Great pictures! It was great having you there as a representative in the field! Did you get a chance to ask your questions to the big boys at Acura?

Sly beat me to the punch w/ the official pics which were loaded on this along w/ some vid:

Not gonna post a bunch of redundant pics because I had my crappy Cybershot, but this was my favorite angle.

As I was joking in an earlier thread, went in with the bar set very low because of numerous premature ejaculations on the next, next, next NSX. But the pics do not do it justice, great stage presence (minus the unibrow) and better than expected. Hot.

They'd laugh, right up until the bone-stock GT-R rips them a new asshole at a stoplight.

This is coming from a guy who would never, ever get a GT-R. What you think about it is irrelevant, you must respect the performance it brings to the table.

And in no way, shape or form is the M5 or MB AMGs (save the SLS) a supercar.

I just got home about 15 minutes ago now and I'm flippin' exhausted.

I've got details to share in the coming days, I'm going to do as much as I can tomorrow night, unfortunately I gotta go back to work tomorrow morning and I don't yet know how I'm going to pull that off. lol

To give you guys a quick summary. I think the event was great. Spending time with the Acura team, was an even greater and honorable experience. They truly did make all of us feel that we have a purpose. We have a calling, and that is to stay true to what we have for years loved about Acura, none of that has changed, and the release of the NSX should solidify that. For year's we've been waiting for the NSX. It's gone through a few hurdles, but here it is, an actual concept that we can discuss and engage in conversations about amongst ourselves. We had a round table discussion with Mike Accavitti, head of Acura's Marketing division. He made it very clear. Acura is VERY serious about this iteration of the NSX, and they are working very hard at bringing this to production. This IS their focus. Along the way, we'll have new vehicles like the ILX, which by the way looks great in person.

Time will tell, but know that Acura is very serious, and Acura is listening to us.

As far as questions, I didn't get to ask the specific questions as our discussion was focused primarily on the event and the NSX, so I will continue working with our Acura contacts and try to see if we can arrange another meeting to raise those questions. So feel free to keep asking questions and we'll prioritize them. They are very serious about engaging with us, that's all I can say right now.

If you click the pics that I posted, those ARE the actual full res pics. Our forum software resizes them for veiwing purposes, but those are the high quality images. Each is like 8 or 9+ MB in size.

I will upload the full res ILX and RDX pics as well when I return home tonight.

If so, the NSX surely qualifies. V6 or not.

You guys are nuts. Perfect examples of cars that are not a supercars because they only have 6 cylinders.

the GTR's drivercan look down and into the cockpit of the NSX. It's like an SUV parked next to a normal car.

That's cause REAL sports cars are supposed to sit low to the ground. Seriously, the photo almost looks photoshopped, the Nissan looks ridiculously large.

Yes, REAL sports cars have wide fenders and sit low to achieve maximum corning ability.

I think you're missing the strategy and philosophy that Acura has had for many years and isn't going to be deviating from anytime soon. They've always been about performance while maintaining efficiency, and no matter the comparisons to other cars, you gotta admit, they have done a great job of living up to that while still delivering cars that perform. Sure they may not have the drivetrain we wish it had, or a particular engine setup, but they have built motors that perform exceedingly well considering the fact that they can maintain adequate to great gas mileage. My 2003 CL-S 6spd could attain 32+ mpg and others reported numbers even higher than that. Not many manufacturers can say they had a V6 that got numbers like that.

With so much to live up to with the last gen NSX, they surely aren't going to create a car that doesn't perform well. It's just that we don't know what level they are targeting, but with a V6 combined with a hybrid/electric system why couldn't this work? I mean all the GT-R has is a V6 with twin turbo. This will have a V6 combined with [multiple] electric motors. Instant power, no worry about turbo lag. And you think it may not rival the GT-R? I guess we'll see. It may not beat it, but if it can come close while delivering great gas mileage, it's still a very big win in my book.

Thanks dude, glad you enjoyed them. I had such a tough time getting pics out during the show. The venue and mobile providers did a very poor job at understanding just how much their systems would be impacted by the number of people attending the show. I was lucky enough to get a few pics posted to FB, and messaged Robb with some pics as well. Other than that, the data rates at the show was disappointing.

A little late to the game hahah...that video and pics were posted like 5 pages back. AND numbers and specs haven't been released yet so we can't pass judgement on whether or not it'll be a GT-R killer...was it ever perceived to supposedly be a GT-R killer?

Nope, but everyone has set the standard really high and expect Acura to deliver while some also at the same time are already faulting them. I don't understand the logic there.

I just think its funny that you guys say the "epitome of a sports car is that it's small and low to the ground" yet the Refrigerator Perry of supercars will absolutely annihilate most other small, sleek sports cars with ease....

If that were the case, the exige should have owned everything out there. I think too many people look at a handful of cars and say "that's the pedigree, that's what EVERY car should live up to". That certainly helps fuel the desire to make cars perform better, but there are the different forms of performance that people just neglect to mention. As much as I love lambo, I'd much rather own a Porsche. As fast as a GT-R is, I'd still rather own an NSX. Personally, I don't really care about how fast I can go, so long as I enjoy the feeling I get from getting into a car that I love, regardless of it's HP/TQ numbers. That's why I don't give a rats ass that I drive a slow GS-R (compared to other cars on the market now). It was fast for it's time, but it still has something that many cars still lack today.
