Based on what R&T said, it just made me want an M3 even more.

Because it is not made for everyone and soccer moms, it is made for people who love to drive!

If i just wanted to turn the steering wheel and the car will just turn at 70mph without drama, then i will go buy an appliance, i mean the TLX SHAWD.

well if 6mt and RWD with decent performance and handling are a must, then you really don't have any choices.

just be glad that BMW still care about people who buy 6mt.

This is true. It sounds like this car is far more than 99% of drivers can handle

Idk, I've I'm dropping between $50k and $70k on a car, I'd have a hard time passing up a 4c. I love that thing - I don't care if it has the wrong transmission.

I keep reading that it's a beautiful exterior hiding a tub of vomit

i think almost any car when pushed to the limit is more than 99% of the drivers can handle.

But i tend to believe i am in the 1% tho.

Then why not a viper?

You also missed the point. Their point isn't my grandmother can't drive this.. their point is it went from being a tactical guided missile to an air-fuel bomb.

While there are some exceptions, but i would assume most of the people who buy 30K Mustang GT will not be able to afford a 80k M3 comfortably, otherwise you can bet they will get the M3. The key word is comfortably.

Can i afford a M3? yes... do i want to? No, because that means i have to sacrifice on other things and that also means i can't afford it comfortably.

However, double my salary and i will tell you, why would i wanna buy a Mustang GT when buying an M3 does little to nothing to my wallet.
I agree with all of that. All I'm saying is that in terms of value for money, the Mustang offers 95% of the M3, for $30k less.

Take that $30k and drop it into aftermarket mods for the Mustang and see what happens. I know that most people won't do this but it's still a valid point. Granted dropping $30k in mods for just about any car will make it stupid fast.

FWIW, If I had the budget to buy an M3, I probably still wouldn't buy one. Only because I can't justify spending $70k on a toy. That said, same applies to a Mustang.

But, in the echelon below the M3/M4 the Mustang GT might rule now. I haven't driven one yet. But everything I've read so far suggests it might be the best all-around sports car in America for ~$40K.

That is, until the Golf R gets here ...
It's the bang for your buck, same with the Corvette. Yes a 911 is a little faster and more comfortable and more prestigious but it's double the price. That's why you see a lot more Vettes out there than 911's.

Also, Golf R Wagon or go home. Waiting for Focus RS.

damn.. just peeped the 2015 Charger R/T Scat Pack.. so much goodness for 40k. I think I'm going to buy it. Because I'll probably crash into a tree at 45 mph in the Hellcat.

For what they designed it to be, reports are it is good at it.
But it is a much better all around car now for sure.

Saw my first 2015 Mustang in the wild. Was an Ecoboost Performance Pack. Looked great. Can't wait to drive one. Still unsure about another Ford.

Also bought my sister's 2003 AV6. 120,000 miles on it. TCS is broken but otherwise in good form.

Speaking of Mustangs, my friend is trading in his FR-S for a 2015. He placed the order yesterday - Ecoboost Premium with Performance Pack in Aspen White. It'll be ready in 8-12 weeks.

viscerally.. I'd get a GT as well.. but for the coin and the output we've seen already.. tough to argue against the ecoboost. I know there are a few in the low 12's with a tune and minor mods.

We'll see if the slushbox can handle the power though.

Minor mods and a tune can get the GT into the 11s though.

True, though the GT ends up being $6-7k more than an Ecoboost.
