If tmob had good network here, I would definitely jump and save some $$$
either way: lets see who is the sore loser:
swoosh: $199 phone + $80 (individual plan with unlimited data/text/m2m calling) X24 months = $2120
Justinpaytoomuch: $750 phone (note3) + $60 x 24months = $2190

So much for getting a Z1. No freaking LTE. The Ultra Z is
and so huge

Sony may be focusing its energies on Europe and Japan, but today it's bringing some of its latest Android hardware to the US market as well. The new flagship Android phone, the Xperia Z1, is going on sale at Sony's online store for $649.99 — but beware, it only comes with HSPA+, there's no LTE connectivity. For the real 4G stuff, you'll have to spend $679.99, which is the unlocked price for the 6.4-inch Xperia Z Ultra's LTE model. Or if you don't need fast mobile speeds, you can save yourself 30 bucks with the $649.99 HSPA+ variant. Both devices are available now from select Sony stores and online retailers in a choice of black, white, or purple.
Really? That thing looks like the same old boring black slab running the same OS as last year. Nothing about that picture wants me to get that thing. And thats not an Apple fanboy comment, a lot of Androids look good and the Sony Xperia Z line got me to buy a tablet. The Notes and S4 look good as well. That thing looks like the same Android I had 3-4 years back.

That is really just showing the size/layout of the handset.
yeah, the N5 looks pretty much the same as my N4, but it's what KK has to offer that matters... and if my N4 will be getting the update, then, there's really no point to even pick it up... If anything, I'm really starting to eye the Note 3
True, every phone can be called a black slab. But you have to look beyond the picture to really see the difference in the Nexus 5.
The size is smaller than the Nexus 4, yet has a larger screen = thinner bezels. Overall phone is thinner, lighter, with a bigger battery and even more optimized battery life. Better resolution screen. Interesting design for the earpiece on top, dual stereo speakers on the bottom of the phone. OIS camera on the back. Matte design finish on the sides and back. Flipped Nexus wording (someone somewhere cares about this lol).
Software wise, the screen has UI changes that won't be detected by the causal user, but the navigation and status/notification bars are now transparent in the home screens. Transparent app drawer. Different icon set-new design more flat with cards. Different color scheme - less tron, more Google Now cards. Number of screens is done automatically, and not limited to 5. Introduction of the Google Experience Launcher. More focus on Google Now. OK Google Now hotword launch from anywhere. Streamlining of messaging apps both inside and outside.
But a phone is a phone, though you can't really call it that nowadays since most people don't even use it to make calls anymore. Buy what you like. That's why there are choices.

I still like the HTC One's design. In black, it just makes sense with the speakers facing forward. Plus, dat metal body.
I like the Droid DNA's design too. I'm a sucker for that rubberized plastic texture.
I really like the iPhone's design but I think they seriously gimped the screen size. Increasing the length while keeping the width is stupid. I get the whole "one-handed use" thing, but they should have offered an iPhone with a bigger screen (width as well) and one with the original size screen.
Do people really give a shit about having an extra home row?
I guess text is bigger in landscape mode, but videos/gifs would be the same.

That Nexus 5 looks so awesome! I want it even though my HTC One has been great. Lol. I think I'll wait a few weeks to pick one up so first buyers can go through the bugs/issues.

Yeah after owning the first run of Nexus 4, I would definitely wait for future Nexus products now. Heck, might even wait a whole year and get the N5 for $100 cheaper if the N6 isn't mind blowing (i.e. a transformer phone watch glass combo).
I brought up with my mom about me giving her my phone (she's still rocking a 3G iphone) and me getting a new phone. She told me to get a job first...

btw I am working part time and graduating december so looking for full time employment at different places. Just for those that think I'm a couch potato lol, cause reading that statement it sounded like I am.
Man I was going through some of the Verge's comments. Some people are so clueless about nexus phones. They think every Nexus's phones hardware was 'last' years tech and thats why its so cheap. I'll give it to them that theres the camera thats always been below par, but other than that there hasn't been much else really. And the N4 had the newest things. The NS and GN was maybe 4-6 months old processors, but they still blew away other devices during their years.
Though I am leaning heavily towards the iPhone 5s as an upgrade to 4s, I like what I am reading/hearing/seeing about the Nexus 5....except the potential that it won't work on Verizon.
Not to sway you but I did see a blurb that Verizon with iPhone 5s was rated very high by JD Power.
SO last night had a bday party at my place. Right before I had to go to ralphs to get a few things. At checkout I spot the Kitkat with the android promo. Get super excited and buy it. Party was fun, was looking for it just now. Asked my roommate and he said he ate it while cleaning up...
I didn't even care about the kitkat, i wanted my $5 play store credit!!!

Was going to wait for nexus 5 but heard it wasn't going to be mind blowingly advanced. I like to keep my phones the whole 2 years so being best of the best as long as possible is important so I got the note 3 and am in love with it
ZING!
What's up with you guys only buying 1 Android Kit Kat? I'd have bought like 5!

Time to upgrade from my GN?
sorry guys
