1963 Aston Martin DB5

Only 13K on the odometer. It's already at $471K and still 6 days left.

This 1963 Aston Martin DB5 is a right-hand-drive example that was among the first 50 of 886 coupes built during the model’s two-year production run. Chassis 1348/R was sold new in November 1963 by Plough Motors of Stroud, Gloucestershire, and remained with its first owner until 1967. It was used daily by its second owner for the ensuing 10 years, and then spent time with a series of UK collectors before being imported to Canada in 2008. Finished in Silver Mink over grey Connolly leather, the car is powered by its numbers-matching 4.0-liter DOHC straight-six and was one of the first DB5s to be fitted with a five-speed manual gearbox from ZF. The interior was refurbished in 2017 as outlined in the listing below, and the car received the Rolling Sculpture Award at the Cobble Beach Concours d’Elegance that same year. This DB5 also won its class at the 2019 Concours d’Elegance of America. It is now offered by the selling dealer in McKinney, Texas with a copy of its factory build sheet, its UK registration booklet, invoices dating back to the 1990s, and a clean Washington State title.

The DB5 model debuted in September 1963 as a higher-powered evolution of the Series V variant of the DB4. The Carrozzeria Touring-styled exterior design of the DB4 Series V was retained, as was the superleggera construction technique, which incorporated aluminum body panels wrapped over a square-section tube frame. Like late examples of the DB4, the DB5 measured 15′ in length. Styling cues include fared-in headlights, triple-stacked taillights, and a low-profile hood scoop.

Chassis 1348/R was originally finished in Dubonnet, as noted on the build sheet and UK registration booklet. It was repainted in its current shade of Silver Mink in 2004, and the bumpers and overriders were re-chromed in 2001. Close-up photos of the finish, trim, and lenses can be viewed in the gallery below.

OMG, that Aston Martin is freakin' gorgeous; to borrow a line from TJ from the movie The Wedding Date, "I think I've just come."

34k-Mile 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...944-turbo-148/

Wow, very rare to see a 951 in this condition, and with everything from the jack to all the documentation in perfect condition.
IIRC first Porsche to have factory Brembo 4 piston calipers on four wheels (928S's only had them on the front)
Curious to see what'll bring. A friend bought one used in the late 80's almost identical to this (his had the rear wiper) but no where near as nice condition, really fun car to drive on back roads.

08 TL-S 6MT in KBP, classic waffle wheels, low miles at ~50k, no Aspec kit or wheels though is the ONLY thing that's probably missing from being a true true unicorn. ANd of course no cracked dash and fairly good interior with no cracked leather.

$20,000. Good price range for reference for future prospective sellers and buyers.

944s will always have a place in my auto heart. Pops had 2 of them & it's technically the first car I was ever in after I was born.

NA2 6MT owner I met at "church of the holy donut" was looking at buying a Zarardi NSX and at the same time was looking at 2017 NSX (NC1) last year
Surprisingly they were going for about the same price (~$130k)

IMO the best iteration of the NSX available in the states. Hardtop, 6-speed, and pop-ups

If only we got the Type-R... yeah, right.

so much money in the world....
Nationwide, it takes an annual income of $538,926 to be among the top 1%. Among the approximately 1.4 million taxpayers who meet this threshold, the average annual income is about $1.7 million – about 20 times the average income of $82,535 among all taxpayers.
https://www.usatoday.com/story/money...ate/112002276/

And of course you don't even need 500k/yr+ to get loans to afford multiple 100k+ luxury items.....so probably at least 2 million+ households that can easily swing these kinds of cars around. a LOT of people with lot of money when you count absolute numbers.....Just 1% of 300+ mil is boat load of people.....

Always liked the 944. Had a bit of delayed-boost-induced oversteer moment years ago while going around a 270* exit curve.

I'm gonna guess the Zanardi being 51 of 51, ends around $170-175K. Chassis #02 (first one you could buy since #01 went to Mr. Zanardi himself) sold for $155K.

^I've seen those. Some of those cars are beaten up actually. It takes a discerning eye to see these cars. Much better to to get it straight from Japan, IMO. Yeah, more of a PITA, but you'll get a better car.

It's a CSI, very rare. Less than 300 in the US, only around 1,500 in the world.

$215,051 as of this AM and still 3 days left. Maybe because of it's owner - not sure but pricing on this one seems to be a bit of a head scratcher.

Maybe, but is sport bike racing really that popular enough in the US for anyone to recognize the name? Genuinely asking.

Otherwise, I think the fact it's on BAT of all places, is what's really driving the price. Zanardis don't come up for sale very often to begin with, rarely seen one in auction at that, and now we've got one that's got the perfect mix of history (mint, famous owner, last one) on the perfect auction site where people have no problem bidding like crazy.

Not sure I follow. Zanardi was F1 driver who won CART Championships in 97 and 98 for Honda. He did some hand cycling after loosing his legs in a crash. I don't know that he ever was a sport bike racer??
I went and did a "Zanardi" search on BAT and come up with this. I was just commenting on how much higher this particular NSX was compared to others. Otherwise, yes, BAT gets some crazy high auction prices.

^ It's a Zanardi Edition car, was not owned by Zanardi.
The car for sale was/is owned by Miguel Duhamel, AMA Superbike racer.
