Ah, just what the Dr ordered.

After getting everything checked out and with the streets finally nice and dry after the sunny day we had . . . I had to take my baby out for a test drive. :P

Well, wouldn't you know it. Some turd in a Maxima SE is behind me acting like a twat. He keeps gunning it up to my backend, but he won't pass . . :rolleys: 6 speed from the way he's hopping it.

Anyway, I've got the dog, yes the dog is in my arms but what the hey. He finally gets a light next to me and whoops, where did he go??? In the back just like my dog.

Actually, it was pretty close, but I jumped on his @$$ and pulled him a bit until he gave up over embarrassment . . .

The moral of the story is . . don't mess with Ruf when he's out for a quick spin or he'll make you feel like a biche . . :P

Probably not . . . this guy wasn't that cool . . . he really was a bit of a twit as he really was racing up on my backend and then slowing down. He did that 3 times . . . not sure what he was doing other than messing with me and I was driving respectable because I had the dog in my lap.

And thanks . . I wouldn't have remembered that you didn't wish me a Happy B-day. You know old age causes memory loss . . . and other things as well. :P

I saw a commercial for a new casino up I-35E at the Okla border. Supposedly 1 hr away from Dallas. Anyone familiar with this? Couldn't find shiot on the web for it, though. Winstar I *think* was the name of the resort.

i've actually been to the shreveport/bossier casinos 6 times since i turned 21 in july talk about addiction

Winstar is exit1 in oklahoma north of I35, but i've never been there. I saw an ad in the newspaper, saying its only 1hr away. But they're hrs are 9-6, not 24hrs?

i'm addicted.. maybe i can win some money for an ice box

i only play blackjack.. the slots eat my money like crazy, and i dont know how to play craps
and the odds on roulette are way too obviously in the favor of the house (actually, is there any game that isnt?)

funny story, i did some "research" over the summer- hence why i was at the library - and that was the time I was hit while parked

I've heard that the odds for the house are lowest in BJ than any other game. The house is still favored, but just barely. But you gotta know some strategy.

Print out some black jack tables and memorize them on the drive to Shreveport or flight to Vegas. That'll get you to around 49%. Anything better than that depends on what the house allows, i.e. surrenders, etc. Of course, when I get hammered from the free drinks all night, I probably drop to around 40%.

I believe playing the line in craps is straight odds--and the only place in a casino that has that. I lose my azz everytime I try it, so I stick to blackjack.

BJ that the ticket . . . :P

er, I mean Black Jack.

I played once from 10:30 till 4:45am in Vegas and ended up $40 net. The key is to get in on a low $$ table early and stay there. When you get on a losing run you can drop to you minumum table limit. In this case it was a $5 table that went up to $20min buy midnight . . the good news is you are locked in as long as you don't leave the table. The bad news is you can only leave for nature breaks. .

Well I've officially had the car for two weeks and a rock hits my windshield and cracks it. I should've gotten it fixed the same day but I waited for a day and bam, now I have to replace the whole thing. I guess my question is? Is there anywhere I can go that can do the replacement cheap and well? How much would I be expected to pay for a thing like this...I heard between 200-400? You guys have anyone that can HOOK me up? hehe. Lemme know. - mike

Mike: have you insurance pay for it. they usually cover most of the costs and you can find a place that won't make you pay the deductible.

duckblue: I haven't talked to austin. Just e-mail him and maybe you guys can work something out. if not have it sent to a friend or something in oklahoma and go pick it up on a trip there. Or maybe to sherverport or something. if not maybe you can work it out so that he can ship it here to austin and file it somewhere else though that's illegal and a bit shady.

ruf: 8PM then? what other guys are down for hooters at 8PM on friday night?

danny: I still have the S03s. They're great. They're on now remember? A guy is coming to pick up my stock tires with about 50% tread left for $100 for the whole set. I'm getting ripped off but I just need to get them outta the garage.

my car is still in theshop. hopefully leather on driver's seat will be replaced and also the clutch needed to be reoiled or something of the sort. They'll explain tomorrow when the service manager decides if he's going to fix my leather or not. If not then I'll pick it up tomorrow.

They did sunroof repair and aligned the steering wheel last week for me.

I still like the DMD back in Plano much better. Those are good guys. I miss the great service I always got there.

Vandergriff s ervice I'm not sure on but I had a sales guy treat me like shit there. He offered me the car I wanted for the right price but was so pushy and pressuring that I told him to go shove the 6 speed tranny up his ass... I told him I'd have to think about it when he offered me the price. He told me "If you weren't going to buy the car today you shoudln't have wasted either of our time."

I continued to tell him that I would rather pay $1000 more somewhere else then give him this sale.

I went to DMD in plano and they gave me the same price and took care of me.

Plus Vandergriff is too far from me. DMD is 10 minutes from my house. I live in Plano so it's perfect.

it's too bad about that sale though. The salesman I worked with was so nice and I really wanted to give him the money. If his manager wasn't such an ass I woulda bought it there. I called their GM and complained. He offered me the same deal but my pride got the best of me and I stayed with DMD.

I really like Goodson Acura in Irving. If you go there, ask for Susan Tableman and visit with her about Comptech mods--she is the NSX service person and did all my Comptech installs (except the icebox which we did as a group install). Their prices are not dirt cheap, however...

Oh, and here's an invite for you boys to come on out to our meet. As always you are more than welcome. I also wanted to point out the JDRF walk for a buddy of mine.

Vandergriff in Arlington (new site in the last year, btw) did my tranny replacement and alignment, and took care of me pretty well. No complaints from them on any of it.
Goodson is where I go for general maintenance -- tranny flushes, coolant flush, etc., and I couldn't be happier with their service.

Damn, I thought you were fixed on selling them. I might need new tires soon, and I don't think now is a good time for me to upgrade to 18"s, so I was just gonna get some more 17"s. Oh well.
