I'm not sure which is more nuts - the fact it sold for $45K or the fact it has 5K on the odometer.............. ![what](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/what.gif)

My dad had a really clean 510 just before I was born, sold it for something more practical for use with a baby.
Car got totaled by the subsequent owner less than a month after he sold it.

Most important one being safety - and I don't even have kids. Ever see the crash test video of the old (60s) Malibu vs. a modern one?
Hell, even a late 90s vs. a modern one (crash at 1:30):

True.
I'd love to find a W123 or W126 again, but it'd be an occasional user, not a DD.
That said, my W123 git rear-ended by an F150. I was going ~15-20mph, he was more around ~40-50mph. Folded the trunk in half & about half the rear fenders. Back doors still open/close without any bind. Car was a tank & the slowest car I've ever driven.

Most of us know that the Gladiator is not Jeep’s first foray into the pickup market. Back in the 1980s, the company released the Comanche, which was arguably a lot cooler than the new truck thanks to its ruggedness and utilitarian demeanor. The Comanche eventually fell victim to poor sales and a shifting corporate structure at Chrysler, where the company wanted to center pickup production under the Dodge brand. Even so, Jeep made plenty of Comanches over years, so you can find them on the used market fairly easily. In turn, they’re usually reasonably priced—like this short-bed, stick-shift model from 1988 that’s perfectly spec’d for a simple-but-clean pickup.

$7,500 doesn't seem terrible for what looks like a mighty clean, rarely seen truck.

Not sure if that Comanche is a 4-Banger or the venerable I6 engine; if it is one of the 4.0 liter I6 models, $7,500 is pretty reasonable, if not downright cheap.

Jeeps are cool and all, but they are—for better or worse—a dime a dozen. Even if you go full-bore when customizing them, there aren’t many ways to truly stand out from the crowd. That’s where this rugged old workhorse comes into play. It’s a 1963 American Motors Mighty Mite: The ultimate mini Jeep with real, proven cred from an actual war zone.
Mighty Mites were built for the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. They were exceptionally lightweight—roughly 1,700 pounds—which made them ideal for airlifting. This one is an M422A1 model, meaning it features an extended 71-inch wheelbase over the original 65-inch Mighty Mite M422. Importantly, the longer wheelbase allowed for extra storage space behind the seats, which helped massively when hauling goods from one site to the next.
All Mighty Mites were classified as quarter-ton trucks.
RM Sotheby’s has this little guy listed with a four-speed manual transmission, but as Four Wheeler notes, it's a bit more complex than that. There's an integral, single-speed transfer case with a 5.24:1 first gear that's deployed when the shift-on-the-fly four-wheel drive is engaged. This is then mated to a normal three-speed gearbox. Technicalities aside, the Mighty Mite is a cool, functional piece of American military history.
Its 55-horsepower, 1.8-liter V-4 engine probably takes a few minutes to propel the tiny off-roader to its 65-mile-per-hour top speed, but that’s not the point. When equipped with a special kit, which includes a snorkel and waterproof 24-volt electrical system, the Mighty Mite can ford up to 60-inches of water—not bad for a scale-modelesque Jeep. There were only around 4,000 of the mini Jeeps made, so the opportunity to grab one might not come around again for quite some time. We don’t have an auction estimate from RM Sotheby’s but other Mighty Mites in similar condition have sold for under $10,000. That’s a heck of a deal for a cool and quirky off-roader. If you're serious about picking this pint-sized rover up, it'll be heading to auction in late October.

Back in the '90s, Nissan had the Skyline GT-R – the predecessor of the current Nissan GT-R – while Toyota had the MkIV Supra, also the predecessor of the BMW-powered Toyota Supra of the present time. Honda, on the other hand, had the NSX, completing the trifecta of Japanese sports cars that the import scene and tuners go crazy about.
The NSX, which is known as the Acura NSX, in the U.S. got a limited edition model in 1999 and it's called the Zanardi Edition. Only 51 units of this special edition mid-engine sports car were built for the U.S. market, a tribute to Alex Zanardi’s CART championships in 1997 and 1998.
If you're among those who are looking to buy one of those 51 units, it's your lucky day as one of them has shown up for sale at Bring a Trailer. Of course, this particular NSX comes in New Formula Red paint and black interior theme just like all NSX Zanardi Edition models.
The Acura NSX Zanardi Edition is lighter than a normal NSX because of its fixed roof, single-pane rear glass, lightweight rear spoiler, manual steering, BBS wheels, and lighter battery. A total of 149 pounds (67.5 kilograms) of weight savings were employed to this car, which makes it an attractive offering for those who want an NSX with a better power-to-weight ratio.
Under the hood is the tried and true 3.2-liter Honda VTEC V6 mill that's coupled to a six-speed manual gearbox. This #43 NSX Zanardi only has 57,000 miles on its odometer, which means it has been used but never abused.
As of this writing, this rare NSX has a $70,650 bid, which will end in six days. We're pretty sure you don't want to miss this opportunity, so head on over to Bring a Trailer and register to place your bid.

An ultra-rare Mazda RX-7 has just been entered into auction, with bids and comments building for one of the nicest examples to sell in most recent years.
According to the Bring a Trailer listing, the example is a 1994 model — under the JM1FD chassis for the US — in five-speed manual form with only 45k driven miles between three separate owners. The color is the Mazda factory optioned Chaste White (PT) coordinated with black interior seats and dash. The FD RX-7 came with a turbocharged 1.3L 13B-REW rotary engine which produced 255 horsepower and 217 lb-ft of torque, as is found in this vehicle. Options arrive in the form of manually adjustable sport seats, OEM Mazda wheels in 16”x8” sizing, three-spoke steering wheel with mounted cruise control, air conditioning, power windows and an AM/FM cassette deck. The car is claimed to have no accident history, and has all of its previous owners registered in Alabama.
As the world turns to electric cars, modern classics such as this RX-7 will soon be almost impossible to find in conditions other than what’s expected from a 26-year old sports car. The FD RX-7 was introduced in 1992 and made famous for its timeless style, incredible handling, unique Wankel rotary engine and inclusion into pop culture by avenues like The Fast and the Furious and Initial D. Its successor came in the form of the Mazda RX-8 which, while praised by motorists and journalists, arguable did not find the success the RX-7 had throughout its three generations.
View the auction over at Bring a Trailer now, where the price stands at $33,333 USD with five days left at time of listing.

When the 599 Gran Turismo Omologata came out back in 2010, it had some big shoes to fill considering it was Ferrari’s only third model to carry the renowned “GTO” badge after the iconic 250 GTO from the 1960s and the 288 GTO launched in the 1980s. Only 599 cars were made, but the one featured here – built in 2011 – is even rarer as it’s one of the only 125 examples manufactured for the U.S. market.
It’s not the only thing that makes it special as the excellent condition is attributed to the fact the supercar hasn’t been used basically at all in nine years. It only shows 168 miles (270 kilometers) on the odometer, which goes to show it was a business investment from day one rather than a supercar to actually use and enjoy. It would be difficult for some of us to resist the temptation of hopping behind the wheel to take the hardcore 599 out for a spin, but it appears the owner always considered it a garage queen.
...
Even though it wasn’t an actual homologation car like its predecessors, the 599 GTO remains a hugely desirable Ferrari. Mecum Auctions will have it up for grabs during its Indy sale in June. An estimate has not been provided, but expect the rare car to fetch a pretty sum considering California-based CNC Motors has a 2011 599 GTO with 1,385 miles (2,229 kilometers) available for $700,000.

There are certainly cheaper ways to get behind the wheel of a used V12 car, but that’s the beauty of this SL 600, it hasn’t been used much. Available straight from Mercedes at its Classic Center in Irvine, California, this SL 600 from the R129 era is in excellent condition and shows merely 427 miles (687 kilometers) on the odometer. It’s being sold together with the MSO (Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin) documentation, representing paperwork that Mercedes gives to the dealer to title a brand new car to its first owner.
With the R230 debuting the same year when this car was made, we’re looking at one of the final SLs to be built by Mercedes during the long production cycle of the R129 that latest for about 12 years. Being based on the facelifted model that came out in 1995, it means the car is equipped with a five-speed automatic transmission with torque converter lockup clutch that replaced the previously available hydraulic gearbox.
...
Sure, the Sport Leicht costs new S-Class Coupe money and will set you back an extra $20,000 over a new SL 550 Roadster, but we think it’s only a matter of time before someone will pay $135,000 for this pristine R129. As a reminder, a new SL is in the works and is believed to top out with the 73e model featuring about double the horsepower of this classic model.

The R129 is a classy roaster, but definitely not $135k.

Attention to Honda and longroof fans alike. And frankly, anyone who is into the rad era of automobiles. There is a 1986 Honda Accord AeroDeck for sale on Bring a Trailer right now, and it's very much rad.
For the uninitiated, the Accord AeroDeck is a shooting brake from Honda that wasn’t sold here. While we made do with the Accord sedan and coupe body styles in the '80s, some lucky folks on the other side of the ocean were cruising around in these stylish and super utilitarian Hondas. They weren’t cruising around all that quickly, though.
This AeroDeck for sale is an LXR-S model that’s powered by a carbureted 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine. According to some old-timey internet forums, it made 128 horsepower back in the day. Hey, that ain’t that bad! Cars were light back then — this one weighs less than 2,500 pounds. It’s also shifted with a five-speed manual, and like other old Hondas, we’re sure it’s a joy to row through the gears

what in tarnation
I'll be honest, had no idea the AeroDeck even existed. Regardless, can't say it's high on my JDM import list.
