$20 to rent a helmet ($300 to buy a really good helmet)
$20 for "race photo" by a pro photographer
$??? to prep your car. This will include about $30 for the inspection, I had new pads and the rotors turned (under warranty--and I used 1/2 my new pad in one weekend), tires need to be in good shape, etc. I did my 22,500 mile tune-up to "prep" the car and had them flush the brake fluid with Super Blue (Redline would work, etc). I think I spent about $200 but I had to anyway.
$50 misc. other stuff: window cleaner, big plastic tote box to put stuff in, folding lawn chair, sun screen, etc.
All told, you are going to drop $600 on the weekend, which is pretty steep.
The good news is that you can spread half before the event and half after the event if you use your credit card to pay for everything.
The bad news is that you want to go back again immediately because it is more fun than you have ever had in your life. Seriously...

Acura Presence Requested.....?
Well guys, maybe they just like you for some reason, but your presence has been requested for our meet.
We've got an accord that hangs out with our group a lot now and he knew that I frequent the CL boards. That and a few of the older members like yall's cars, so here is the meet info if any of you would like to go.

That SC is BEAUTIFUL!!!
The one big problem is that according to Comptech, it is only making 35 HP extra at the wheels on the 5 AT slushbox. $5,000 for 35 HP seems a bit steep for me. If you have the 6 MT, the gains are 50-55 HP at the wheels for the same money. This isn't just the slip loss possibly but may include fuel mapping issues by the AT computer that they can't solve. It sucks that this is so...

Casper, I would come to the Nissan meet, but that's the weekend b4 the last week of the semester, so of course that means everything is going to be due next week. I'm gonna be doing homework all weekend.

I was thinking the same thing. A couple friends of mine from work went. I could have gone cause they had an extra ticket, but one guy is an extreme parrothead, and he gets really annoying when it comes to Buffet. He gets insanely hyper and excited and he sings very loudly, and horribly. So I decided to pass on that experience.

They are here, they are mounted, they are PERFECT!!!!! I am sooooooooo happy!!!!!
Sorry guys, no pics yet b/c I don't have a digital camera. Even my girlfriend thinks the look great! Now I am heading out for my (early) birthday dinner someplace she has reservations...
P.S. the stock wheels weigh 23.8 lbs each--10 lbs more EACH wheel...

And thanks for the offer to come over, Mantis, but I just got home and now I have to head back to Dallas to play in a soccer game at 3:00. I won't be back up to Collin County until after 6:30. And I am hurting a little from too much booze last night...
