Apple confirms Carrier IQ in older iOS, plans to remove it in future update
We stopped supporting CarrierIQ with iOS 5 in most of our products and will remove it completely in a future software update. With any diagnostic data sent to Apple, customers must actively opt-in to share this information, and if they do, the data is sent in an anonymous and encrypted form and does not include any personal information. We never recorded keystrokes, messages or any other personal information for diagnostic data and have no plans to ever do so.
Any recommendations for this? I had a cheap one for my Evo from Amazon and it barely worked. I would be interested in a component cable that would allow me to stream video from my 4S to monitor. TIA
What's the difference between component and composite?

HDTVs will have component connections, with some also having the yellow composite connection. SDTVs are the opposite, and the older you go the less chance of having a component option.
When in doubt: older = composite, newer = component.
This advise is obviously leaving out VGA, DVI, S-video and HDMI connections.
Both use red/white for audio. Composite uses a yellow RCA plug for video, component separates it into red/blue/green. Component is better than composite.

I didn't realize $40 was being anally raped. It's still cheaper than an ATV.
Clearly the cheap $5.00 knocks off from China is what he's all about.
Actually that app I recommended works pretty good. The reason it's got low rating is because the the free version is a pretty limited trial version that requires an $8 in app purchase to remove the restrictions. The free version is good enough to know how the app works but not enough to actually be useful. But it does what he needs....
Remember that for the 4 or older it will only output You Tube and videos saved to your phone. You won't have a live desktop on your HDTV. I think only the iPad2 does that and maybe the 4s. I think there's an app that will stream wirelessly to your PS3 if you have one of course. I can't view the above link because I'm at work.
And yeah normally I'm a monoprice guy but methinks Apple will find a way to make component/HDMI cables useless without paying top dollar. I am happy to report though that the Chinese knockoff charging cables work for a 1/4 of the price. $19 is a damn rip.

I'm looking for a solution to stream Youporn from my 4S to my 60" Sharp LCD. J/K. More like Netflix.
I'm almost positive Netflix won't work but look it up. I found answers at the answer database in the apple.com store.
If that's more in line with what you're wanting to do, something like a Roku box might be a better solution.

Thank you JDM folk.
