Would rather have the Zanardi one. Hardtop, plus I am a sucker for suede seat centers.
Quite unsettling, though suppose it is to be expected but I remember riding in a lower-mileage NA2 (which were all targas?) and it creaked quite a bit near the targa section. Seals probably needed a bit of grease or whatever, but still.
Plus, pop-up headlights mayne. Just swap over the NA2 rear valence and tails or swap them for LED units, done.

$135K for a Zanardi isn't bad. Hold on to it for a few years, enjoy it a bit, throw it on a more exotic auction market. It'll be on track to be a $150K-$200K car soon enough.

I remember when Zanardis sat unsold in Acura dealerships 20 years ago. Now they are selling for more than MSRP. Incredible. I remember when the bug eye NSXs languished on the sales floors, too, 15 years ago. I should have leased one, then bought off lease at the time, as Acura was offering insane lease deals on NSXs then. Now late NA2s are selling for well above MSRP. Goes to show you, you never know what collectors will want in 20 years...

SuperVettura, England's official Koenigsegg dealer, offers a wide selection of used supercars including a 1989 Ferrari F40, a 2016 Aston Martin Vulcan, and a 2008 Lamborghini Reventon. There's even a Spyker in its inventory. And yet, the car rivaling the 1,360-horsepower Agera RS for attention is a humble, 34-year-old BMW.
"It turns almost as many heads in the showroom as a Koenigsegg," James Huntley, a member of the store's sales staff, told Autoblog. It's not difficult to see why: It's a 1986 325iX, which is BMW-speak for a second-generation 3 Series with a 2.5-liter straight-six engine and all-wheel drive. It's one of the more desirable members of the E30 family, especially when fitted with a five-speed manual transmission the way the driving deities intended, and this one is extra-special because it has never been registered. Its odometer reads 508 kilometers (315 miles).
The previous (and original) owner intentionally kept the sedan unregistered, which explains why it's not as worn as the never-registered Italian and French cars uncovered in Argentina earlier in 2020. The anonymous collector bought it because it was BMW's first all-wheel drive car, Huntley explained. He felt it belonged in his collection.
"We purchased quite an extensive and eclectic car collection (32 in total) from a Danish collector. It included cars such as the P1 GTR, Enzo, F50, 250, Speciale, Barchetta, 512, 328, Pagoda — and the 325iX. When we arrived to view the collection, everything was beautifully preserved in a number of climate-controlled aircraft hangars."
Huntley added the protective wax sprayed onto the body prior to delivery is still visible in the door jambs and the engine bay. He also pointed out the car received a full service, an oil change, and a new battery when it arrived in the United Kingdom. The dealer left the Michelin tires fitted at the factory on the hubcap-clad 14-inch steel wheels to keep it as original as possible, but it will install new rubber if the next owner plans to drive it.
Most 325iXs ended up in North America, and a majority of them were driven into the ground by a succession of increasingly merciless owners who considered maintenance intervals ballpark suggestions. SuperVettura's is undoubtedly the cleanest example left anywhere in the world, and it's priced accordingly at £48,000, a sum which represents approximately $60,000 at the current (and extremely volatile) conversion rate. That's on par with a new 2020 M2, but something tells us this time warp of an E30 isn't going to remain unsold for very long.

Clearly the Brits have figured out that Americans are buying them cheap and making money back here.
The cheapest one for sale on Autotrader UK was $20K for a 2003 with 94,000 miles. That BAT one is looking like a decent deal.

Wtf. How? It doesn't really seem that special, judging by the photos. There's some cool CNCd parts, but $300k??
#412
With you guys on that one. The only bespoke coach builders that come to mind for this kind of stuff are Singer and Icon, at least for me. Never heard of these guys, though it looks immaculate.
Nothing on that screams special. I have no idea what they go for, but I would have expected maybe $80-90k tops.

Ring Bros have built some cool cars (Camaro, Mustang, Charger), but those cars had WAY more work into them than that Blazer appears to have. Hell, the Camaro they've done had a carbon fiber body.

In the 2010s, the truck-tuning world gradually moved away from go-fast mini-trucks as it shifted towards rigs with sky-high ground clearance and fat tires. North Carolina-based tuner Mallett Performance bucked that trend by bringing a highly modified Chevrolet Colorado sitting a few inches off the ground to the 2015 SEMA show. Five years later, it's ready to part with the Hellcat-baiting pickup it spent months building.
Mallett started the project by sourcing a twin-turbocharged, 3.6-liter V6 from Cadillac's brilliant ATS-V and completely tearing it down. Its mechanics rebuilt it with a forged crankshaft, forged pistons, titanium connecting rods, and a throttle body sourced from a seventh-generation Chevrolet Corvette. The turbochargers stayed on the work bench (and likely ended up on Craigslist) so the six could receive a 1.9-liter supercharger. It was designed to run on 109-octane fuel, according to Muscle Car & Trucks, and it exhales through a custom exhaust system.
The long list of modifications increased the V6's output to somewhere in the vicinity of 700 horsepower. To add context, the 3.6-liter makes 464 horsepower in the ATS-V and a stock 2015 Colorado has 200 or 305 horsepower depending on whether it has four or six cylinders under the hood. Mallett reinforced the stock automatic transmission, fitted an adjustable suspension, and installed huge Brembo brakes to keep the cavalry in check.
The modifications go far beyond the specifications sheet. The tuner notably raised and narrowed the rear part of the frame, and it made the cargo box nine inches wider in order to fit the massive tires needed to transfer over 700 horsepower to the pavement. The front end received a new-look grille and a carbon fiber splitter, while the interior was decked out with water buffalo leather inserts and a six-speaker sound system -- it was built for SEMA, after all, so anything that helped it stand out in a crowded convention center was fair game.
Mallett explained it's selling its Colorado to make room for new projects. Located in North Carolina, the truck has only 600 miles on its odometer because it spent most of its life going from one car show to the next. It's priced at $63,500, according to a Facebook ad, which sounds like a steal considering the work that went into building it.

Rebirth of the Syclone. Shame GM won't build a Colorado SS (since we all know it would hardly sell).

Surprising considering they slapped the SS badge on damn near everything.

add in the pretty rare Callaway kit, and that price isn't much of a surpise.

Yeah, me too. But this might explain the one in "Rio Yellow Pearl" above that sold yesterday for US$76.5k ....
The black one was sold once before on BaT about 2 years ago for US$44k .... and now, with 6 days still left in the auction, the bid is already at US$43.5k ....
This 2008 Honda S2000 CR is finished in Rio Yellow Pearl and was first owned by American Honda Motor Company, Honda’s North American subsidiary. The car was reportedly retained by the company until being acquired by an employee, and it was purchased the selling dealer in 2019.
This 2008 Honda S2000 CR has just 4k miles and was previously sold on BaT in July 2018. Fewer than 700 Club Racer models were produced for the US market between 2008-2009, 269 of which were finished in Berlina Black.

I did saw somewhere that said BaT auction listing are significantly down also...

Abso-damn-lutely.
When some people say why you would buy a 10+ year old used car when modern sports cars are better by every single objective/data-driven metric....you show them cars like THAT and they will see why.
Very timeless and gorgeous design.

Funny thing, I sent that link to my son and he pondered how the V8 Vantage would stack up against his 2005 BMW M3 ZCP. At first I figured the Vantage would mop the floor with the M3 in pretty much every metric. Yeah, then I looked up several test reports; even though the two cars weigh about the same and the Vantage has nearly a 50 hp and torque advantage, it only beats the M3 to 60 by a tenth of a second. That and the Vantage is speed limited to 109 mph while the M3 is limited to 155; said another way, the M3 is faster in the quarter mile. It would be interesting on a track, but my money would be on the M3.
The above said, given the design and exclusivity, if I wanted a garage queen, I'd pick the Vantage; if I wanted a daily driver, I'd pick the M3.

Did they come with a factory governor for speed maybe? Some german cars have those right from OEM and you can get the limiters removed if you want in the aftermarket space. But I've not heard that for Aston Martin cars....
#439
Can you link your sources? There's nothing I've found that insists the V8 was ever speed governed to 109mph. That's such an odd speed & would've surely had fuss created by owners.
