We've seen the coupe a few weeks ago. And here is the sedan version.
This illustration (I think) shows us the larger US Accord.
Not the more modern looking and slightly smaller Euro Accord that will end up here as the next Acura TSX.
No other news yet. I guess the 3.0 Liter V6 will grow to 3.2 or even 3.5 Liter. But I hear they might keep the same 2.3 Liter engine as a base model. Adding just a little more power to it.
On sale in the fall.

...best friend just mentioned to me that I should have waited for this one, instead of buying the 07 AV6.

^^^ being happy with what you have is a key to happiness in life?
Or you could make like Hugh Hefner and start Playcar magazine in which you abuse a new one every night and post its exposed guts alluringly posed in the monthly mailing.

Damn. I thought Honda started a new US design center for Acura cars to further differentiate Acura products from Honda offerings. Looks like this plan isn't working.

And like someone said, first year models, no matter Honda or otherwise, are likely to be more bug prone. I say stick with you AV6 and enjoy
P.S. How do you like it so far compared to your Max? I've driven both, but curious to hear what you think.

And while the external appearance is not the greatest, I find the AV6 to be a nicer car overall particularly when it comes to its ergonomics and interior comfort. The seats do a great job of straddling both support with comfort. I have no regrets on the move and anticipate that I will enjoy owning this car.

They might go with a 3.2L, but since they are so conservative, I'll be surprised if they even go that far....

Toyota went from a 3.0 to a 3.3 (same body style) to a 3.5. I know Honda is conservative but its possible. I think its more likely they'll move to a 3.2 w 260-270 HP but 'only' 240ish Tq. I don't think the HP wars are the key to winning the battle of the family sedans anyway.

I highly doubt they would use the 3.5L engine too.

Sure, but your forgetting about tourque. A 3.0L will never make the Tq of a 3.5 no matter what tec they put on it. And Honda at this point has no plans for direct injection. Have a look at GreemMonster's link.

I don't think torque figure matters much to car buyers, and besides the 3.0L Accord is not considered weak in torque delivery.
If you read my previous posts you'll see that I agree with that. But I still think there's something to be said for keeping up with the competition. I'm sure it will have the requisite 270 HP so it should be fine.

And Edmunds just tested an Altima V6. It's a fraction of a second slower than the Camry; they think the Camry is underrated.

(My wife thinks the AV6 actually pulls harder at midrange than the Maxima, though I disagree.) The other Maxima attribute that I sort of miss is the interior space, which is very 'airy'.

The VQ in the 2003 (which is the one I remember you having) is very lusty. Lots of grunt for midrange passing.
One aspect that I'm sure you've noticed is the difference in structural rigidity. I've only driven one 2003 Max (SE model) and over potholes I thought I detected an excessive amount of chassis flex - was the 03 riding on a older platform? Even closing the doors didn't elict the solid thunk that an 04 and up Max gives.

Camry and Nissan have moved up in torque...not sure the 3.0 or 3.2 can get there...I would say they want 240-250 torque and that would be the 3.5....AND they have the new A/T from the 07 TL that can handle the torque with less room required...??? Just a guess...like the rest..
#1236
A Honda with torque? Where did you get such nonsense?
I think if anything, they'll pop a J32 in there to say the least. Hopefully it will be a new V6 engine with A-VTEC or whatever it will be called. But a 3.5.... I highly, highly doubt that. Honda is a company that still focuses on economy, and the TL has mediocre gas mileage. The Accord is now a family car, first and foremost, so anything about a 3.5L in an Accord is wishful thinking, at best. I would like to find out that I'm wrong though. But even still, it kind of puts other Honda/Acura models out of place.

That A-VTEC sounds extremely interesting. It would be great to have the power of the higher displacement engines with better fuel economy and more torque. I can't wait to see what becomes of this. I hadn't been to the TOV site in months. Thanks for the link!

Now will the A-VTEC have a lot of torque and muscle like the VQ engines?
