Turbo Kit for Acura TL '04-'08

If you ever get the chance to take a tour of a place like Turbonetics I suggest you do it. The balancing part is very neat and the machines and computers that do it are amazing. If your turbo wasn't lacking oil, you could put a compressed air nozzle in the exhaust side. You won't believe just how efficient the turbine wheel is until you put just a small amount of air to it.
The compressor wheels are fun to watch too. They're CNC milled on a 5-axis machine from a solid piece of aluminum. The process is amazing.
I've had the turbine wheel come apart on a Precision TE62. The firing order of the Buick V6 is not kind to some turbos, the harmonics can cause the turbine wheel to come apart and believe it or not a blade of the turbine wheel made it through the cast iron housing and made a sharp dent in my hood. It actually looked like it almost made it through the hood.

Can't you fix that thru changing the legnths on the headers? That GN engine bay has ALOT of room in it to work with if I remember right.

Not that anyone implied but to clear up any concern All Parts Are Brand new haven't been used or tampered with , turbos comes just like it is from precision..the next box will contain all the rest of necessary parts for install which you'll be getting a tracking number for if not by Friday at least hi-speed ......

yep, like my shift boot, lol! You can get em at redline goods
Well i haven't had it at 400, but when we were at Bline it wasn't bad at all, but i guess we'll find out. Maybe i should just workout the left arm for a while.
That “Tue 16 Feb #4” video got my heart to start pounding and my adrenalin to start pumping.
That must be one awesome rush to feel. Damn that sounded great !
Damn great job Rodney ! You da’ man !
When does Xiomaro get the car back? I am hungry for some street action
Xiomaro, do you have a camcorder and is your left arm stronger than 400 ft lbs of torque steer? Damn, I would love to see some street action with that bad boy

Xiomaro,
About the strong left arm. My comment was regarding using your right hand to hold a video camera and fighting torque steer with the left hand. I forgot that you were 6MT and you need both hands to drive. Dooh. Really would be awesome to get videos with the turbo doing some killing.
GoPro on-board video camera for motorsports (click here)
The standard resolution (not HD) camera is just $199. For YouTube, we don't need the HD.

Let me post this again for all who's wondering what to do as far as exhaust ....
The downpipe is 3" so on your custom setup use 3" piping all the way to the back where it splits, and then 2.5" to connect to mufflers of your choice......that is what we ran on our car

He has the part numbers too... doesn't look too bad, just gotta get different piping, and maybe move the tips to be more flush with the bumper.

Get it into the low 13:1 range or lower for a daily driver.
That's the kind of stuff you run on a race gas tune when you're trying to set records.
Are you guys monitoring knock?

if it was me, i wouldnt be caught dead WOTing around town with a a/f line like that. you guys be careful!

Not to bicker but all of a sudden you're saying we don't know a safe airfuel ,which this isn't our first rodeo or tuned Tl which have been running trouble free for over a year ,and as far as who's doing our tuning the same guy that have been getting the job done since the get go .......

runnin a little boost

One issue I have not seen addressed is the need for a finish tune or small tweeks to tune for conditions in your area. I plan on having the tune fine tuned to Cali weather as part of the install. I figure the humidity and air temp might make the tune different.

im not saying you guys dont know what a safe a/f ratio should be. people have their own interpretations of whats safe and not safe. thats why im looking for reasoning behind the tune more than anything else.
if you can, try and post up a vacuum/boost graph too, so we can get a better picture of whats going on.

Is knock being monitored?

The lean transition into boost is fine. It helps spoolup. Even though it's usually the other way around, we have to fight against a rich transition. If you're running in the 12s with the pedal to the floor you're good to do.
And to the others, 16:1 is very common and ok when you lift off the throttle.

Thank you for commenting guys I'm never the one not to listen .....but as far as the tune ect ,it is fine how am so sure becuase since we've been testing the types we have been testing it with an undisclosed reprogram ecu that monitors fuel and lock timing and deals with all the essentials to make sure everything is in check, and it's been working excellent so far driveabilty is fine fuel mileage has increased ect ..most of us on the forum know a lot while some are just watching and hoping to learn ,so I'm glad when things are explained so everyone is sort of educated , as far as elaborating on ecu I can't so please don't bust my chops asking sorry .....
