I don't know if these are 20"s or not, but they're definately bigger, and there's a little more of a drop.

I know they are totally different--just getting opinions so far.

Inferno
What is the weight on the K-1s?

I personally liked the Superleggeras. The 17x7s weight a sweet 15.2lbs. But I wouldn't get them because you would be ripping me a new arse at the track. Then I'd have to get headers to even things out. :P

I dig the 5 spokes!! Hey, I got the Khumo Ecsta MXs mounted today. They look good and they grip good. I just don,t know if they will last long. One of the guys at Discount didn't think so but anouther said he had,had Khumos on several cars and was very pleased. They were 712s. We'll see. For now they are great. I also found out I had one bent wheel. Anybody want to sell one stock 99 spider type wheel?

Looks great but I am thinking the 17" x 7" that weigh 15.2 lbs. would be what I would want. Damn that is light. $1,200 bucks is a lot--just for the wheels. I could use my current tires that way. Of course, I am stuck with that size and my concern is being able to upgrade the brakes in the future (like I really need big brakes). Thanks for the "look" at the future of my car, Danny!!!

They will be fine unless you abuse them all the time (some of the time is OK)...

By the way, what is the tread wear? Inferno

Any of you ever hear about these electric turbochargers? There's one on eBay for $40 with claims of up to 60hp, forcing 450cfm(cubic feet per minute) of airflow. There's another that claims to force more air into the engine(750cfm) at eRam, but has hp gains of up to 15hp... Anyone have one, heard of anyone who has one, or has any opinions on this?

I know what you mean. I love the look of 18", 19", and 20" wheels. But I really like the light weight 17"s for going fast too.

High performance tires tend to wear down rather quickly. Tread wear in general is when your tires wear down, and start to go bald.

I got about 7K miles out of my current set, but I wore down about 80% of my tread in 2 weeks when I decided to hold off on getting an alignment. :o

yeah, I bent up one of my wheels again(front passenger), and I had to put it in the shop yesterday. I tossed a stock rim on there, and boy lemme tell ya I pull to the so right bad at WOT, its not even funny. I damn near lose control of the car! I need to find 2 very lightweight rims for the track or somethin', then I'd be back in business.

Posted this earlier, thought you guys would wanna see how well your 6speeder did last night...

38 degrees outside

R.T.-------1.1848 (O shit was that light on?)
60ft------2.4294
330ft-----6.3354
1/8ET----9.5401
1/8MPH--77.26
1000ET--12.2632
1/4ET-----14.5901
1/4MPH---98.12

14.5901 @ 98.12

I hit a 14.6055@ @ 97.23 on my first run ( first run ever ) and then lowered tire pressure after that to 25PSI on both fronts and was doing the same all night. Lots of 14.7s and 14.6s . My 60 ft times are terrible and I don't know what else to do about it. Maybe someone can give me some pointers. I think I should be hitting somewhere around 14.50 if I could just get my launch down to 2.3 something. I'm dropping the clutch at around 3500 and I was doing best with that. Tires squeal a lot but that's expected I guess.

Best RT ------- 0.6236
Best 60FT ---- 2.4294
Best 1/8ET --- 0.5401
Best 1/8MPH - 77.50
Best 1/4MPH - 98.42

What tire pressure should I be running at?
What should I be launching at?
What 60 fts are the best anyone has done here stock?
What about 1/4ET and 1/4MPH, best for stock 6sp?

Thanks everyone

DUDE! I need new tires. Your 60fts are a TON better than mine. I can't manage to get anything near a 2.186 like you did.

My best 60' time was 2.277, that was on my 14.6 run. But all the rest were in the high 2.3s. Maybe if you try dropping the clutch at lower rpms like 3000 or 2500 and see if that will give better launches cause it won't spin the tires so much.

Mantis, that is terrible. Sorry to hear it.

I hit a piece of plywood (1 1/2' square) today that the car in front of me drove over and it was sucked into the air. It hit my front bumper and left a mark that is pretty obvious.

Sorry Inferno. The tread wear rating is 220 or 225 I think does that sound right?
