Funny, I now have the space to have a garage queen, but no money to do it . One year left of putting kid two through college, so through year 7 of 8. Last one then I might be able to get a project.
But this guys sells a ton of these on BAT which means he is probably getting them at auction for what, mid-20Ks and putting in some reconditioning and maintenance? Figure he is in to the car for $26-27K at most?

Here are some recent Carrera S Convertible RWD auction results. Funny to see that a white one with basically the same miles was sold back in March for $29,500 in PA. The vehicle was registered in NJ and CT according to CARFAX, and Manheim PA is a very large auction

I've always considered the 458 to be one of the most beautiful modern cars. Lambos are badass, but they're not "pretty" to look at. Everything about the 458 is just stunning.
Just looked through the ad listing again, this guy had the greatest deal one could get out of an exotic. 5 years, 13,000 miles of enjoyment, made a $70,000 profit on it afterwards.

Had to be tough to get on that waiting list though. Less than 500 produced?
I don't know how thorough the vetting is, but I thought you had to be a longtime, multiple Ferrari owner or have some kind of connections to get on the waitlist for their exclusive models? $70k return in 5 years is probably mundane to this guy
Good deal overall indeed though, especially on a newer model that was driven quite a bit, for a Ferrari. Don't follow exotic pricing, but a model I can think of that is potentially better was the 911 R? Or did pricing tank when Porsche brought back manuals for the GT3s?
I think the 911R is still in like the GT2 RS range but not in the $400K stratosphere anymore. BAT auctions were $237-280K. But those were 12-18 months ago.

Probably but it appears this guy isn't the original owner to begin with.
I did a little more digging and found the car was listed through Chicago Motor Cars at 1 point for $500,000 and 12,468 miles. I don't know when the listing went up, but it's marked sold if you find it. I thought at first maybe the BAT seller was the guy who bought it, put a thousand or so miles on it & lost $30,000 on it. But, actually reading the BAT ad, the seller says he put 3,000 miles on it. So, to my correction, he's not the original owner (probably had the car on consignment through CMC), and probably didn't make the kind of profit I thought.
I don't see the car's VIN listed anywhere else beforehand, so I can't actually say what kind of profit was made for the original owner. But, I'm betting he made something since 458SAs are still regularly trading $150-250K over sticker.

Sold for USD 73k, 4K less than it went for 4 yrs ago (5/2016) ...
Given it's put on around 1200 miles and still selling remotely close to $77K during the current pandemic, it's still a shockingly strong value holder.
These aren't super well-known cars, esp. when they look like a regular BMW with no M badge, but some fancy pinstripes & tame bodywork. I'm surprised it even crossed $50K in the US where the notoriety is even less.
Honestly I wouldn’t trust anything sold in the Springs. All those idiot E-1s at Fort Carson buying stuff and then abusing it.
Ha. So to avoid that, you only buy from the ranchers getting rid of nice cars (out east), or anything from Briargate north. E1's can't afford to live there.
Fairly well optioned 2010 E63 AMG. Price is probably slightly higher side than what I'd pay. Did some very brief research on that year's M156 motor....yeah no wonder older cars with these motors are cheap. Some big time repairs for the motor it seems could be on the horizon.....
