Saturday - July 26th meet

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey all - since Dan will be in town this upcoming weekend, lets have a meet.

I will provide everything needed, unless someone wants to pitch in for some extras. I will have burgers/buns and some chips. If anyone wanted to be in charge of chips, or some potato salad or something - we should be good.

oh - and bring something to drink too.

When: Saturday, July 26th - Noon until ??

Where: 2945 114th Ln NW, Coon Rapids MN 55433

I've got the cul-de-sac, so there is plenty of parking. Depending on how many people we get, we can decide to go on a drive, or just hang out and work on the cars - up to you guys.

So who thinks they are going to be able to make it?

thats what i'm guessing..
it was weird though, i pulled alongside him when i turned out of this parkinglot, and did my best to stay behind him and go slow, like 2-3 under, and then i went to the limit, but not over, when he went into the left turn lane, i passed him, and he turned back across 2 lanes, and pulled me over

I have to meet someone in South Minneapolis on Saturday morning so I'll most likely be able to show up at the the Minehaha meet alone.....Lemme know something I can bring for everyone....right now I'm just thinking pop or some BBQ ribs or something lol...

That case is pretty sweet actually. And for the $35, you really can't beat the price. With the box that we made, it definately would look 100 times better once carpeted. Otherwise I even thought we could plexi the whole outside of the box. Then you could paint the inside of the plexi, put an acura logo on there too, and the paint would never scratch since it would be on the inside of the case, not on the outside.

For the first time building a PC case - definately can't say it's like building a speaker box...lol There aren't as many variables on a box.

How would you cut the plexi though? plexi knife or some sort of special saw? as for drilling for the standoffs....wouldnt that just melt it?

Regular saw works just fine. We used tablesaws back when I had woodshop in High School.
And Nitro I think that was my computer that had some spam, because that computers all effed up now.

What blackura said. As long as you leave the paper on the glass, it will cut fine. And for drilling the stand-offs, I would actually want to remake the box out of solid wood, or plywood. (I've got so much wood laying around, it wouldn't be an issue). Basically it would consist of a wooden box (solid, so we could screw into it), then the plexi would go on the ouside of it - almost like cover panels. But the inside would be painted instead of the outside of the panel. That way you would retain the high gloss of the plexi, while also making the paint scratch proof.

But... than again, for $35 - you could just buy that premade case and we could modify that by painting it, or creating a plexi side for it. Maybe something like cutting an acura symbol out of the side, and putting plexi on the inside. Then you put a couple of LED lights (or the fans with LED in them) and the "A" would light up on the side of the case?

I think if you do want another box built, I will make sure to either get my dads table saw or at least his miter saw. Not that the dewalt saw didn't work, it could be a lot more precise (especially if we're looking at plexiglass)

Whats wrong with your PC dude? Just slow with lots of pop-ups, or can't you boot it anymore? if you can boot it, goto http://www.simplysup.com/ and download the program called trojan remover. Run that and see what happens. It's a pretty cool program that I've used quite a bit. It's just a trial version, but if it works, you'll only need it the one time anyways.

WTF is up with the acurazine servers lately? I'm always having to refresh my damn pages because they aren't loading. Grrrr..

As for the CF hood - I'd get it in a heartbeat. There's lots of shit that I would get actually. Only problem is 1) my allowance has decreased drastically since I moved out, and 2) 3G shit is way too spendy. Ask Jermaine and RTL....lol No $99 headers and $375 carbon hoods for us

I like Brian's idea of buying that case and cutting out the Acura A and throwing some LEDs in there. All you have to do is get a template of the A then take a router and rout it out.

As for this Laptop. It got a bunch of Viruses on it yesterday somehow. We got most of em off but I think there was a Trojan somewhere. And Nitro's Avatar is still pop up ads. But I'll try that thing. Doesn't matter anyway though cuz I'm gettin a brand new laptop for college anyways. This is just my dads old work one. I'm the only that uses it.
