I will say that the reviews and issues for the 5X in my research were much less and greater, respectively, for the 5X as opposed to the 6P. If you're dead set on that size, I'd look to the Moto X instead. Battery life is only okay, and there were some other issues.
I tried the free version of Verizon's visual voice mail and it was killing my phone. Battery was dropping like a brick. I was getting frustrated and possibly over eager, as I am near my 2 year limit with my phone.
Will take a look at the motoX.

Well, lay out your requirements. I gather that the size is pretty much near the top, no?
Best Buy should have a display Moto X for you to take a gander at. I stand by that it would be an excellent choice. It just came down to me that going from the 2014 to 2015 wasn't going to excite me enough to justify a purchase. I never had to deal with the RMA thing, though. The S7 has gotten some good reviews, but there is the Touchwiz thing.
Also, be aware of the $20 fee Verizon just put on if you don't BYOD.
I am coming form a 2013 MotoX, so 5.2" is big in my book... I already take it out of my pocket when I sit down anywhere, so 5.2" is tops for me.
This is a phone I use more for business than pleasure, although it sees double duty. I really can't afford for the phone to be "slow" or problematic or else I am going to lose money/clients.
I also keep my phones for two years, and don't want a slow, old phone one year into my rotation. Or one that will no longer receive updates, etc.
I like the motoX, but I feel like it is already a little long in the tooth, so to hope I get another two years of effectiveness from it is a risk.
both handsets have 2GB of ram, but the 5x has the 808 processor and the MotoX has the 801, plus the 5x has improved graphics ability (Adreno 418 vs 330).
Finally, the release date for the 5x is a full year after the MotoX, making me wonder how much longer Motorola is going to care about the 2g MotoX. I currently have a 1g MotoX I got in 1Q 2014, and I feel like Motorola dumped all interest in it a long time ago...

So you have the first Moto X? It sounds like some of your specs and facts are getting crossed. Moto has dropped support for the carrier-based 2014 models, and I don't much blame them. It takes forever for the carriers to push out new firmware. My 2014 got Marshmallow a few months ago, I may have posted in here when it happened. Moto routinely does soak tests you can sign up for and get it earlier, which is what I did.
The 5x and 2015 X Pure both have the 808 processor. It's the 2014 that has the 801. I know you said 5.2" is your max, but I wouldn't buy the 2014 model at this point unless you got a great deal on it used. You could buy mine with a handful of accessories if you really want.
That size has really shifted more to the mid-range specs unfortunately.
I doubt they'll have the logo on the front corner like you see in that picture.
No, the fingerprint scanner. They already have a perfect spot for it on the back with all of their phones. The logo is their developer phone mark, AFAIK.
Very much enjoying the 6P to this point. Battery life is impressive. A bit lower than average use yesterday, but took it off the charger at 0830 Sunday morning, and when I did the same this morning I was at 51%. About an hour of SOT, but couple hours of WiFi hotspot, which would usually kill the X.
Fingerprint scanner is stupid fast. Screen is awesome, feel is awesome. Borders on being too big on occasion, but I'm used to that sort of thing. (heh) Love the notification light, however I wish Ambient Display was better. Missing the front sensors on the X on occasion. Really missing the Moto Assist (better voice controls, read back, etc). Charging off the mains is very quick. 50-100 in one hour. Not as quick as QC 2.0, but I will survive, particularly so because of how frugal the battery is being used as compared to before, plus a larger capacity. Lack of Type-C accessories is unfortunate, and I just bought a microUSB dock/stand that is now being under-used.
Speakers are great, as good as the Boomsound in my old M7. Have a skin coming this week from dbrand.
On one hand, a shame that the stereo front-firing speakers are gone (nice to see HTC still retains a dual-ish setup). On the other hand...dat chamfered edge, tho.
Snapdragon 820
4 GB RAM
USB-C
12 MP UltraPixel rear camera with OIS
5 MP front camera with OIS
The just-unveiled HTC 10 will unfortunately not be sold by AT&T in the US. It's still headed to the other three of the 'big four' carriers stateside in due course, however - so you'll soon be able to pick one up from Verizon, Sprint, or T-Mobile.
And if you love AT&T and crave an HTC 10 at the same time, there's a choice for you too, albeit a rather expensive one. See, the unlocked model that HTC is selling through its own US online store is compatible with AT&T's network, so no one's stopping you from purchasing one for $699.99 outright and then using it on that particular carrier. There's also an option to use PayPal Credit to get 12-month 0% interest financing, keep that in mind.
Sharp's ultra-cute RoboHon robot phone goes on sale next month for $1,800
RoboHon, Sharp's dubiously useful but definitely adorable phone that walks around on two legs and projects you happy images when you're sad and alone in your bedroom, is actually making its way to market. Sharp announced today that the phone / robot / thing will see release on May 26th in Japan, with preorders now open. It has a 2-inch screen on its back and runs Android 5.0.
The last time I wrote about RoboHon I expressed hope that Sharp can "get this weird little guy onto the market for a reasonable price." That, uh, appears to have been difficult; RoboHon is selling for 198,000 yen (or about $1,800) before you get into service fees. But hey, you can't put a price on true friendship — I hope to evaluate RoboHon's conversational skills, punctuality, and Myers-Briggs personality type in the near future.
^I was going to ask you which version Note 4 you have. Yeah locked bootloader FTL. ATT BS which is why many go Int'l version though I'm not into rooting and ROMs and stuff.
FYI the Note 4 of my friend above was a T-Mo version. When she went to exchange it, they told her that 3 others had come in with the same problem. Apparently an update bricked their phones too
^ lol that sux... With international unlocked versions you won't have any warranty from Samsung. So it's a gamble if within a year something goes bad internally. You're out of luck.
I read more about ATT bootloader and its KNOX security - basically I can just forget about it. =]
It's big. I don't know how you guys use the really jumbo phones... This thing barely fits in my skinny jeans.
I still am in in the habit of looking at the cord plug to get it into the phone tie right way (micro USB) even though this is USB C and unidirectional.

It's smaller than a Note 4 which I easily fit in my pocket in well fit (non loose) jeans and I have above average legs. Either your jeans or too tight (:ghey or this phone is shaped weird.

Can barely fit a 8mm thick phone but no complaints about your shmekel fitting in? Says a lot :gheylaugh:
No really though... slim jeans, regular fit, okay. But no dad jeans and no skinny jeans!
