The earlier (187-mile) example went for $151k.
Bidding on this 1,700-mile example starts at $30k.
Any guesses how high this one'll go? My bet is around $110k.

Looks like it was good flip for the owner for that kind of mileage & mostly OEM. Brought the car's maintenance up to spec and added some subtle upgrades so it looks factory stock still.

Final price, $86,500. In many ways, kind of a bargain.

That seems like a steal, compared to the others that have sold recently.

Had my eye on this for a bit. Sold for $27k, but even at that price I couldn't get over the branded title...

Assuming it was truly a lemon buy back related to the fuel pump, that's something I'd be able to overlook. But, I see Forgestars and stretched tires, and that raises some questions for me.

Agreed... but the problem is most buyers don't have common sense when it comes to a branded title and assume the worst... even with documentation. I had a car with a clean title but a minor fender bender and it was a pain to sell. I'm done with branded/unclean titles.

Only buy branded/unclean titles for killer deals or unless you don't plan to ever sell the car has always been my thought process.

$900k
Silver w/ blue cloth interior would be my first choice for a Gullwing, but wouldn't turn one down in any color.

A Gullwing is probably my grail car (since a 300SLR Gullwing is unobtainium).
Got a chance to ride in one ~10 years ago
Amazing how hard a 50yr old car pulls in a straight line.

I agree but at this point all of them are unobtainium. Might as well settle for a SLS AMG. Coupe of course, because doors.

The one I rode in is supposedly the last '57 (not sure if that means ever, or US-spec). Owner said they paid something like $250k for it, in boxes & did a full restoration. Est value at the time was in the $2M range.
I'd pass on an SLS, never loved it as much. SLR or AMG GT for me, if I'm going modern.

Even though the 01-02s were the ones to get, I'd still rock the hell out of that.

Probably less of an issue in a modern car, in a 60yr old 'supercar' (for it's era), I'd be a bit more cautious.

I'm hoping it wasn't a cold start. He did say "startup" and not "cold start" in the video... but still... that was the first thing that popped into my head when he floored it. Guess it doesn't really matter since it sold...

One on the right for me
An 08 TL-S popped up. Low mileage and a manual. Sold for more than I wanted to pay but it would have been nice to replace my pos daily with a newer version.

Saw that, too. Do you happen to kn how much it ultimately sold for?
