If Honda was paying attention to teh internets, they could/would have corrected course years ago before running the ship into shoals. At the risk of sounding like Moogs, seriously, they STILL refuse to lose teh power plenum.

Just had a thought, what if the commercial was supposed to feature Conan O'Brien in the Seinfeld part? Leno comes in and 'steals' it from him ... again.

what's surprising to me is, Jerry Seinfeld is known to be a Porsche fanatic... I can only imagine how much Acura put out to do this commercial (which is unusual).

During the SB, possibly. But I read that there are 30 second versions of each that will run afterwards.

Other than the design work, the fabrication and design of the rest of it, i'm speculating, is still going on regarding the new NSX. They did say the car for avengers was a one-off, so I don't doubt they did something like you said to get it out there and working for the movie.

Are you implying the next gen NSX will be a copy of the older, just updated?

What I am implying is that I don't even think a real concept model exist and anything they show as a concept is merely new skin on an old body. I usually would consider a concept as being a completely new frame and body even if it is one off.

I guess however they could have made it one off and made the door panels and interior roughly the same size so they didn't have to design an interior at this point.

However I would have no problem with an updated version being what be get as long as the price fits that which would be lower than the $89k it used to sell for.

Just found it interesting though and figured I would point it out in case no one noticed.

Many times, concepts are nothing more than clay models or shells. What we saw in Detorit was a real concept, but that doesn't mean it has to be functional in any way. Again, it's a concept, doesn't mean it has to have a new frame underneath it to be a concept and it certainly doesn't imply that the car they actually produce won't or will have a new frame. Now when they actually do create a functional version, that's a different story.

Don't see how this is any less than what we expect from other concepts.

Look at the Ford Shelby GR1 concept, a steering wheel plugged into the rear of the car so they could move it around. There was no interior.

Like I've said in other posts, they are VERY serious about making this car.

Of course they are, otherwise why would they have trumped it up with so much fanfare at the NAIAS and spend the dough for a big Superbowl commercial - they never did that with the HSC or the unnamed V10 f/r coupe.

We don't dispute that Honda is serious for realz this time.

I'm curious as to how aggressively they price this thing, seems that given the features its expected to have, we'll be lucky to see one in the showrooms around $120,000~ish. It's most natural competitor (for now) on paper would be an R8.
