Yeah, up until that goal, it was a 3-0 series, it shouldn't have gone in, but it was a nice play late. Pens should not have had their power play out there with 30 seconds left in the game since they were pulling Anderson to go 5 on 5, we should have had defensive minded penalty killers out there to help protect the crease until time ran out. Oh well

The Hawks better...or this is a short series for Detroit.

I have to admit, Chicago has been more or less sleep-walking through the playoffs to start. And now, they have met a well-coached and well-executing team...bad combo to be playing half-asleep.

It was nice to see the Hawks turn it up on the 3rd period last night but too little too late. Games in the playoffs are not usually won in 20 minutes...

Thursday game will be a barn burner for sure. In game 3 the wings benefited from some favorable officiating IMO, hopefully the ref's call the game properly on thurs. Wings are starting to look like the leaf's in the 3rd, seems they are running out of gas at the 10min mark and just holding on.

Yeah, it will definitely be a nail-biter for me...being down 3-1 in a series is not the end of the world, but it leaves Chicago margin for error at zero.

And glad to see that even you noted the uneven officiating. The no-goal on Shaw I felt was also BS...but, I won't nail the game on that. Good teams should overcome bad officiating and bad breaks in the playoffs...so, no whining about it -- Chicago never played a full game and should never have been in that position.

While I appreciate your respect for the Red Wings organization and agree that we should be lifting the cup every year. As we all know, in the post-cap parity era, a consistently dominant team is becoming a rarity.

If you kept close tabs on our team this year, you'd appreciate even more the hurdles they cleared to get here. Most man hours lost to injury. For crikey's sake, we're sporting half a farm team and going to to to with the Presidents cup winner.

I'm kinda enjoying this scrappy underdog role after years of being one of the favorites only to get beat out by a team which had a hot goal tender. Knock on wood, this is the year WE have the hot goaltender and a team who morphs into a giant killer.

No reason to celebrate, like coach said, "we haven't done anything yet."

'twas a fun night at the old barn though, my ears are still ringing.

Not sure which game you were watching Dougler, Wings missed some calls too. Most notably the non-boarding whiff on Franzen which directly led to the Chicago goal.

Like Yummy said, when your Captain is complaining about officiating, you're not working hard enough.

Sure now he puts the defense that worked all season back together.

Take me out of my misery, complete the sweep, trade Richards (if anyone will take him) fire Tortorella.

I don't remember saying lifting cups every year, I said contending. Like I said, in their 22nd consecutive appearance, the B's went to the finals and progressively got worse every year. I'm not saying the wings are irrelevant, just be weary of what the organization is trying to get you excited about.

Richards gets millions and has been worse than worthless. Tortorella has consistently been negative and made downright weird line changes that mostly result in bad things happening.

This was just bad luck.

These two out! Torts for failing at running winning lines and power plays. Richards for trespassing on the ice rink.

QFT

The powerplay has been a joke and it is Tort system not the players.

Additionally I do not think the media is the place for a coach to talk ish about a player. That is between coach and player.

Nash has been bad but not as bad as Richards and Richards has sucked for years. I bet it comes out Nash is hurt like Gaborik last year.

Nash is not giving the chance to play, when he is open he can make great plays but Torts does not know how to create plays for him, so the team suffers.

Memo to the Kings, showing up for only half of the 3rd period to score a goal is not going to be enough to beat the Sharks. Try mixing in 2 or dare I say 3 whole periods of hockey.

...and hey refs.....try not to be so quick on the whistle...if the goaltender has no idea where the puck is, and the players do....might not want to blow it dead.

You're pulling at strings calling that goal bad luck. It was good luck that the puck went behind Lundquist with so much back spin that it hit the goal line spun away from the net. It was good luck that Lundquist didn't kick the puck in his own net, he got lucky to have the puck jump over his leg. Then NY just got out hustled by the best 4th line in the NHL.

I thought initially that he kicked it in his own net, with that backspin I'd call that a lucky bounce for NY

He outplayed your entire team the entire game. To lose on that is as much the fault of the defense being on vacation as the hustle of the offense.

Hmmm, he outplayed the whole team? Tuukka let in 1 goal, Lundquist let in 2, that's not outplaying.
