Thanks! Late December apparantly is not the right month for catching the ladies at the beach! My girlfriend flew out and rode back with me. We toured San Francisco, the wine country, and stopped at the Grand Canyon on the way back.

5,000 miles on the road trip = 21,000 miles on the TLS. This won't happen every year but it was really, really fun. Sorry I missed Vegas but the weather was so bad I didn't want to chance it. It sounds like you had the royal treatment and lots of fun. Any juicy stories I may have missed?

so anywyas I've gotta take my MCAT this semester... once I get that med school acceptance letter expect a supercharger to go on and some mad mods... cuz then I know I'll eventually be bankin'...

Kodak color max film--and get the 800 speed if you have "poor" lighting conditions. I don't have digital so I have to use a scanner.

I would go with the exhaust. Am I right in thinking you have headers? The exhaust would release the full potential of the headers and maybe a little practice on the tree and you could smoke Ruf! He He

So Ruf, I see how things are gonna be now...

For now it is just talk, but which if the two do folks like better:

OZ Superleggera

or

Kosei K-1 Racing

I know they are totally different--just getting opinions so far.

All I need to do is hypnotize Ruf--the one race I won he was making sure I was stagging correctly and forgot about the tree!!!

But then we all saw the video...HA!

100 lbs = .1 sec
Less back pressure = more hp

I prefer the OZ's. The others are nice, but not my style, and I think the OZ's would look better on that car IMO.

And I agree with Bluesman. A little exhaust work never hurt. And yes, less back pressure = more hp, but only when you have a high velocity exhaust (i.e. don't get 3" exhaust, that's to LITTLE backpressure). A good 2.5" Mandrel bent piping with a nice muffler, quiet or loud is your call, and you'll get better low end power.

And if you DO decide to help me out this Friday afternoon, a digicam is always a fun toy for such an event. DuckBlue will be with me and I'm gonna try to get him to bring his digicam for before and after pics.

Only one more post and you would have had it.

Okay, real stuff...
Inferno,
I've seen the OZ Superleggera on a CL ( I think the Comptech CL has them actually) and they look pretty good. But those Kosei K-1 Racing in white might look pretty sporty. Do you have a nice side shot of your car, or another white TL, if so I'll attempt a PS job for you to see what the wheels would look like.

So I got pulled over Sun. night at about 1 am doing 55 in a 40. I was on a nice smooth road which is hardly ever crowded, and it was nice and empty at 1. So I was just cruising along listening to the bose, and then I see a couple cars going in the oposite direction. I figured what are the chances out of just the few cars on the road that one would be a cop... well they were pretty good. As soon as I could make out the first car I thought, "man that really looks like one of those unmarked cop cars." Sure enough, it was a dark blue crown vic, and as soon as it passed me it did a u-turn. I was soooo pissed at myself, I haven't had a ticket in about 4 years. So I get in the right lane, and the cop starts coming up on me quickly. I slow down, turn on my hazards, turn off the car, roll down both windows, turn on the dome light and grab the steering wheel. The lady cop comes up and says "Is there some kind of emergency?"
"No, no just headin home."
"Well I clocked you at 55 in a 45, i mean 40. Can I see your insurance and license."
So I give her those and she goes back to check on them.
I work for the city of Arlington, so I was trying to come up with cops names that I've worked with b4, and I pulled out my city ID, hoping that would get me a break.
Then she comes back and says, "Well, I'm just gonna give you a warning tonite. The weather's been pretty bad today, and those bridges could be icy. You just need to be careful okay?"
"Thank you maam, thank you very much, I'll be careful, thank you!"
I was sooooo happy, I couldn't believe I got out of that. 15 over is pretty high for the area I was in, I was sure I'd get a ticket.

So that was my lucky sunday night, I should have gone and bought some lottery tickets.

Just couldn't come up with any poem to inaugurate the event. Maybe it's just because I'm tired.

Instead I've decided to play with my avatar and title. I think i'm set with the way i've changed it.

What do you guys think.

I spent quite some time using a product called Macromedia Fireworks (instead of Photoshop) and removed the car fromt the background with a lasso. Afterwards, I used the Eraser tool and softened the edges to give the car a more natural look. Was too hard actually, but took patience. Once removed from the background, I pasted the remaining part onto a transparent background and exported the image. Whenever I drop my car this friday, i'm going to take a simple before and simple after pic. I will then take the after pic and do the same and change my avatar again. Can't wait.

And danny, if you want, I'll take the original version of that pic you have as your avatar and rip out the car and send you the final pic.

Just email it to me to csim@irvingtool.com

I think I'll give that a try myself, but thanks. After I asked the question, I thought about it and figured the lasso tool was the easiest way to do it. Just like selecting the painted area to change the car's color.

Exactly. Unfortunately, I have yet to "obtain" a copy of Photoshop 7 which has a lovely new feature called "Magnetic Lasso." You select a starting point and trace the object you want to cut out and it draws the lasso around your object. It's not perfect, but makes the job 100x easier.

Casper, have you ever thought about changing your grille to the 97-99 grille. Or can it even be done easily?

If it was cheap I would do it in a heart beat. In order to change my front end to the front end of the 97-99, I have to change the bumper, headlights, corner lights, and grill. There are advantages to all.

Bumper - looks cooler.
Grill - looks cooler.
Headlights - 95/96 are glass and the 97-99 are plastic and so, the 97-99 headlights are clearer because Nissan puts the texture on our glass.
Corner lights - no real advantage, pretty much the same.

So yeah, that's THAT whole ordeal.
