Looks like it will no longer be sitting higher than the headlights. At least that's what I see in those camoed pics.

Not perfect, but its what needed to be done at this point.

I'm not betting the 5G will look any better....given Acura's current track record, I'm not even going to start holding my breath.

It still looks like the upper part which should be hood is still the grill which NEEDS to go.

Maybe after the tape is removed it will look semi-decent?

Until they get rid of that silver beak, I will never buy this car or any Acura from 2009 to the current year.

I can't stand those massive reflectors. They need to tone it down a bit. It looks like they may have in one of those shots...

Well said.

and as Moog said...the squatting dogs ass has to go too.

Redesign is the only hope for the TL.

you can fix the grille.. but until you re-design the entire rear end.. the car will always be a horrid sight.

The entire thing needs a redesign. It just looks wrong from so many angles. From the ugly beak to the 3.0CL trunk to the high belt line... it just doesn't work IMO. It's a shame b/c the technology behind the car is nice, but the thing is just hideous.

The new grille is a band-aid, but it won't cover the whole wound...

If I ever replace my 2nd Gen TL with a newer one it will be a 3G. The 4G is too damn ugly.

Although the newest TSX actually looks nice.

I guess we'll see but to my eye it doesn't look like it will extend into the hood like it does now. Which has been one of the main complaints concerning the TL's styling. I'll give Honda some credit and presume they're smart enough to fix something that looks to be a relatively easy thing to fix.

It looks like its body color in this pic, but its still part of the grill.

The only thing that will make it look better is an invisibility cloak

Fixing the grille, fine. But there are still other problems (overall size, overhangs, huge rear, etc.). Just needs a complete redesign. It really is a shame. It could have been a hit had the styling been right from the beginning.

Should have just made the 4G an evolution of the 3G.

That said, the side profile of the car is great! It's the fugly nose that bothers me.

It's like the Acura team was trying to copy Cadillac Art and Science and something went wrong along the way.

As I said in an earlier thread the entire line-up is supposed to lose the beak for 2011.

i think the beak works very well for their SUVs (I know there are only 3 but still).

But for the sedan they need to downsize it, and refine it. it can be bold without being in-your-face. MB has no problem doing this with their grilles, the ML suv has a great grille. http://www.theautochannel.com/news/2...41781.1-lg.jpg

the plenum was really just a big metal (look) piece. it looked chunky and visually weighs down the front end of the sedans.

Hmmm, getting rid of the chrome strip and the rear reflectors does improve the rear a bit. If these changes are implemented correctly, the car might not look half bad. Still not good, but not the manatee it currently is....

Who's the AZer on here with a facelifted red RL? I like what he's done with the shield grille. That would look good on Acuras I think.
