holy crap, congrats on one upping is all Jup!
glad you like it, using it on the 5 or 7 today?
when I told her what I was doing I get this
"so how exactly are you going to UPGRADE, yet it not cost you anything after selling your things??? Wouldnt everyone do that if it were the case?"
so then I had to carefully explain how selling Matt's 17-55 would pay for the body, and the rest of the gear would cover almost all of the other things. There might be an omitted $100-150 disparity in each move, and I have one lens left which if I sell the 20D I will still be $300 short on...but she bought it

I just ordered a 7D from canon (refurb) for $1,087.20
Hopefully I can sell my 50D on craigslist or ebay for $500 or more.
Not a huge upgrade, but I've been wanting the better AF and want to experiment with video.

And here I was glad to get my 135 in the mail today.
You will love it.

I got up this morning at 4:30am, was in Fredericksburg about 6am. Unfortunately Osprey not that active this morning.
I bitched out, went to bed at 10pm...legitimately tired. Tossed and turned for 2 hours before I was able to fall asleep. Woke up at three, and there was no way I was going to be driving at least an hour, so I just went back to sleep.
Turns out that they got a perfectly timed weather window just before dawn. I fail

Lol. Yea its hard. I was going to do one today as well but I had to take my brother earlier than expect to the airport. I didn't want to wait another 2 1/2 hours
I'm stunned with f/1.4 on the Sigma 50. Completely usable sharp images! I would never shoot the Canon at 1.4 because it was just too dull - it wouldn't get sharp until 2.0 or so, and I'd have to do a good deal of sharpening to get it to a reasonable point even there.
did you have to do any micro adjustments?
I got my 7D in the mail yesterday. Spent last night getting familiar with it, switching all the settings from defaults and registering the micro-adjustments for my lenses.
I like the shutter feel, but I'm going to have to figure out a better way to switch between the AF modes. Hitting that tiny button next to the shutter isn't exactly easy.

Another thing worthy of mention while we are on topic. By default, a couple of (IMO) useful AF modes are disabled. Go into C.Fn III #6 to enable.

I went through all the custom function menus and did all the lens micro adjustment registrations last night

at first sight lol
