Is everyone ready for the Type S Concept? (Reveal Pics Page 5)

If we are looking at V6TT 3.5L not sure how to feel about it... there is a reason why mostly V6TT is 3.0L ... at the same time I do not see Acura wanting to get more than 450hp out of that engine, so 3.0TT should be perfectly capable.
Fear of "type s" concept is that it will never see the light of the day as a production car. What was shown was a mock, and Acura says this concept will substantially influence how TLX looks in the months, the year coming... That alone tells me they for some stupid reason are keeping "TLX" naming, where such concept deserves better (if V6TT is planned)...
2015-2019 TLX is nothing but a over-glorified TSX with left-over parts that were planned for TL which was cut from the line up in 2014. Frankenstein car pieced out with parts they had on hand and combined with the failure of a transmission called ZF 9-speed.
If this concept or future TLX has something to do that is the following:
- V6TT is a must!
- size of the car MUST grow than what it is now - I do not need another TSX clone with "bells and whistles" that has slight re-designed body
- ZF 8-speed or in-house 10spd, whatever they decide to put in (preferably ZF 8spd)
- no crappy VCM bull$hit "technology" that only ruined the super great engine
- no auto-start/shut-off idiotic feature
Rant - over - 10-4

^While it would be sweet for the next gen TLX to have the ZF 8 Speed, they were specifically made for inline engines. One could hope at least (make it two actually).

So basically you want a successor to the 4G TL?
I love my 2013 Acura TL.

Yeah, well the 4G TL wasn't exactly warmly received when it was in production...particularly given the popularity of the 3G gen. Not unlike the current Accord, the 4G TL was the only version of 3.2TL/TL/TLX that I had no interest in owning.
I sincerely hope that the 4G TL isn't an influencing factor with the 2G TLX.

^Gotcha. It's no surprise Audi is now using the 8 speed from ZF too. I have driven a 340 and I am really surprised with the transmission. It's almost as if it knows exactly what to do at any type of driving scenario. I'd trade the ZF 8 speed over Honda/Acura new 10 AT in house transmission any day.

I see complaints about the transmission on the rdx forum. Apparently Acura is aware of a jerk between 2 and 3 and is working on it. So maybe hopefully by the time the TLX come out it'll be corrected
The fix is to keep driving it and it'll break-in, but of course there's some people who's getting up there in miles and still experiencing the issue

I was really hoping for a digital speedo and the option to move the navi functions into that area.

Looks like the RDX interior. Hard pass if it's the same glitchy infotainment system.

Same dated gauges? Even BMW went digital on the gauges finally. Cmon Acura WTF. Also please don't tell me they put in that Lexus Style mouse pad thing that nobody likes to navigate the navigation.

Seriously, do you trust Acura to deliver on a digital gauge cluster that works? They can't even do an infotainment system right; what makes you think the gauges won't be all messed up as well?

The ZF 8 Speed is still indeed one of the best automatic gearbox out there, we have it in my wife's Grand Cherokee SRT...but let me tell you that the new GM-Ford 10 Speed seems noticeably better IMHO, at least in the version used in the Camaro ZL1 I did extensively drive....astonishingly quick gear changes, GM claim it is actually faster than the Porsche PDK....

Center screen looks identical to the one that BMW just phased out. BTW on finally went digital. BMW went to a digital dash in mid 2017 with the 2018 models. They are now on version two of the digital dash.

I don't mind there being Analog gauges. I think this is going to be much more refined compared to the TLX infotainment system. I'm sure their plan was to release it on the RDX first so they can sort out all the bugs and then finally release the fixes with the new 2021 TLX. I really like the new look of their interior! This is going to be an amazing car.
Also.. I wanted to bring up the taillights. Did you all notice that they are dashes in the lights? Is that because of the camera? I hope they don't ruin the look of the taillights because of the reverse lights being white. I'm expecting LED reverse lights.

I really hope they also keep a "red" turn signal in the back instead of using "yellow" turn signals.

Also really disappointed for the non digital gauges, precision cockpit had some cool tech and graphics for driver. Unless they're saving it for top of the lines versions compared to the one in pic. Makes car look a little dated compared to newer non-luxury models. Better do it right now, instead of waiting another 3 years for refresh.

There are four lights!
I think we're forgetting about the leaks that were provided from the original RDX infotainment system leak. The image below was also leaked. I think they will be giving us a digital screen there.

Interior looks solid so far. I like the current TLX's interior, and the new RDX's as well, so I think this one will be just fine.

Did you get disappointed to see the current TLX sold more cars than the Audi A4 at the moment? 14,933 vs 14,733. I know the number is insignificant and not worth mentioning, but you do care for little things so I want to know

No reason no too. The screens are cheaper to manufacture then analog gauges. Would be a good move.

Let me ask you a question. Do all MB, Volvo, Lexus and Audi vehicles (all trims) come with a digital dash? I am noticing you get disappointed every time you see an Acura news. There is nothing to be disappointed. The digital dash will be available to higher trims like all other brands.

The Civic has had a digital dash display for years now. Then again it also had carplay/android auto before Acura got it in the TLX. Seems like it should be the other way around where new tech features filter down to the lower models rather than the reverse. I thought the "precision concept" car Acura was showing a year or two ago had at least a mocked up digital dash (not sure if it was actually functional at that time).
