There are 2 pentalobe screws on the bottom of the phone. Once removed, the back glass slides right off and you have access to all the innards of the phone.
I'm not knocking the iPhone... you can see the reason Samsung's Galaxy class is around. But what was the design reasoning of not being able to change batteries quick like?
Maybe it was designed product obsolescence... my iPad 1 doesn't hold a charge great anymore. Apple setting me up for the 3 which I'll buy.

So, the lack of interchangeable batteries allows the design to be thinner and better looking.
The built in product upgrade every/other cycle is like a built in bonus.
Personally, Ive never had an issue with it. My iPhones, iPad, and laptop all work fine. And if I keep them long enough where they need a new battery, I'll buy the parts and replace it myself.
With apple design reigns supreme.

But I will debate on being thin. My Sammy Skyrocket is much thinner than the 4S. Looks are open to debate, but Sammy copied Apple for their XMas white version that I have.
But hell, I have a drawer full of "greatest" phones for almost 20 years. The service and data plans drive me more today than the phone brand. Which all the carriers will be screwing us.
Somebody made a point about cell service in another country. If you call me on your cell phone, why should we both be using minutes? Of course ATT to ATT is free, but...
Wow this was the 2nd easiest jailbreak I've ever done (jailbreakme.com was soooo easy). Absinthe on my wife's 4s thru Windows7. It took like 20 minutes and no restoring needed. Dream Team indeed.
You would know better than I. I've only held one for about 5 minutes in the ATT store and thought the screen was too small and my fingers too fat.

Holy shit! Apple had a monster quarter! Seems like everyone is getting an iPhone again now that it's on the top three carriers. Apple outsold Samsung last Q by 2m phones
Apple just announced its Q1 2012 results, and the company booked a $13.06 billion profit on $46.33 billion in revenue, marking the biggest quarter in company history — well over 50 percent larger than its previous record in Q3 2011. Apple sold an astonishing 37.04 million iPhones, 15.43 million iPads and 5.3 million Macs during the quarter, which represent increases of 128 percent, 111 percent, and 26 percent from last year. That's 2m more phones sold than Samsung shipped last quarter, which is astonishing.
iPod sales were down 21 percent to 15.4 million, continuing their slow decline. International sales accounted for 58 percent of the quarter's results. It's an absolute monster of a quarter — handily beating analyst estimates and offering a sharp rebuttal to earnings that missed estimates last quarter.

It's not free...

I just jailbroke my iPhone a few hours ago. First time ever. It's a 4S running Greenpoison/Absinthe.
Just installed Infinidock, SBSettings, Dreamboard, and iFile. Not sure what to do next, but finally getting this phone JB'd made a huge difference. I was soo considering going back to Android, but took a leap of faith and waited it out.

What do you think about Liquipel?

I can see it for basic water protection, but for the audio port, etc. I don't know.

Action Menu - more features from when you tap to copy/paste
Bigify+ - shrink icon/folder sizes
BiteSMS - text without unlocking phone and read texts without going into the text menu nor notification center

Gridlock - icons and folders don't have to be next to each other.
Icon Renamer - self explan.
Springtomize2 - essential for modifying many items. look this one up
Unlockfx - animation when you unlock the phone
Winterboard - really don't use
Zephyr - swipe between apps with a gesture. I use 2 finger.
3G Unrestrictor - make Facetime calls over 3G, use apps that require Wifi to think you're on Wifi (Xfinity app to watch shows).
DisplayOut - mirror iPhone to TV via Apple HDMI cable.
Lock seconds - show seconds in lock screen clock
YouTube Search for Notification Center - that. a little faster than going into Safari

iPhone 5 specs tipped by Foxconn worker
The next generation iPhone, tentatively titled iPhone 5, has been tipped by a Foxconn China employee and is said to ready for production now with a summer launch in the wings. This newest iPhone is said to have several iterations being tested at the moment, with no one model being the clear victor before full production begins. Each of these devices has at least a 4-inch display with one of them being made by LG.
Each of the devices being tipped here are symmetrical in thickness, this meaning they’re the same width at the top as at the base with no “teardrop-shape” in any of them. Each model is also longer and/or wider than the current iPhone 4S. None of the devices being tipped have the same form factor as the iPhone 4/4S, and none of the devices are absolutely final in their build.
This source speaking with 9to5mac is who they said tipped them late last summer on the iPhone 5 saying that it wasn’t going to happen and that Apple was at the time building the iPhone 4S instead. Because that tip turned out to be so very, very accurate, we can only expect the same level of assuredness from this newest tip as well. So what’s that mean, a bigger iPhone that’s still slender without a form-fitting back? That certainly sounds like something that could turn out to be true!

I won't regret getting this phone. I tend to skip a generation of phones almost every time I upgrade, but if I want a phone badly enough I'll close to full price on ebay or amazon. I am actually considering getting another Galaxy S2 just to play with when the price comes down.
If it comes out sooner than October some will have the mentality that they could've waited "a little longer" to get a completely different phone rather than a slightly better 4. People were already pissed that the 4s variations from the 4 weren't what they deemed the "5" ie a new iPhone.
That sound like a Samsung release schedule all done in the same calendar year. Swear, every time I turn on TV, them ATT and Verizon are selling a new Samsung phone.

The next one will be the 4S GT then the 4S GT500 then the 4S GT500 special edition. Each one will have a new feature, half a megapixel more on the camera.
