Btw, I saw the new redesigned Altima on the road, looks hot!
If we're talking about sales, Honda will have to do something pretty drastic to catch up with the Camry. But I don't think they have to worry too much about the Altima. Don't get me wrong, the new Altima is a great looking car and I'm sure it has the performance to back it up...but the Altima has never been able to get even close to the sales figures of the big two.

Honda needs to get rid of the vanilla styling and give the Accord some personality.

That would be nice. For some reason, everytime I see a G6 coupe I think "that's what the Accord coupe should look like." Now that's a fairly conservative looking coupe that still has an aggressive edge.

Question: What're your thoughts of Lexus cars...? And (disregarding the roadsters) of Mercedes-Benz cars...?

Lexus and Mercedes make unique products and look beautiful even if they arent the most sporty designs.

The Accord looks like every other vanilla sedan out there. There is nothing unique or enthusing about the Accord.

looks pretty boring to me.

Dont get me wrong, if Honda can do what they did to the Civic, then im sure the new Accord will totally change my opinion

Wondering what MB and Lexus (lux brands) have to do with Honda?

...either way....I give you the MB CLS.....far from vanilla....for starters.

And bravo for the LEDs, I hope the new Accord comes with them from the very start too. And the other day I saw a new Toyota Solara...it has LED tailllights! Toyota's quickly jumping on.

Yea...and it will come with 1,000 bucks in the glove box too.
We are talking Honda here.....RWD is a pipe dream....and AWD on an Accord is not going to happen.

I can't see them making the accord look like the sports4 even though that would be great, would put it more in line with the mazda 6 than the camry. But I think they will continue with a style that is bulky like the current car with cues from the civic that give a sharper look overall while still keeping it understated.

I don't know about bulky but the segment does demand a certain interior volume and trunk size. I just hope they don't go "way out there" ....

Although I agree that it will be FWD just like its competitors wouldn't it be possible that a hybrid version might have the electric motor propelling the back wheels as is done in many hybrid setups, thus effectively making the car AWD in the process. I'm just spitballing here but its food for though

What production hybrids have the electric powering the other wheels?

I don't think this is too likely with the Accord, nor is RWD. However, I can see Honda mating an AWD system with the Accord down the road something.

The only current production with hybrid motors driving the rear wheels is the RX400h...maybe the highlander hybrid which is basically the same setup though.

If there are "many", what are other examples? Most other hybrids currently in production drive onlythe same wheels as the engine, either FWD or RWD.

There's always been talk about AWD IMA configurations...I remember rumors going around a couple years ago about a setup like that for the TSX but...but, as Deeno said, most electric motors still take over powering the same wheels from the gas engine.

AWD Accords exist in Japan.... and if Honda is finally bringing over stuff over from their market (e.g. TSX, or even Mugen), I think it should make it over here soon, especially since there is a market for it.

I guess maybe you were talking about whatever the next U.S. Accord is going to be, then I think I'll have to agree, but Acura models should have AWD pretty soon.

Anybody else see G35 coupe, from that angle?
I guess it'll go toe-to-toe with the new Altima coupe.

Considering Honda's past concept drawngs released just before auto shows, I wouldn't get too excited about this.

How about they drop the H badge on the back of it, slap an A badge on it, and call it a CL!

i see a lot of second gen and even fist gen CL influence in the rear.

I honestly think 04EuroAccordTSX must be blind to see "Bentley" of all things in that. Just because it has a sloping rear like a Conti GT that doesn't mean its a Bentley ripoff

Its a Bentley and Aston Martin ripoff, I'm still going by my words on that 18 yr old... just like the 7th gen coupe had Mercedes-Benz ripoff taillights on that.

Thinking back to the days of the first gen CL sketch, then comparing that to what the first gen CL actually looked like... it's really not that much to get excited about.

It goes from chocolate (sketch) to vanilla (production car) really quickly...

meh...judging by Honda's recent designs...this will look nothing like the sketch...and it will be ugly.

I don't know where you guys are seeing Aston Martin or Bentley, but I see heavy Audi influence.

And as we know from typical Honda, the production version won't look anything as aggressive.

nice. but yea, the final product is usually less impressive than what the sketch implies. remember the current gen accord sedan sketch before the car came out? what a letdown.

anyway, im hoping this is close to the real thing. the rear has a bit of some lambo gallardo design elements and god i hope it has some 3-series coupe styling or better yet, aston martin. just keep the front overhangs short enough and please dont make it look like the quirky civic, honda!

If you look at the side skills and bottom 1/3 of the car, it's got more 3 coupe influence than anything else. but not like it matters, I don't think there's one car out there right now whose design is not 'aspired' from some other car(s)

and at the end, like what you guys said, it's not going to look like the sketch, or at least toned down about 10x.

Just look at the current gen civic sketches, and the current gen JDM Accord (TSX) sketches from a few years back
