do you get your email pushed to your phone? Or do you have to goto the gmail site everytime you want to check your email?

I go to gmail when I want to check my email - and I am 100% ok with that (I have a shortcut button for it on home screen and that is great). I don't get e-mail there that is critical enough to need it pushed.

Me too but I'd never check it if it is not pushed to my phone.

It's so easy to set up using the built in email app...

The only thing I dont like about the mail option is the it says I have 22k emails in my inbox...

I checked the account on my PC and clearly that is not the case, so I'm a little lost.

I missed your post. Although my issue was resolved without me having to do anything on my phone, I did try what you suggested before you had suggested it and it had no impact. My guess is that something was cached on the router and needed to be cleared/reset. That's probably why after the weekend had elapsed it worked just fine come Monday morning.

Weird things with my wife's phone. Huge data usage when she's not near the phone at all. 11MB after midnight today, 44MB Tuesday afternoon.

Another question: Reminders

I'm reading that there are no missed call/txt reminders or beeps really. The wife is all about them. I think she would hate that aspect. So you basically have to keep waking up the phone and checking?

Dunno. Had to upgrade from 200MB to 2GB, it was cheaper than paying for 200MB more.

Might have been a Disney app.

No. But there should be zero reason why any app would need to send multiples of MB on it's own. There's a 99 page thread on the Apple forum about it. She went from 65% of her limit to 90% in a day where she only used the phone on wifi. It uses cell data when the screen is locked, apparently.

Deleted the app and updated to 5.0.1 and I'll be keeping close eye on it.

Purchase song on iTunes using my 4S. Looks like there's no way to move it from purchased folder to one of my playlists on the phone itself, need to do this through desktop?

Welcome to iOS. lol. In all seriousness, you probably need to make the changes in iTunes and then resync your phone. The same answer for eccjak. iOS doesn't have a File Explorer like Android unless you jailbreak I believe.

It will always be in the Purchased playlist, but you can add any music to any playlist on the phone.

Disable the iTunes replication, and then sync?

It's pretty easy to delete a podcast on iOS 5 just swipe over the item from left to right or right to left and the delete button appears, same way you delete many items in iOS.

Remember people you do not need iTunes anymore with iOS 5 all the things that you needed iTunes for can now bedone on the device, including deleting podcasts and music, making playlists, etc.

I didn't know you can do this, so I thought I would share because I didn't see it posted before. If you are at the lock screen and you have notifications being listed. You can swipe left to right and a toggle will appear that allows you to go to that app for that particular notification. I haven't tried it on all my apps just the amazon deals app.

Good to know. I forgot iOS has the swipe to left and right feature. Its also in the Android Facebook app that's not documented anywhere and found by accident to delete status updates. lol.

Yeah I just wanted to move the new Rihanna song I purchased on my 4S to my "Dance" playlist LOL. I had to sync with my desktop, move Rihanna to the "Dance" playlist on Desktop, then resync with 4S.

FML, that's what I get for listening to Rihanna. I hear songs on the radio and I'm like "Meh" and then I hear the same song at the club with all the hotties dancing and I'm like "Woot!"

You can do it on the phone, too. You aren't moving it, rather just adding it to whatever playlist.

I'll work on some screens for you.

Go to whatever playlist you want to edit, or create a new one.

Click on Edit

Then use the + to add music.

You can add whole playlists, artists, genres to the one you are editing.

I did notice that if you sign up for iTunes Match, your 'Purchased' playlist has gone away...or this happened with 5.0.1. Finding what you've downloaded recently is a little harder, but it can be done.

Lol, no thank you. I love how 4G is the new "must have" term. Before it was 3d, then HD, then megapixels, then 3g, then gigahertz, and then flat screen ....

Only idiots buy something because it has the latest techno mumble jumble that they don't fully understand....

Sadly its what the uninformed pick up in such commercials. I can't count the number of times I have had to correct people who think their iPhone 4 is automatically 4G because its a 4. The same thing with the megapixels in cameras.

its mainly a marketing gimmick, how a business operates and lures customers in., IIRC we havent even passed up true 3G speeds?
