It'll be a nice car as the Accord always is, but it's no 5 series... it's not meant to compete in that arena anyway. So this conversation as I was pointing out to the other guy is moot.
Again, I'm sure the Accord will be nice as it always is... but it's more like a 3 series than a 5. And even then it has a LOT to do to catch up to a loaded 335i

Of course of won't be the equal of a 5 series, nor should it be considering the price and place in the market. I'm just pointing out that no one outside of Honda has driven or knows anything about the car so lets wait and see before we start making any assumptions about how it drives.

lookswise:
6th gen Accord coupe > 8th gen Accord coupe > 7th gen Accord coupe
the 3rd gen to 5th gen Accord coupe doesn't really count to me because they look the same as the sedan version except 2 less doors.

That Temple of VTEC shot looks really good -- they just need to close those gapes in the hood to make it really hawt! It is a picture of a test mule, so hopefully Q/C will be on top of this.
Instead of a G37, I might cheap out and stay within the Honda fold for a few years (if they keep a leather V6 6MT an option). But I have to check with the insurance agent how much it will be to insure it.

Perhaps...
Of course if people didn't say things like '5 series eat your heart out' or 'almost as good as the 5 series'...
Perhaps they should revisit some writing classes if they really meant to say something besides an irrational generalization. Although I admit a lot of my response comes from those who do compare BMW <-> Acura as we have had 38289038290 threads on it. I can see he meant it towards the looks/style of the car.
If you guys hadn't noticed; all sedans basically look similar now days... Especially if you photoshop BMW wheels into the picture... With your basic sedan there isn't much difference between all of them besides some small anomalies. Sadly the headlights, taillights and A&C pillars are what offset the major style queues. Nothing like stuff was back in the 50-70's.... I guess we can blame coefficient drag and the "green" push.
I'll eagerly await for the you should know what people mean to say even though they don't write it reply... this falls into the understanding sarcasm on the internet category.
I think they look nearly identical with the BMW wheels photoshopped in, but I also think that of all the standard commuter sedans look alike now days...

Compared to the other 2 cars you're considering its probably pocket change.

That kid should be beaten for doing that to that Honda. He does not have the sense to even be ashamed. How tasteless.
Now back on topic, I do not like the fog lights that much, but I really like the car. If it is pushing 280 HP, then the wife's 2000 EX v-6 coupe may wind up missing and have to be replaced............

However, the new black spy pics make it more visible, appears it'll be indent a la TL.

I like it.
Its such an improvement over the awkward bulbous wannabe Chrysler aka the 7th gen Accord.

From the TOV photos, it looks like the black EX testing model has turn signal incorporated into the side mirrors. That would be attractive.
In general, everything looks pretty nice to me. I don't care for the rear bumper however, it's really sticking out (photo from Edmunds). The taillights seem a bit too short (while the 7th Gen taillights were way too long when they first came out.)

Seems like a natural evolution from the 7G sedan.

I did some Caculations (yes I know im a math nerd)
The 98-02 Accord V6s had an HP of 200.
The 99-03 TL (non type S) had an HP of 225
Thats increase of 12.5% in HP.
The 03-07 Accord V6s have an HP of 240 (which did get a little increase in 06)
The 04+ TL (non Type S) has an HP of 270 (untill they had to correct that statement)
This is also increase of 12.5%.
So if pattern follows honda trys to increase the HP from the accord to TL by 12.5% even though they werent up to industry standards that seems to be the pattern. So if the 08 accord is supposed to have between 270 and 280 that means the TL could range from 304 to 315. Just thought I would share.

....not in FWD in won't. There's virtually no FWD car available with over 300HP. With Acura's Audi-fication (all models getting SH-AWD) 300HP+ is possible in some AWD TL but not before then. And say good bye to those regular HP bumps with every model - by the time the '13 next gen Accord comes out don't be surprised to see no increase at all.
