This.

The rate at which the phone charges is no joke. A 3A charger will fill the phone from 50% to full in about 20-30 minutes.

I don't get any of these anymore Is there something in settings I have to turn on?

I don't have a Nexus phone, but I've always used the Google Launcher but I used to get all those things, now I don't
Mine doesn't notify but it shows up in my Google Now feed. Mine has been slacking on syncing calendar and stuff though. I need to look into that.

to my Note 4. Got 10/2014 and died today. Was watching a vine clip of the KO from last night and then I got a text. Phone immediately turned off and that's all she wrote. Yes I tried both batteries, plugged into the wall, into the PC, without the battery to drain the stored power, all the buttons, soft, hard, DFU, ABSOFUCKINGLUTELY NOTHING. 2 Samsung Notes (2 and 4) dead in around a year. Cheapest fix was to Asurion claim for $100 so I think they're sending me a black Note 4 now I will repost in a year

Did you try removing the SD card and then connecting to the charger?

I will never buy another Samsung mobile device. Buggiest pieces of shit I've ever owned. OG iPhone and 3GS weren't far behind though.

After I move and get some expenses out of the way, I will keep my eyes open for Android devices on sale because I need to replace my reliable backup iPhone 4 that is getting really long in the tooth. Plus said replacement will likely take over for the Note 4 as the primary anyways.

^lots of cool deals, currently!

i'm still in the camp of not paying more than $350 for a phone and with all the deals floating around, a phone can be had for as little as $350

I haven't in my life paid more than $200 which is when the iPhone 4 was a few months old. Since then I catch the Android on deals or insurance.

32GB unlocked Moto X Pure Edition (2015 model) on sale at amazon for $100 off, or $350. It's their Deal of the Day, so there's less than 23.5 hours to go, unless they sell out sooner.

Man, can't do that a week before Christmas, even at $100 off. Perhaps early next year.

Besides, then I'd have to get a new card dock, and that's nearly $100 anyway.

So with Marshmallow, if I have an SD card slot, is there any reason to bump up the internal memory? Has anyone had any issues adopting the microSD as internal?

The battery on my X is starting to flake a bit, turning off at 20% sometimes. Plus, I'm starting to feel the urge to upgrade anyway.

I haven't bothered reading on Marshmallow since I have a Sammy. The only issue with SD cards are the speed to show a photo after taking it.

Ordered a case for my black Note 4 from the same fleabay seller who sent my one for the white one and it's all fucking scuffed. Had to request another.

Is it one of the TPU style slim ones? I got one in black that looked all scuffed as well, but it was just a release agent used in the manufacturing process. I used a paper towel and some windex and it came right off.

I don't understand all this whining about Touchwiz, I mean... I literally install a different launcher the minute I start up a new (Samsung) phone and never go back to stock. I honestly don't even know how Touchwiz looks like. I'm sure it's still there, but I don't see it.

Yeah I didn't have to do it with the first one I got which was white. It looks like this time around they monogrammed a label and had fingerprints all over the plastic before sticking it on. Plus on one corner it looks it fell. Usually these guys crank out so much volume, they'll send another without thinking. I even included pics so he doesn't have much of a case. Worst case he sends me a 2nd crappy one and it's $2.50 wasted.

So I guess I'm between the Moto X Pure 2015 and the 6P. Might go to Best Buy today and see if they have a demo unit or either.

I really like the 2014 Pure, aside from it rocking when flat, the battery starting to act up, and a general lack of features. I'm torn between keeping the great Moto add-ons like Drive, touch-free sensors and getting microSD vs fingerprint, a fairly flat back and better specs.

What announcements? Samsung has their thing in March, but the 6P and X came out in fall.

I think I might wait, but only to see if the rumors about the 2016 X having a fingerprint sensor are true. Ordered a turbo charger which should help me on days the battery wants to check out early.

Yeah usually end of first quarter are when the announcements start coming out I believe. Not sure how fast you need a new phone but if you can't wait I'd have to agree with you on your choices. I'd have the Moto over the Nexus 6P.

As suspected the seller (eforcity) is sending me another case. Another 2 weeks of waiting though

Yeah, I need to slow my roll. Aside from the battery's last 20%, it's the best phone I've ever owned. I'd be sad to sell it.

Alright, so I'm ready to pull the trigger, but I'm really struggling in deciding between the Moto X Pure 2015 and the 6P...

I had the Nexus 4 and 5, and then switched to a Galaxy S5 because I wanted an SD slot. But, after a year of taking pictures and video, I've only used 10GB of space on the SD card. I was sold on the 6P (64GB) version, but after some research it appears that the OS takes up about 20GB of space. I like the Pure because it has 64GB for the same price plus the SD slot. However, the 6P camera has better reviews, and a better screen, and battery life. The smoothest running droid I've ever had is my Moto X2 that I have for work. I'm really struggling with this decision. Anyone have any further opinions or insight?

I like the SD card because I save my pics there and if the phone craps out the pics are safe. I'm too busy to remember backing up my pics to the cloud. Probably the only thing that swings me. Not sure the prices.

Yeah, I'm with you on that. That was always a concern with my Nexus phones, but I'm pretty good at taking care of them. The other nice thing is that the Pure has dust/water resistance. I'm just nervous about not being on Marshmallow, because everytime I upgrade a phone to a new OS there's problems. My S5 has never been the same since upgrading to lollipop. God this is a hard decision...

If you are on android, just set up Google Photos to auto-backup. Once you link to your Google account, you never have to think about it again. Pics appear online in about 2-5 minutes after capture.
