That depends on whether or not the ones he is looking at go all the way to the flange and have not been cut. So long as we don't have to cut the existing pipes with a sawzall and then weld these on, we should be able to do it. It's just a dirty job...

Hey, I found an event for those out there that fancy themselves drivers. This event is at the new Brainerd road course and is a full day of track time for $235 per driver.

http://www.tracktimemotorsports.net/gpage.html

All of you that are looking for some twisties for the big meet, it doesn't get much more twisty than this, and you can put your radar detector away because cops arent allowed to write tickets when you are on the race track.

So, who's with me?

That's pretty easy then, there are only a few bolts. I think 3 on the back of the cat, and then 3 on each muff.

I would plan on them giving us trouble. With the ones at the front of the cat for the headers we have to replace them, so if it were me, I would be looking for some new bolts once you pick it up.

I had an interesting race yesterday on the way home. Started out just kind of messing around with a couple kids in an eclipse on 94. Well they must live out by me because we were messing around for like 15 miles..lol

I first noticed them because I could hear this whine next to me. It was the body style eclipse before the new ones with the clear tails (early 2000?). Anyways - Looked like a nice car. Had a drop, some rims, a pretty sweet body kit, and I could see that he had a set of pillar guages. I was a little worried because of the whine I was hearing.

Well, we followed each other (in heavy traffic) from 94 to 610, and we both ended up getting off at East River Road in CR. 2 stoplights up we managed to be at the front for the red. Turns green, and we're off. He had a stick, and kept even in first up to about 30, then he shifted and dropped back about a half car length. Then he shifted again at about 60 and it was all over from there. He only made it up to about 70 and gave up.

I don't know anything about those cars, but they are either way underpowered and turboed to compensate, or he was just having fun with a slipping belt or something by making it squeak so people think he's faster.

Either way - it was all show and no go for him. Sweet.

Oh - and Josh... I harassed FedEx yesterday because the tracking number i have isn't giving me any info. They said something was up, but your bro should have his RAM by the end of the week.

Nevermind - did some research. This was a 2G eclipse (forgot about the ugly ass ones with the fins on the sides). The new ones are 4G. The car I raced only had a 210 hp turbocharged engine in it. And that 210 was rated back when my car was still rated at the 268hp.

So I was right - all show, no go. He may have had some bolt-ons, but I still had a 60 horse advantage.

Go little asian (ohio to be accurate) ponies.... GO!!!!!

I like the 2G eclipse. 1st gen is the funnest, but 2G looks best. 3G got boring...then the new ones are kinda beastly...but yeah 2G's only push like 210 stock but they have alot of potential.

What generation TL is urs?

3G - it's an '04. Only thing I've done is installed a K&N typhoon intake. All other mods are cosmetic (type-s tails, sidemarkers, cleared keadlights, ZKW lenses)

Glow actually posted up the highest dyno numbers back in spring when Dan, Jorge, Brian and I all got our cars done at the same time. It was only a couple of tenths, but I would say that Brian has a hot motor coming straight from Acura.

The real bummer is that I won't be able to go because my parents will be in town that weekend. The budget committee brought that up when I submitted my request for funds.

I've seen ads for that on myspace n stuff before. I was actually looking at it last night. But I don't know what to tell you. Ask if there's a refund. Or who the owner or president is and try to look him up lol, I know its a stretch but eh whatever.

I have a deal for you guys. I know about this '04 SSM TL for sale. Asking price is $23,181.84 firm. It has really sweet lights, and it ready to roll.

P.S - I heard this thing eats eclipses for breakfast

i'd like a GS too lol

carsponsorships.com is a very "legitimate" company. just you have to pay the fee, and after that i dont know if they can guarantee u sponsorships or not. if they do, you get to drive around with enormous decals

http://www..com/forums/dodge-tech/28...ships-com.html

basically you pay them, and they get you wholesale on parts u dont need. or they send u a couple of stickers. you'd need a hot piece of metal to get sponsored, and by then, you dont need these a-holes

Yeah, that was the deal I read on the terms and conditions. Basically to get a sponsorship where they are giving you free parts, you have to have your car in shows and they want proof that you are entering it into shows and such. You have to go through the, 'I don't get shit but stickers' phase, then the 'I get a deal on the parts I want', then the 'I get parts at cost that you cant buy' before you get to the 'cha-ching!' part.

They make it sound like you sign up and get a whole bunch of free crap, but that's not the reality. It's like everything else, you have to work to get to the free crap spot.

As for getting your money back, I SERIOUSLY doubt it. If you got your app fee back, why charge an app fee in the first place? If they were going to be willing to give it back if you didn't get a sponsorship, they would only charge you if they found something for you.

If you want to put stickers on your car, check this out. It seems like a pretty cool deal and it makes me want to 'chrome' the TL. It's called foiling BTW.

You want to get rid of the TL? What are you looking at getting? Maybe just keeping the truck?

I'd get rid of the TL just to get out of the payments if I could get out even. Right now though, I think unless I found the right buyer - to be competitive, I'd be looking at about 5k upside down. For that, I might as well just keep the car and pay it off.

I'm pretty much in the reality that the TL is mine forever, and I'm gonna get some rims, drop it, and put an exhaust on it and just keep it as a summer cruiser.

But.. If I could sell it, I would definately get something different. I would probably either get a used porsche boster S, or maybe a mustang or something that I could actually get tuned if I wanted. If you look at car sites, you can get a pretty decent mustang for 8-10k, and then I could actually fix it up to my liking. Rather than now where I'm in a 30k car that can't be tuned, and it will never get past 360-380 horse if I put on all mods and supercharge it.

Hell - I can take a stock mustang and make it 400 horse for a couple grand. I do however miss having a convertable. That's where the boxster fits in. When I bought my car, originally I was going to keep the expedition and buy the porsche. I test drive the TL and fell in love immediately and threw my other idea out the window right away. Couldn't afford to keep both cars. (BTW, boxsters are all the same after 2001 for the most part, and you can pick one up for less than 20k without even looking very hard)

I know how you feel. This TL is the longest I have ever owned a car, and it has been 3 years. My biggest problem is that I really don't feel like paying for a car anymore and I just want it to be paid off. I am tired of sending cash to the bank every month and want to be done with it.

As much as I want that M5 or that Evo, I really don't want to pay for it. So, I guess I use that as a way to keep myself from having 5 cars, just decide how much I want to dedicate to spending on cars and pick something that fits in that range.

I really do think that it will be the E60 M5 that I get just because it will be that far down the line before I get one.

I hear that. Maybe I can give my TL to my kid, and get a sweet supercharged Z06. I'll be retired and own my house by then, so the $800/month payments won't hurt at all. Unlike these damn payments I got now while trying to juggle a 15 year mortgage. At least I'll own my house at 40. That will be pretty sweet. Just in time for my mid-life crisis too... lol toys toys toys

alright couple things, german is, hands down, the unsexiest language known to man. know what, unsexiest language even when compared to those unknown to man.

and you guys cant buy new cars, you have to suffer the lack of mods with us. the lack of nothing can be done.

if we can get some guys real interested. there's 15 of us coming to a meet. if we put in 100 bucks each be can buy a beater integra. this can be a project car for all of us and we can get rid of the frustrations of nothing being able to tune. sure it aint yours, but if we do, we can take that car to the track, little something the acura guys built ya know.

intake for the integra costs like 50 bucks, headers are like 150. i mean think of what we can learn fabricating our own turbo kits lol
