When are you going out? Also, what business is the parking lot in front of? I "MAY" be able to swing by with the STi before I take my girlfriend out this evening--say in the early afternoon...

Folks . . . it's real . . . Inferno's STi . . . :P

For some reason I keep wanting to think of the WRX STi as a Dodge Neon STi . . .

Anyway, Inferno's choice of Black was orginally a bit in question . . IMO, but he has the White TLS . . . the Good, and now he has the Black WRX . . . the Bad . . so a good choice for the bad boy car on the street.

And it looks awesome . .

BTW - my boys were wanting to know if I could beat it. I told them no. They then asked could I "tweak" mine and beat it and if that's why I was working on mine. :P I told them no, I'd have to do some serious tweaking to beat that "Factory Race Car".

Can't wait to see Inferno pull some 13's at the track . .

Sorry Inferno . . I didn't check the thread and went out earlier with the boys.

There were some really nice cars there, and a few that needed some work. :P

My favorite, humm, let's see, the 70 Road Runners? or the 66 SS Malibu Pro Street? or the 69 Charger 500, like in TFS?, or maybe the 60 Vet? Too hard to tell, but if they gave me one, I might take the 60 Vet.

Mugen installed, after a few set backs.

Needed to buy a 15/16 deep socket (or a 23mm) to remove the fan switch.

Also, I tried to use the gasket that came with the new thermostat . . . bad idea. You need to get a new one from Acura or use the old one, which looks to be in good shape. It's a rubber gasket so unless old or torn, should work again. Bottomline is that I ended up with a leak and had to it all over again. Anyway, it seems to be fine now.

If anyone is considering doing this mod let me know. I'll help if I can or let you borrow the socket. Also, it helps if you have small hands. the bolts can be a biche.

Here are the details if you need them.

Item Desc Price
37760XK500N0 Thermo Switch (DC2,5) $45.00
19301XGRM0000 Low Temp Thermostat $69.00
19045XGER0000 Mugen 1.3 Bar Rad Cap $29.00

The last item is optional as you can use any highpressure radiator cap, as in Comptechs or other.

Total price with S&H was $153.00

The place to order it is:
http://www.kingmotorsports.com/

While this doesn't add power, it does help to keep it running a bit cooler. Depending on how much will impact how much power loss you have by running hotter. As we all know, more heat equals less net power.

It is supposed to be ready Wednesday. I had a little extra time and figured I'd roll by the body shop and look through the fence to see if I could make out any progress. Well, I saw it sitting in the corner, no panels were off, nothing looked fixed, it didn't look like they even started on it. I didn't go in to question the progress, but it doesn't look like it'll be ready Wednesday, I just hope I'm wrong.

this group has seen everyone together in quite some time....

civic, there is a Capitol Z of Texas meet this weekend in Austin. If you check our forums, you'll see the thread. It's a sticky. If you could, swing by and snap a few pics. They are raffling off a 240Z with an L28 engine in it!
