Apple: iPhone News and Discussion Thread
Ok, the iPhone I got the wife for xmas was a hit. She loves it for the most part. Is there a non jailbroken app to be able to toggle wifi on/off quickly like in the pic stunna posted? She could do it with two clicks on her android phone.
No there isn't and I only really use SBSettings to turn MyWi on and off
How is this working out? I may add it for the wife. Wifi toggle is a must have.
Ok once you install spire, how do these validation tokens work? I have a friend with a 4s who would probably let me use his if he wouldn't get in trouble for it (I don't think he would).
For Spire you need to set up a proxy server or something. Can't remember the details but it's not plug n play yet.
I'll wait a few more days. I'm hearing of some bugs coming up like the big boss repo is empty. No rush.

No, the guy is bipolar and lonely and broke and I'm his "computer guy". Last time I was there he didn't have money, I let it slide because I knew he'd need me again. This time he says he only has $2 for me.....homie don't play that!
I thought it was great at first but it really isnt that much better than clicking through the settings app. Sure at times it takes you directly to the setting which is helpful in itself, but the amount of clicks which is the measure if work you need to do can be the same as how many clicks it takes you to do the same thing by going to the settings app itself. i tried the icon settings for wifi and bluetooth and felt it had minimal impact for me, but i could see for someone that doesnt know their way around the iphone that it could be beneficial.

(data plan, who needs it)
I've used PDAnet, but reading on new versions, there is an option to hide data usage, but some are saying it is not working :/ I need to test it.
I also use 3Gunrestrictor to allow over 20MB downloads via 3G. I'll do more research maybe there are new apps.
PS sinful repo

I'm confused so you can make a call. But for data you just use wifi?
What's the difference then disabling data over 2G/3G in the network settings?
Btw at least with AT&T you need a data plan when you buy the phone.
If you buy used then you can get away w/o getting data.

This applies to any smartphone for that matter. It just happened to my FIL's phone that we bought used and rolled his phone number to. At first they didn't charge us for the data plan, but then they realized he had a smartphone and began charging us for the data plan. I don't know how they figured it out, but I think they can tell just by the IMEI number.
hmm... so i bought the gorilla pod for iPhone. The case didnt fit with my screen protector on it
so i had to take it off.
guess i will have to buy a new one and cut it smaller so it will fit.
