I spy...

Sorry to change the topic back to the '10 TSX...

From the auto show's 2009 move in gallery. What's beneath the Acura sign in the middle of the picture?

So the press meeting is at 3:00 Chicago time. How long after that are we going to have to wait till the reporters and Acura release all this good info to us. Time will tell hopefully no later then the end of the day. The suspense is killing me. In less then a year I will be done with Chiropractic school and off in the real world trying to make money. The 04 is good but I would love an 2010 with SH-AWD 6MT and a v6, so much so I am willing to take out a loan to get one. One can dream...

They won't come out at the same time. The '10 TSX is due in the summer and the TL in the fall. After all the hype surrounding the 6MT in the TL, why would the 'steal' their own thunder by introducing a 6MT TSX AWD first? I'm really (make that REALLY) thinking that everyone expecting an AWD TSX is setting themselves up for a BIG disappointment.

Especially since we've already been told that it won't be SH-AWD like over a week ago . If you guys want SH-AWD buy an RDX or TL

I don't think there's been an official press release and this is why. I've been saying it for about 2 years though based on good info. Can't name a source so I refrain from calling it a 'fact'

I am one who would really like the SH-AWD but I know its a HUGE LONG STRETCH. I am guessing in a year the 6MT V6 will be available and then maybe another year a 5AT SH-AWD and then finally a 6MT SH-AWD 6 months to a year after that. Acura is smart, if they blow out all the good stuff now, what will they have for the future to offer? They will offer it up in small bits and pieces making us want more every time, but giving out enough to make us go buy one. Who knows, maybe there will never be SH-AWD on the 2G TSX, they might hold that off for the 3G TSX in 2013/2014.

I'm talking about the info posted by VANDY on page 14 one week ago. That pretty much confirmed no SH-AWD. Of course one could conclude that it might come at MMC, but I doubt it. Of course I also wish that this is the case, but I wouldn't bet on it (or hold off a purchase for it).

Considering the base TSX is $29k, I don't see how a model with the V6 and SH-AWD could be below $35k.

^ That pricing puts it at the starting price for a base TL. Makes sense.

Here in Canada a Tech TSX with AT is already $400 more than a base TL. Can't wait to see how they work the pricing out. A V6 TSX with Tech could end up being 2-3K more than a base TL.

Press conference is around 3pm I believe. Here's a link to the live web cams at the show, in case anyone wants to watch.

http://www.chicagoautoshow.com/multimedia/webcam.asp

Unfortunately I'll be in a meeting from 2:30-?

Damn. The web cam for Acura's area isn't available yet.

I'd assume the one by Acura's booth, but it's not working yet. Keeps putting me back on Honda.

The icon for the camera is kind of covering up Acura's logo, but it's by Infiniti and Audi also.

I can't hear anything or even see movement so I don't think it will profit me much. I can't even find an Acura.

Yeah, for some reason it's not moving (live) and it's just focused on Infiniti.

Their servers are probably just buckling under the load which is pretty lame given that it's not likely to be attracting a particularly huge amount traffic.

I have a quick question, maybe someone can answer. If I make double payments on a new loan do I pay off the car twice as fast or does the double payment get absorbed by front-loaded financing costs?

Click on the left side of the page and hold the mouse down to pan to Acura's booth.

I wonder if that red car in the foreground is just a fully optioned TSX or if its got something else lurking under the hood......

It does kinda feel that way, but this could be my next car! (I hope) Anyways, I don't mind moving down from a TL-S to a TSX V6 in a couple of model years, it will be a lateral move anyway.

I think it's a CPO TSX. They always have at least one CPO at the shows.

Looks like this event isn't happening till 3pm CT. I was hoping for ET!! Now I'm going to be in a meeting when the excitement is unveiled.

As long as you don't agree to stupid terms like penalties for early payoff (so the shady lending institution gets the full amortized value despite the fact that you are no longer benefiting from the use of their assets), it's always best for you to pay off as much as you can as quickly as you can. Even if you pay the same amount monthly but make a weekly payments instead a single monthly payment you can save a lot of money over the course of your loan. I'm almost done paying off my 4 year loan in about 1.5 years. It will have saved me almost $2k in interest by the time it's done.

Sorry guys but the Acura event is on the grand concourse media stage, not at the Acura booth. (According to the schedule on the auto show site at least.) So we won't be able to watch it live on the cameras.
