I have to work Friday, but I always goto a meat raffle at the Grumpy's by my house every Thursday.

As for Friday - nothing going on. I was thinking about having a bonfire sometime this weekend. I have some shit I have to burn. Maybe go out for a beer or something later.

Where you staying anyways? Got some friends in town, or just hotel'in it? Well I will keep the next few nights free, so if you get bored - give me a call and we can meet up somewhere.

I got that Vista machine working, but I'll let my brother pick up his own video card and install it if he wants. The only thing that is not working is the glass feature or whatever it is called.

Big Ol' Minnesota Meet N' Eat - August 16th Saturday

When: Saturday August 16th at TBD AM til whenever

Where: Most likely a park in the metro area TBD still. And then a drive somewhere like Wisconsin or Taylors Falls, somewhere with windy roads.

What: Meet at a park. Take some pictures and grill. Showoff your car. Then go for a drive, and take some more pictures.

1. BlackuraTL

Once we get the details narrowed down I'll fix the info but you guys gotta help me out with that, and if you haven't figured out yet, I am one impatient dude lol so get on here and help me out.

Anybody decide on a park yet? Do we have any like state parks or a dam anywhere? Not Coon Rapids Dam though.

Never been to Minnehaha, but I'm down for anywhere.

Hey Black - are you trying to tell me something? I put my name on the list and you took it off. lol

Nope - this weekend is still on like donkey kong

My place on Saturday.

Blackura is just trying to get stuff setup for our big meet of the summer since we're not having anything at Buerkle.

Jorge - Taylors falls is another bomb-tastic idea. I'm always down for going there. I just hate to sound like a broken record because I bring it up all the time

Yeah I was planning on us meeting at a park THEN driving to Taylors Falls or WI or whatever we agree on. But if you guys just want to meet at Taylors Falls then drive around and go home thats fine. I was just thinking for people that don't want to go on the drive it'd be easier gas wise if we just meet in the metro then go so if people don't want to go on a drive they can just leave from the park.

I just realized its gonna be fallish around then so I say we meet at a park here then go to taylors falls because my parents always go there in the fall to see the scenery.

So yey or ney on meeting at Minehaha at 10am or 11am you guys choose then driving to Taylors Falls.

Here's another idea for the big meet, meet up at Jorge's house where we will roast a pig Cuban style!! Jorge was telling me about something called a Chinese box that makes roasting a pig pretty easy and it sounds damn good to me.

Who's down for some barbecued swine?

The only tool you need is Razzi, he is mean on those spring compressors.

It would probably take about 4-5 hours to swap out suspension, but if we don't have to deal with spring compressors then that take about 2 hours off the top. It really is only a few bolts, 3 at the top, and I think 2 at the bottom.

There is some dude selling a set of 19" Axis Hiros in the BM, but he talks about how he has $2100 into rims and tires, you he won't accept any lowball offers below $1800.

Well.... sorry bud. I can buy a brand new set of Hiro's, with your exact tires on them for $1816. I'd be willing to offer him like $1400, but if I'm gonna spend that much, I'd almost rather buy new so I know how they were kept up.

If you guys are looking for rims, the best place I have found is performanceplustire. Check it out sometime. (I do believe in supporting vendors... if they are actually giving us a good price, which ours aren't)

The only problem with Jorge's house is if we get like 20 people to come its not going to be able to hold it and we can't take pictures but I'm down for a pig roast at the park.

I haven't actually been to Jorge's place yet, so I can't really comment on that. A pig roast at the park sounds like a pretty good idea, but we might have to research a little bit to see if we need to pull permits or anything. Having some hot dogs and burgers is one thing, but setting up a smoker might be another.

Another option I guess, is my place again. Having the cul-de-sac, I have plenty of room for parking. My fron yard has a little to be desired, but the back yard is plenty big. Last year I threw my father-in-law a 60th b-day party and we had close to 100 people come with no issues. if it rains or is sunny and hot outside, I've got a canopy that we can set up as well. Although I can pretty much bring the canopy anywhere we go.

I'll let you guys continue to ge this setup, but if I can be of any assistance - let me know.

Why can't we take pictures? We can always spill out onto the street that his driveway is on.

Anyway, I'm down with whatever, but roasting a pig just sounds like a damn good idea. Glow, can you look into the permit situation?

Sure thing. Have we decided on the park then? I think the permits would be more of a city/county thing, unless we went to a state park.

Pig roasts are the bomb. That's what I did for my wedding. Had a pig roast, steaks, and plank smoked walleye. Mmmm... it was the best walleye I've ever had.

Alright I just PM'd 25 people from MN. I told them its at 11am and most likely at a park probably Minehaha. 2 of them hadn't been on in about 5 months so count them out and another 2 said they can't make it. And about 3 of those 25 ppl I pm'd were from WI and one of them was the one that said he can't make it. So I'm still waiting to hear from about 20 people from MN. They look like the go on everyday so I'll probably hear form them soon. I also told them to just PM or come to this thread and I gave a link to it.

Here is some information that we will all be needing sometime.

4825 Minnehaha Ave. S
Minneapolis, MN 55417

We can do whatever we want in this park as far as food and activities. They said everything is first come, first served - so as long as we get there somewhat early to pick out a nice spot, we're good to go.

They do have an actual covered pavillion area that we can use, but it is $250/half day or $500 for all day (6am-10pm)

If the meets get large enough, I say this might be a good option in the future. Perhaps have everyone pitch in $20, we could rent the pavillion and even have catered food and stuff (like famous daves or something). But for our first crack at it, I think we'll do fine without.

Helping you out there Black

Big Ol' Minnesota Meet N' Eat - August 16th Saturday

When: Saturday August 16th at 11 AM til whenever

Where: Minnehaha Park and Falls, 4825 Minnehaha Ave. S
Minneapolis, MN 55417. There will also be a drive to Taylors Falls after for those interested afterwards

What: Meet at the park. Take some pictures and grill. Showoff your car. Then go for a drive, and take some more pictures.

2. GLowrdr
3. Razzi
4. asujosh1
5. nitropwd
6. slepybear

Some of us may want to get down there before 11am, but we can make that decision once we know what the menu is, and its' a little closer to the date. One other thing - we should come up with a backup plan in case it's pouring ass rain outside. Perhaps something as simple as everyone meet at buffalo wild wings? We just need to pick a place that is pretty central to everyone, and perhaps close to the park since that's where everyone will be headed.

I think that lies upon Jorge. If we do a pig, I would expect that all of us "regulars" would pitch in a little bit? I wouldn't feel right bringing a bag of chips and telling Takata to bring a pig and roaster..lol

So - Jorge.....since you're the one that brought it up - should we do a pig?

Another idea for everyone - would it be better for everyone to bring something, or would we rather just pitch in $5 and have 1 or 2 people bring everything? That works out well if we know who is coming, os the person buying doesn't get $15 back on a $100 grocery bill. But at the same time it works out well so you don't have 10 people bringing chips.

It seems as though we have a time, place, and where we are going. Just need a backup plan, and to figure out where the food is coming from. I think this is going to be cool as shit. I also think once we have the big meet, that more people may decide that we're not so bad and come to the regular meets too

I think that doing a pig would be a huge task. Maybe just burger, hot dogs, brats, etc? ....not trying to be a party pooper, ha.

I like the idea of giving somebody the money and having them go get all the food. So then if one person doesn't show up were bunless or charcoaless.
