General Car Talk Discussion Thread
I'm sure you have enough saved for things that matter and so, if you can spare the $15K to buy some happiness...well...
And honestly, I think you sound responsible enough. Not like you're blowing your savings on a car that'll go up in flames (cough NSX cough).
Well, no car is "perfect". But, you know you will be doing your homework...researching...and after that, well...it's just, hate to say it, just money.

I forgot to mention, I saw a Macan S on Wednesday. Ho Lee Fuk. That thing is so fucking awesome. It is beautiful. Puts the Cayenne to shame. I would get one of those in a heartbeat over any other SUV in the $70-80K range.
That is true. I'm also about five years from entering my peak earnings so paying a new car off by then means I can bank after that as I expect the Accord will outlast whatever I replace the Focus with

[QUOTE=JS + BRZ;15245055]Look at this beauty.
charliemike, trade your ST for the EcoBoost Mustang![QUOTE]
I'm waiting for the Golf R to hit showrooms so I can compare the two as I can get a base Golf R for about the same price as a EB Mustang with Recaros and Navi through partner pricing.
Figure February or March ... Both are good options for less than $35K.

I wonder how much discounts there will be on the new Mustangs when prices settle down.
I know they had $5-6k off msrp for the last gen the past 2-3 years, which means you could get a base v6 for like $19k and a GT Premium for $32k.
I also hope the new ecoboost forces them to make a BRZ STi.. FT86 is still by far the most fun car I've ever driven for under $40k.

If you're seriously interested in the mustang, join the mustang club of america. Its $50 for the year but you get x-plan pricing, which is about $2500 off.
Regarding the BRZ STI, it makes sense, but I don't see it happening. It would push the price too high that they may just price it out of consideration by most.

Going to go check out one of the first 4C's in the US on Tuesday (hopefully). There are 4 showing up on websites at dealers in the US, but idk how many have actually reached here. Pretty suprised to see you can get a hand-built Italian roadster that weighs 2,500lbs with a Carbon Fiber Monocoque chassis for $50k.

This is the one:
Houston, TX 2015 Alfa Romeo 2 Dr Coupe 4C COUPE LAUNCH EDIT New Pasedena, TX Sugar Land, TX Helfman FIAT | FM129315 | ZARBAAC48FM129315
The launch edition starts out at $68k, but the base version is $53k. I love literally everything about this car.
I will definitely be posting pics once I see it.

They are not making it because they don't know how. It's purely due to the hardship of how joint venture works.
But yeah. Who knows!
Just get the car and F/I it! There are sooooo many options now and the prices have dropped a lot.

Getting closer.
The Golf gets loaded on the boat on Friday, will arrive in port on 12/3 and should be at the dealership on 12/6. Will be able to pick it up a couple days after that.
Will start my own thread shortly before I pick it up
Personally, no, I would not try to make them work. I would rather get wheels that were made for the car, either factory or custom.
oh and, lol @ Accordstang.
