Game 5 as being too cocky, was that a veiled shot at Pronger...? Perhaps. And he didn't exactly come to the guy's aid when the Chicago Tribune ran that Chrissy Pronger thing.

I just heard/saw this last night. Burish is absolutely right, but probably not the best way to get his point across.

Agreed. He let in too many soft goals against the Hawks. I would have started Boucher in the last game. Anyways, it will be interesting to see what the Flyers do at goalie during the off-season. I don't think they can keep Emery, Leignton AND Boucher. I've heard rumors that Carter may be trade bait for a top-tier tender which would make at least one of the others expendable.

are you kidding? these are HOCKEY players! calling another an idiot just doesn't seem too harsh, to me, given they beat each other up physically as 'part of the game'.

Yeah, Burish's comments were a little over the top. He probably got lost in the moment. But, I'm kinda with srika on this one.

Also, I like Pronger.

He's a great hockey player. Does he play dirty? Define dirty in hockey. Intent to injure? I haven't seen that from him.

He isn't dirty at all. Being suspended 7 times doesn't make someone dirty. Just misunderstood.

But he's still a great player.

I think Pronger plays the game with his elbows permanently up.

And if he's effective, well, I can name a few other great D-men who are amazing who do not play in that gray area Prongs likes to find himself him: Doughty, Keith, Lidstrom, Weber...

I hear ya, but none of those D-Men are as feared as Pronger. There's something to be said for that.

Is he really feared...?

Or is it more worry that players know he'll do a blindside hit that he won't be called for...? Cuz, sure...there were "fearsome" players like skating in open ice with Scott Stevens bearing down on you. But, Pronger...? I don't seem to get that impression with him by listening to players...?

More like 8.

But I don't think eye-gouging was suspend-able. So 7 real suspensions.

It's classless. Do your talking with your play on the ice. If you have a problem with someone do something about it during the game. Be a gracious winner regardless of how you feel about the opposition. But the again we are talking about a guy who had zero points in the playoffs so I guess he wanted to be remembered for something.

No doubt Burish did something that probably would be frowned upon by Coach Q and Toews et al...but, the guy's always has been quite colorful on and off the ice.

I am not excusing him. But, then again, I do agree...Pronger's an idiot. Alot of his antics in hindsight during the finals were really stupid. And truthfully, he didn't have a great game (as per what Burish said).

And again, I'm absolutely sure Prongs will have something to shoot back as he's apt to do (i.e. something about Burish being a healthy scratch for Game 6, etc. etc. etc.)...

have you heard these teams talking to each other from the sidelines? they say a lot of nasty sh*t. one of the stations has a segment called "from the field" or something where you can actually hear what they say to one another. They have many nasty verbal exchanges on the ice, too.

And not to keep on the Hawks caps issues but its a hot topic in these parts. They were talking about it on Leafs Lunch

Apparently they have 57.5 Mill already committed to next season which will have a 57 Mill Cap. If they dump Huet in the minors that free's up 5+ and if they somehow dump Campbell's 7, they should have more than enough to resign the few RFA's they have. Problem is, they'll likely have to throw in a Sharp or Versteeg to get someone to take Campbell.

It's too bad he was not invited to view Game 5. He has a role in making that winning team...

I am sure there will also be an injection of youth (as if they need to get younger) by management. So, role players like Eager, Burish, Madden will be let to walk...Again, I pray Sharpie is not let go in a trade...he's IMO part of the core.

Versteeg...doable. Makarov or someone else can easily fill that role...

Personally, I'd like to thank Chrissy Pronger for being a goon. His antics allowed him to sit for 2 minutes in the Penalty Box in Game 6 while the Blackhawks scored a goal.

I think the Blackhawks have to keep guys like Sharp and Big Buf. Unfortunately, the other guys will not be able to be fit under the cap-unless Hossa, etc restructure their contracts.

Obviously there is tonnes of chirping between the benches and on the ice but keep it there. And if you have a problem with someone then do something about it, not talk about it after the fact.

That's awesome that Tallon is getting a ring.

But, before everyone deifies him...he did have his faults. Barry Rozner had a nice article about him in the Daily Herald today about some of the problems he caused as well...still, this entire line-up was him. But, credit needs to go out to Bowman(s) and Coach Q for taking them to the finish line.

And -city on Pronger...he finally got caught for his antics that he got away with in Games 1-3...

so much for that theory that most of you have that nobody cares (cared) about this Stanley Cup... lol guys

Blackhawks Stanley cup-winning game was the most watched NHL game in 36 years.
