you mean somebody is cranking a focus ring by hand?
Yes. There is a job specifically for that called the 1st Assistant Cameraman. And these days it's done using a remote system as opposed to using a physical flow focus system. Focus scales on cinema lens are also more expanded than still lenses. So it's not micro adjustments.
why is it...all these so-called "mysterious drones" only show up for people with just their smartphones??
I can't wait until one of these nights, when a birder photog sees them and be like... "hold my beer! I got this!"
^^^^I had the X3, and then sold it when I got the X4 last year... I kinda wish I had waited... the bigger sensor helps with low light stuff... and better DR (although, I should say... there was already a noticeable improvement from the X3 to the X4 with DR), I love how the lenses are easily replaceable with the X5, I'm always paranoid about dropping mine, and I hate using the lens guards
but as for 360 cameras in general, they are fun, it's just too bad they're rather expensive and I no longer work at the shop with no employee discounts
Oh I recently picked up a GoPro Hero 13 for $250.
I have a Hero 7 that works fine but I wanted another as like a second perspective camera.
anyways my gosh thing thing got chonky compared to the 7.
I do like that it has built in 1/4-20 tripod mount and it has HLG HDR profile built in. Also 10-bit and LOG option.
also the Bluetooth appears to be always on type connection so I can immediately connect to it with my phone for remote power on/off, start/stop and monitoring. (Might be a battery drain but I’ll take the convenience)
with the 7, I have to first power it on and then connect to it using the app.
probably going to use the 13 as the primary camera and the 7 as either a pedal cam, exterior or maybe focusing on the tach of my car. Want to use them for when I make it to the track.
debating getting a DJI Mic 2, or just getting the media mod and running a cheapish lav mic out my rear hatch and down to my license plate for better exhaust sound.

Yeah that's the thing, you have to have certain purposes for it, you can't just buy one and like, walk around with it, that's so boring.
have definitely noticed it this year - more than a few shoots someone will have like a Mamiya as the only camera they brought. And wow it's pleasantly refreshing to see. I do have a few film SLR's buuuuuut haven't felt inclined to start them up yet, though. But the movement is definitely noticeable. Also have noticed people at shoots talking so casually about shooting film, almost like digital doesn't exist.
Ugh... When I was working at the camera shop, we'd get film shooters coming in to buy film, they were almost always under 30.. They'd shoot analog, get them developed, not printed, but scanned to digital, post them on social media, pretty much just so they can say "shot on film" 😒
Meh 😏
Call me a boomer, but I don’t see the desire to shoot film if you’re just going to immediately convert them to digital, edit and share online.
But I can see the enjoyment of the experience of shooting film.
Different imo than digital where it’s WYSIWYG.
lately I’ve been seeing tons of ads for campsnap. It’s basically like a digital disposable (but actually reusable) film camera where there is no back screen or EVF. So you snap pics for the experience and not worry about the technical details.
They just released a new one that’s like a rangefinder and has a xenon flash. They’re not that expensive so maybe I’ll pick one up to relive my childhood

There is still a discernible textural difference. It also depends on whether you are editing simply to process the image or make a whole digital meal of it.
I havent shot on film in about 6 years, but I cant do much other take up space with prints. So, digital scans and attempt to keep the processing as "analog"as possible in the digital realm.
I have a mama rb67 I really need to get refreshed. I enjoy shooting on it. Im just bummed about no more fuji instant film for it because shooting that was so fun and satisfying.
I also have a latent roll sitting in my Nikon I need to have processed, hopefully its not too late.
